I wouldn't call this a dilapidated old building, I would call it a beautiful historic building…read more(tomatoes tomatoes). It's a product of the New Deal Department of Public Works. It was finished in 1939, the architecture is called Stripped Classical, the murals (Francis Foy) are lovely and artistically interesting. It's in the registry of historic places, deservedly. It's meant to be reminiscent of an ancient Greek temple. The workers here are great, but maybe not all of the customers so much. Nice selection of stamps, greeting cards, and packing supplies. What travels around the world and yet stays in one corner? A postage stamp!

OK, so the location is a bit shady... And the building…read moredoesn't look like a post office from across the street. I almost doubted google maps for bringing me here when I searched for the nearest post office. The building is old and raggedy, and the inside looks like it could really use some dusting. But, customer service was top notch for me. I don't usually expect good customer service at post offices. And no, this wasn't the kind of service with a friendly smile and how can I help you. It was more of a, "next! Do you need stamps?" kind of service. But I get that at every post office I've been to. So kind of expected. But, the lady working with me was very efficient, and helped me save some bucks by trying out a different box when I didn't ask for any of that. It was very kind. I respect that.

Since this one sits right on top of the airport, I like to drop off stuff here imagining it gets going faster but I don't actually know that this is the case. They are fast, polite and efficient here, plus you often get free entertainment in the short line wait as colorful crackpots are also frequent visitors.

5 stars for a Post Office?…read more I challenge you to find a better one. This place is open 24 / 7. You can ship every thing here from a bundt cake for your Aunt Emma in Poughkippsee to a set of sweet-ass 22s you sold on EBay to some sucker in Modesto. Need a PO Box so your mom doesn't find out about your magazine subscriptions? They can help you out. Need a passport for that once-in-a-lifetime Carnival Cruise you and the Mrs. have been saving up for for the pas 8 years? Bingo. Postal workers get a bad rap. The employees here have been nothing but kind, professional, and patient. If any one is going postal in here it's going to be me. Especially if you are that guy in front of me who is always shipping 15 different packages and needs to know the price for each one and how long it will take to get there. You get my drift. You can do all that shit online at home. USPS: A poor-man's FedEx. No one really needs that shit from Amazon by 10:30 the next day. Use the postal service. Save some bucks.
