I believe the management must be afraid of the workers and not correct the problems. I hold my breath each time the package hits Memphis. Will it disappear or be sent to another state? All of our mail is sent to Memphis and then goes to its destination. Very dissatisfied with Memphis Postal work. If you want something to go though Memphis, send it Priority as they pay more attention to these packages. I try to get all of my packages sent through UPS.

I make a point to use Click N Ship /Use PoshMark Labels and only drop off packages here that…read morealready have postage and I don't wait for them to be scanned--they point you to leave them on a counter if you signal when you come in. I've not had any of them go missing. The staff I've dealt with when I do go to the counter is always friendly but not overly so. USPS has big issues with delivery that are not necessarily the fault of those at the service counter. The building is open on Sat but the service counter is NOT which is annoying and means I must plan a drop off during a weekday because the package drop and outdoor post box are inaccessible. About a year ago someone broke into the outdoor letter box and they haven't reopened it. So there is minimal service here if you are looking for convenience.

For starters, there is usually only one person working the desk when there is a line literally out the door (17 people or so). And today there was NO ONE at the desk. I repeat, there is NO ONE at the desk with 7 people in line for 5 minutes. Someone behind me joked that it must be their lunch break...and we continued to tell jokes so we wouldn't cry. I recently did a cross country move for work, and decided to ship my belongings. I sent 90% of my…read morethings using FedEx ground (highly recommend it) and I sent 2 boxes full of medical text books using the USPS media mail option, which allows you to send heavy books at a discounted price. This post office ended up losing the larger of the 2, it never arrived at the location. The USPS 1-800 number is useless, it's over an hour wait on holding music then a lady tells you to call consumer affairs. I called them, they tell me that my package was last scanned in Memphis and that there is no further record of it, and that I need to file a claim and "they" will look for it in their warehouse in Atlanta - but I have to provide all the names of the books I sent which I don't recall exactly because there were a ton. This location didn't properly handle my mail, didn't tape it, the second box arrived almost destroyed. The first box is still missing. Lesson learned, USPS is pretty terrible, should have spent an extra 10-20 dollars and sent them using FedEx ground. I really hope USPS goes out of business, they don't care about your packages at all, they say they'll do some extra taping in the back or make proper recommendations on your package but they don't. Their tracking system is awful, and their package deliver and handling is sub par. FedEx ground is the way to go and be economical. You can create a FedEx account online and get special discounts and print out your labels and drop it off at their store. I got all my FedEx Packages in great shape and on time, while USPS lost my books. Best part about it is their customer service is AWFUL, don't rely on their stupid 1800 number. DONT USE USPS FOR ANYTHING - SPEND EXTRA DO FEDEX OR UPS AND REST ASSURED.
