I had a reason to visit a social security office this past week. Not knowing much how they work, I…read morechecked out their website then called customer service to schedule a meeting. Apparently, it's hard to find social security administration offices with open appointment times. But, although a distance from my home, they were able to find an appointment a week out in their Wilmette office. As most government buildings are, this is an older location in need of a facelift. When we walked inside, the place was packed. I said to the person I was there with, "I'm glad we have an appointment." The security guard handed me a number and immediately the number one less than mine was called. He laughed and said all of the people there were ahead of me, and they don't call numbers in order. Before I sat down, our number was called next. We went to the window and the agent knew what we needed since we had an appointment. (I guess the crowd waiting didn't have appointments.) The transaction took less than five minutes and we were done. So, aside from the aesthetics, this trip was quick and productive. The rep helped us quickly and did a good job. I strongly suggest that, if you need to go to a Social Security office, you call their service number to make an appointment.

They said they would send it out early and it never arrived wtf is going on?! I have to pay my rent and could be evicted at any moment because of this! This is unacceptable! I better get my check soon or someone will get fired this is ridiculous! Why were they so lazy and didn't properly send the SSI checks?! There was a specific person that sent this check late and only they should be blamed. I hope it comes soon but this has been really stressful on my family!!!!!

This is a little known area of the world that can easily slip into obscurity, but there is more…read morehere than meets the eye. Yes - it is, in part, nothing more than a typical northern-mid-western county with a central town (Kenosha) that sits alone in the vast northern stretch of farmlands and woods. But Kenosha is so much more - because of the Italian Mob - the great expansion into the north-woods, - and the NAZI's. Kenosha was once the northern enclave of Al Capone's mafia empire. Dozens of high level mobsters moved here and set up brothels, and gambling halls. It was like the Hampton's of Chicago - wealth - fun - drugs - sex - and booze. Kenosha was also once a center for German Nationalist sympathizers - before WW2 - when American Germans had had the right and even the duty to support their father-land. Of course, this led to huge groups of pro-NAZI activists as Hitler rose to power. And one can still see it in the the many groups of WW2 re-in-actors here, or even the shops that buy and sell NAZI "memorabilia", both within Kenosha and without. But mostly Kenosha is the quintessential modern Wisconsin village, based on farming and industry. Come here to see the lake - enjoy the German food - visit the various festivals nearby - drink Wisconsin beers - go to Mar's Cheese Castle - and play mini-golf. This is "non-Southern", "non-redneck" "white America" at its purest. And don't forget the Bristol Renaissance Faire every summer. Or the many Harley Davidson events. Again - this is a real part of America at its least mingled.

I'm sure they have to deal with mad people who also give them a list of complaints. Also there is never a line here which is amazing. In downtown Chicago this process would take me 45 minutes...in Kenosha I'm out the door in 4.5 seconds. If you are going to pay your property taxes the counter is located directly to the left of the door. I remember years ago I walked past the counter and became the lost guy wandering around the building! Today I saw a lady walk in with her payment and do exactly what I did years ago! She recovered quickly because the staff put up a huge neon pink 8.5 x 11 sign that said, "Pay Taxes Here!" I needed that sign years ago. As you are leaving I highly recommend you check out the museum pieces located on the South side of the door. Great pieces of history in Kenosha: an ice cutter from the lakes and one of the first road pavers. It is great to see how far technology has come.

There is a lot of culture, a striking art museum, Summerfest the largest music festival & a theater district. Miller beer & Harley Davidson have a big presence here. Milwaukee Brewers play baseball & the Bucks baseball, it's also home to Marquette University. There are many independent bookstores & art galleries in the city. The nickname "Cream City" comes from the distinct cream-colored bricks found on many of the city's buildings. Although downtown is very walkable, there is a bus & trolley system. However, the curb's & sidewalks aren't in good shape & need attention. People are friendly & helpful here.

And I haven't been here as often as I probably should have for as close as it is; it's about an hour or hour and a half away so it's an easy day trip. Known for breweries and bratwurst, one or the other of those are on practically every corner. I've not historically been the biggest fan of bratwurst but had a Reuben bratwurst that makes my mouth water thinking about it. I had fun going to some shops with my little one, including a couple children's shops (BlackBear Boutique and Rainbow Booksellers, in particular). Rainbow Booksellers is only open a couple days per week so make sure to prioritize it if you are wanting to go. I'd planned to take my kiddo to the children's museum, but she fell asleep so that will wait for another trip. I think there are at least a couple children's museum-like places here. And in the downtown area there are several music venues; I've only been to Pabst many years ago, and I'd love to visit the High Life Theatre as well. And soon will attend a Brewers game to see the sausage race live and in person!

She told my son to drop him off there when he was on his way to work and my adult brother was stranded in Harvard. My adult son thought the ER-Tech would bring my adult brother back to me or call me to pick up him. She did neither one. She kept him against his will, took him home to her house against his will and threw him into a nursing home claiming he had dementia when she knew damn well he was born intellectually disabled. The ER-Tech is a low level CNA who cannot diagnose anyone but told the doctors at the hospital the lie that my brother had demenita. She then took a case to court to become his guardian without notifying family members. The judge and Guardian Ad Litem were unaware that my brother had family. He was living with us. I was his care taker in Wisconsin. The CNA not only kept my brother captive at the Northwestern hospital, she kept him captive in her home for a short time and then locked him up in a nursing home to this day (almost 2 years later.) We have been trying to fight the guardianship. She took over his bank account. She spent his SSI on her clothes and her groceries, she is now spending all of his new inheritance that the CNA was able to intercept and spend from the bank account of my brother. She is not blood related to my disabled adult brother. She is an ex-sister-in-law that divorced our oldest brother in the 1980s. not to mention, our late mother hated this woman since she never paid our mother a lot of money since the 1980s. My mother never forgot it. The inheritance came from my mother's property after she died in 2021. The hospital should be held accountable for the actions of the CNA ER-Tech Sheena May. I will send this here and then pursue this legally against the hospital for the actions of their employee, Sheena May. She claims she worked here for 29 years. This facility was not here 29 years ago. She is a habitual liar. She is a very mentally unstable thief and kidnapper from your Northwestern Medicine hospital.
