A modern architected government facility that is graced by the serene and surreal backdrop of Lake Michigan. This office/ headquarters seems to jump out of nowhere and it's presence is immediate. I am reviewing this on pure architecture value alone and was awed by the sprawling lakeside campus that seems to be almost in the middle of nowhere and nowhere. If you get down on the longer lengths of the Oakleaf trail you cannot miss this structure.

My first NAMI walk was downtown on the lakefront, and this one was in Wauwatosa. Both times, walkers were very well directed by helpers, made aware of the schedule ahead of time, and given goodies the day of. If you're looking for a good cause to support, I'd highly recommend.

Plentiful parking and short security lines got us onto the tarmac quickly. Once on the tarmac, be prepared to wait a long to time to see cockpits. For example, we waited over 90 minutes just to catch a glimpse of the C17. They were so backed up that once we got inside, they told us we had to keep moving. That was clearly not the messaged relayed early in the day. Looking around, those types of lines were similar at the other planes. We quickly moved on to see the fighter jets and helicopters before closing.

I love crossing over Lake Michigan and seeing the Downtown Milwaukee skyline. You have plenty of great views including Lake Michigan, Summerfest, Milwaukee Art Museum and so on. It truly makes Milwaukee look great! The only problem I have with Hoan Bridge is that smells terrible...some days are worse then others, but overall, it smells like poo. It's not the bridge's fault, of course. I love this bridge!
