This is probably not true for all carriers...and not in all areas... but, the carrier at my home is awful.. dishonest because he/she does a terrible careless job when mail is vital. The carrier has repeatedly taken items i've mailed, and failed to scan so the items never arrive to where I've sent them. (where are they?) True.. not all the time, but 4 or 5 ( in less than a year) items never scanned, never delivered is too much. He/she is lazy leaving huge boxes at mailbox across the street instead of bringing to my door. I tried to call to report..but never can get to actually speak to anyone. This is terrible. a better person deserves that job. read more

This post office has some of the worst mailman's , I had a mailman steal my kitten of my porch and the same mailman was parked half way my yard and was taken up our parking spots in front of my home. we had asked him politely to move and he told us that we can wait to park In front of our house that he has more house to get done all while flipping us off . We caught all this on video and also when we had tried calling the office to make a report all they could give us was excuses for him. read more

The employee that helped me, at the desk, did not offer an opportunity for me to get an email copy of my receipt. He skipped that portion. I tried to click on email and print out a copy and he skipped it. With so many things that can go wrong, it's good to have an electronic copy of your receipt. That is why I gave it four stars today instead of five. Now, onto the good of my visit. The employee that goes by the name of Steve is the reason why they would always get fives. Just saying This employee went over and above to help me. I didn't know that there was a difference between the boxes to send things in at the post office. One is a flat rate and one is by weight only. In addition I was sending something to the north east or the New England states so it's cheaper to send things that way. The other employee didn't even offer that to me. Steve saw some thing stepped in and He saved me eight dollars. The other employee wasn't gonna change my shipping option because I wrote on the box already that I selected. Steve told him that it didn't matter and that he needed to help the customer. I saved money shipping something to my nephew. Because Steve stepped in. Period. Thank you to Steve. read more

While many people are complaining about the Post Office service I find myself disagreeing when talking about the Norwich, CT postal service. From the carriers who deliver my mail to the crew at the Main Street Post Office to the awesome folks at the Postal Annex near Walmart I see dedication and a strong sense of customer service. For example; I missed a delivery last week. While it didn't need a signature the delivery person made the right decision not to leave it. She didn't know it but it was a very expensive piece of computer hardware. I called the annex to see if it made it back the same day and if I could pick it up. I spoke to Kristen. She was helping someone else but said she would check after she finished the other call. She called back within minutes to tell me I could pick it up right away. I know this is long winded but it was important to give the Norwich Postal system a big Thank You! read more

This Post Office is one of the best I've ever been to. The service at this location is Very good and I am especially grateful for the help that Stephen gave us today with sending an important package. The wait time is good but I'd avoid lunch hour (as I would at any store) because it can get very busy and there may be longer wait times. The building is a beautiful 1908 structure and I enjoy looking at the detail in the lobby. read more

I have a PO Box because I have had issues with mail/packages being stolen off the porch. I've never had an issue with Norwich post office, actually, I've had them help me carry packages out. One employee carried a box to my car that was down the street. He offered and had no issue doing it. It made my day! I've had another load packages into my vehicle without complaints. They all have been respectful, helpful, fast and more than accommodating when I go in. It's the holiday season, they are under a ton of stress with the amount of mail and packages. I'm an essential worker so I understand and respect them. If you go in with a crap attitude you'll be leaving with one. Not their fault. read more

Have been waiting for a package, (I paid 55 dollars for the item), for about a month. First time tracking said "forwarding expired", even though I started forwarding a week prior. Then set up redelivery, the tracking said package out for delivery 3 days ago, now says back at P.O. Called P.O., they said they don't have it, must be at annex (again). Called annex again, didn't know. I doubt I'll ever get my package, I'm now out 55 bucks. Tracking appears to contain made-up updates. The whole thing is typical for the times we live in unfortunately. read more
