-0 star if i could, this review is excluding the supervisor, this guy is nice and helpful, bad thing he is never available, besides him this place suck, first u have to make a huge line, the employees they just dont care, super slow service, , is a shame for US post office service, and the customer service is just not acceptable, there is a lady working always in the last cashier to the left when u just go in wearing horrible wigs, and worst than that is her attitude, she is not using a name tag if not she will mentioned in this review, if u are having a bad day dont take it off with customers, mad manners, rude, she doesn't care if you have any questions, im local so unfortunately i have to go there, if u can avoid this post office, go somewhere else, this is hands down the worst post office in Miami, and ive been in so many of them, and other states as well, resume, clean the place and hire some educated people to work. It's the busiest mailing day of the year. Well you would think the post office received the memo -- they didn't. I walked over from my apartment to get some stamps for my holiday cards. When i walked in, i started searching for the stamp vending machines. They used to have two... well now they are gone. Why would they ever do this? So i had to stand in a long line just to get stamps. I get in line and quickly notice there are only two attendants -- HELLO!!!! The line had easily 15 people in it. All of a sudden a man walked out and started asking people questions in line. I believe they are doing this to make the process go smoothly for some people, but in all honesty it does nothing to help the flow. The one good thing is if you are there to pick up a package -- you don't have to stand in line and some woman behind the counter helped you. Only problem is, that woman should open the register -- so the line would move faster. After 15 minutes, I eventually was able to buy my stamps and my holiday cards are now in the mail (finally!) Were the 15 minutes an eternity? Not really, just very annoying. If you can -- go to another post office - and good luck! read more

Sad to see such a majestic building with a rotten core. The gorgeous Spanish deco outside could not hide the worn interior, workers' stand-offish attitude and horrible inefficiency. Once I stood in line for 30 minutes to buy a book of stamps, only to be told they are out (like a sandwich shop running out of... sandwiches). Another time, I only picked up my packages after prompting them to "please look again" after a cursory search and a nasty "I TOLD YOU IT'S NOT HERE!" Even after they found it, no apologies. I fancy a clean, friendly and efficient post office would be lucrative, someone please privatize! read more

I only give them 2 stars because at least their doors were open and they have staff. I have lived on the beach for 8 years and I dread going to the post office. Fortunately they did remove the one guy from customer (unfriendly)service but they still have JACKIE who has only 1x been nice to me. I've tried being friendly and forgiving of the long waits only to crapped on by her. I would rather leave and come back when she is not there. If you need help finding anything she looks at her computer and points indirectly the many sales racks aggressively repeating "over there" when you could easily point directly to a rack and say "next to envelopes sir/madam" It is that attitude the slows down the line because everyone is aimlessly looking through your disorganized mess for what they need. There is one Latin lady at customer service that is nice. Also I think they hired a new manager that seems to be real team player but I'm sure with a staff like that he will get burned out quick by taking all the work load and heat from unhappy customers. Every job has its challenges but if you enjoy trying to help get out of customer service especially in Miami beach where you are dealing with people from all over and need a lot more assistance. read more

One of the slowest and least helpful locations. No pens available to complete mail forms and no assistance unless you stand in line. Rude staff and tons of people in line. I would avoid coming here unless it's a necessary. Parking is difficult because there is limited street parking out front. read more

I've lived in over 12 cities and this post office in Miami Beach is, by far, the worst I've ever been to. I dread everything that has to do with USPS due to this post office. They have THE WORST customer service and people skills. The lines are always long. The majority of the workers act as if they hate their job - giving customers attitudes, snotty remarks, and giving fault. They are never helpful and give terrible advice. Not to mention, it's Christmas season and they don't have all of the sizes in boxes?!? They sent me to FedEx to get a box for a large item then refused to ship the box I got. I went to check in a status of a lost package and i spoke to Brian the supervisor he asked for my contact information and he told me he will call me next day , he never called so i went again to the post office and i was told that he was day off ( Really ?). I spoke with Julio another supervisor and he was the most unprofessional supervisor i ever met all what he offered is to call 1800 number he didn't even try to make effort to help. If you want to see worst customer service, stop by this post office. Clerks have no sense of urgency, they purposely start chatting with each other or last person they are helping. The longer the line, the more they chat. The woman with the long blond hair looks at you like if you have 3 heads and orders you to set your mail on the scale. She won't even reach out to hand you change and today she was eating while helping people. Disgusting. These are the employees that get health benefits, decent pay, pension and retirement. Walking in the front door of this place, and I feel this is what a post office should feel like. Most are so cramped and small, note the one on West Ave just below 17th, but this one is wide open, with stone floors and high ceilings. The case open area has all of the post office boxes, and it used to house stamp machines, though those are long gone. Once through the front door, walk straight ahead, and the look continues to be impressive, but the basic post office regularities resume. A winding line, and a lack of staffing to cover all the customers quickly awaits the daily customer. I must give the workers a great deal of credit because they work well to move the line as well as possible. One person will often start a line just for people picking up mail, while the others cover the shipping and mailing needs. Parking is a bit tight around here, thought the street parallel to Washington is one way heading north and often a few spots are open here. read more

This office location is a fine and pretty typical representation of the US Postal Service System, and why it is doomed. Very nice old building, but everything nice about your visit will end the moment you open the doors and enter this office. Even if there are only a handful of people in front of you your wait time will be 15-25 minutes, since they often choose to only have 1 counter open, while several associates will chat to each other instead of re-allocating the human resources away from chatting to open at least one more counter. After your frustrating wait you are greeted with a snaky "What Do You Want!". No "Hi", ""How can I help you?". Based on my experiences at this USPS location, and many others throughout the years, I have taken a "vow" to not do business with USPS, or to ever visit a USPS location ever again. Yesterday I very unfortunately had to break that "vow" in order to in person investigate a miss-sorted gift for my wife. I received the gift but the process of doing so reminded me once again to my duty to NEVER do business with the USPS, and to inform my fellow Yelp'ers that you have options. Remember that you can buy stamps at Publix, use UPS/Fed Ex for shipping needs, if you buy things online, use an option other than USPS. Any premium you have to pay is, in my mind, nothing compared to the peace of mind and lower blood-pressure levels. It doesn't have to be like this, even my supposedly "socialist" home country of Sweden privatized its Postal System back in the 1990s. It now runs like FedEx. It CAN be done. Waiting for USPS delivery at home,never received and then I have been there for pick up,they tell me the package was sent back for wrong address,I show at supervisor the address wrote on package(received from the sender)then after that the supervisor told me they was checking on the back of office where the package was,and they realize was still on the truck and ready for delivery the same day! I think is not worth make business with them, they make a lot of money for making mistake and give bad service! read more

This was my first time at this location, which is convenient for me because I live close by. The structure of the building is absolutely beautiful. It looks as though there is still a significant amount of its original structure which for the South Beach area is pretty cool. The entrance almost resembles a museum. The inside of the post office is pretty dark and old looking as well. I went on a Saturday, which everyone knows is usually the busiest time for business, but thankfully there was no line. But on a more disappointing note, I was not greeted nor was I even acknowledged by the staff. There were 4ppl behind the counter, two of whom were having a personal conversation, yet it took me walking up to the counter to ask for help. Although the customer service wasn't the greatest experience, all in all, I was in and out in a matter of minutes. Can't beat a quick and painless trip to USPS. read more

I've been at this particular location 2 different days in a week and i managed to ruin my day each time. The staff is absolutely rude and it's treating you like you're nothing. I'd not give this place a star at all... incredibly rude and undermining staff. I came in for a refund because they screwed up my express shipment with fish I had for over 10years and they are now dead. I spent over hundred dollars on shipment and then they talk down to you like you are lesser than them. Lowly government employees that are unhappy with their life so they take out on you. Zero Stars!!! This post office and the manager Elia and staff member Steven (not the manager Steve) are offensive and rude. This is what happened over the course of 1 month: I tried to track my package and did not receive it. This post office says they tried to deliver it on January 7 and notify me. They did no such thing. After several weeks of trying to get it from this location I was told it was there. I went in immediately to get it and waited for 1 hour while they looked. The manager Elia was extremely rude! She said she could not be bothered to help customers and snapped at several other customers in line with similar complaints. Steven (the tall employee dark skinned non-Hispanic male) refused to tell me his managers name and finally answered me after pretending like he couldn't hear my question when I was standing in front of him. Finally Steve (the manager who is a shorter Hispanic male) looked for another 20 minutes and finally handed me my package. While I was waiting Steve the employee was laughing at me and the other patrons who were waiting to file formal complaints and collect their items. DO NOT GO TO THIS POST OFFICE. read more

They never deliver package properly and call to open the entrance for them..than for days i keep going to the post office to pick up but they can never find the package. I send an agend to pick up for me with filled out pick up notice and they dont want to give the package because its not me and they ask for my id. Then why are they leaving notice pick up agent if they dont do that.they havent re deliver too!!!!!! Last package was half stolen.they open my box in the corner and my private value was stolen. For 3 years I've watched the poorest customer service and attitude by the same counter clerk. She is so unfriendly and rude. I watched her this morning telling people to get in line to ask her a simple question and an elderly woman who stood in the line and she didn't need to. The line was about 20 minutes to wait.
