My first real job was at Kohl's food store, which is now Outpost. I worked the bakery ;) There always were lots of hair shops here. And now those have mushroomed even more. As well, of course, as the multitude of bars and restaurants. Kinnickinnic ave is the main strip and most all things access through this street. Kinnickinnic turns into 1st St then Water St -- the main gateway to downtown. South Shore beach is home of the Frolics, a summer parade and party, a lovey farmers market and areas to take strolls, have picnics or dock your boat. The neighborhood has it's challenges at times (how many don't?) but I hope this can get corrected over time. Bay View truly is a beautiful, fun, pretty, eclectic, trendy, hipster, accepting place to be. Anything you need you'll get it here.

Constructed in the early 1970's, this lakefront bridge is a sight in the evening when it's lit up…read more They occasionally do light shows which are lovely to watch from the Milwaukee Pierhead lighthouse. We've also watched from the rooftop bar, The Outsider, which made a wonderful view as well. The bridge lights up for a variety of events. Currently, I'm betting it's lit up in blue and yellow for the Brewers who are currently in the NLDS playoffs. Driving over it offers lovely view of Lake Michigan as well as downtown. Depending on the wind, you may get an unpleasant whiff from the water reclamation plant--but really can't blame the bridge for that. A beautiful bridge that has only gotten more beautiful as they've added lights on both sides. I've wanted to see it from the lake and boat under it for a while now and happy to have done so recently! It was lovely from beginning to end.

Milwaukee!! clocking in at just over 10,000 feet long the Hoan Bridge carries six lanes of I-794 some 120' above the Milwaukee River. the crazy yellow arch dominates the view eastward during the day and multi-color LEDs create a spectacle after sunset. one more thing: contrary to local rumor the Blue Brothers' car chase was NOT filmed here (M. It's currently open to the public every first Sunday of the month (April through December) from noon to 3pm. It's free to look around but donations are accepted. While we were there, there were a handful of retired firefighters (with experience from that fire house) on hand to give tours and answer questions. We found it to be very informative and fascinating. Had no idea until recently that that was even there and open. I'm pretty sure you can schedule a visit too, if their current open house hours don't work for you.

So I headed over to a boring office building near the airport (next to Denny's) and was taken care of by a super nice border agent. The whole thing took maybe 10 minutes and as a bonus I don't look like a crackhead on my ID card. Looking forward to LOTS of travel when it's safe again!

Me and the Mrs came here to get approved for TSA fast tracking so we can get thru customs quicker when returning back to the USA. You'll need to apply online in advance and make an appointment. Be sure to bring your Passport, our passports were new and we had to sign them in the presence of a US Customs officer. Plan ahead for this. We were lucky to get in days before a trip out of the country. Friends of ours had to go to Madison to get their global entry whatchamacallit.

Sunny friendly inviting location with excellent librarians and not just a good selection of books, but access to lots of audio versions of books, music, movies and comfortable seating to read, contemplate, or zone out. They have newspapers here, if you've ever heard of that sort of thing.
