The ONLY reason I'm selecting a star is because I have to. The Mattapan Post Office doesn't even deserve the 1 star.
I've been saying for years that the people who work at this location are the some of the worst people I have ever come across. My list of horrible service is unending. I'm 38 and recently disabled. I live with my 74 year old Mom. I can't tell you how many times we've told them this...we have a 3 story house and the back is 4 stories since we live on a hill. Both of us have mobility issues, especially me, and just can't carry much more than our purses and maybe something to drink up a set of stairs... in fact, 3/8/2020 was the 2nd time I'd left my bedroom on the 3rd floor of our house since DECEMBER and the 1st time I left the house since December b/c I had to be tested for covid-19...thats how much I struggle with going up and down stairs and my other health issues. My Mom has had 2 knee replacements, arthritis, heart issues, and a benign brain tumor that makes it very difficult for her maintain her balance. Her cardiologist as instructed her to minimize her use of stairs and she hasn't been able to carry more than 5-10 lbs in the last 2-3 years. We don't like having packages left on the front steps b/c our house, like most in mattapan, sits right on the sidewalk and we've had stuff stolen. ALL of this has been explained to the foul mouthed manager and her evil little minions; the disrespect that spews from them in response is unbelievable.
We have on our shipping address BACK PORCH DOOR. They constantly left it at the basement door. That means they had to walk past the steps to the deck and would then leave it directly underneath the sign that says please leave all packages UPSTAIRS on the porch by the door. The 1st reason for this was because "they could hear dogs barking in the house and the person delivering the packages feared for his life". Um,...if he hears dogs inside and fears for his life because they can bust through the door or a window, wouldn't that be true for leaving the packages at the front door and basement door as well? You don't know where they are in the house, you just hear barking, supposedly...b/c 1/2 the time that claim was made, I was out of town...so please, let's try this again. BTW, my dogs are 18 lb pekingese, emotional support dogs, and I'm a certified dog trainer. When the dog walking agency sends a dog walker, yes they bark, while they AUTOMATICALLY sit and wait for you to pet them...thats what they do with strangers. In addition to that, I stay outside with them when my dogs are out (more recently its been my Mom) and you can see my entire porch from our driveway because of the slope. If my dogs were on the porch, they'd be able to see them waaay before they were within range of their leads that they are kept on while outside. The post office supposedly sent someone to check this. After that, it changed to well, they can only leave packages where they deliver our mail? Oh, is that a new law within the last 3 years that you forgot about while you were fearing for your life...yet had the audacity to OPEN MY FRONT DOOR AND LEAVE A PACKAGE. I see you didn't fear for your life when you just walked up into my dog barking house!
These jerks will still leave packages in front of the basement door in the back of the house and not notify us. Our neighbors have had to call and tell us we've had a package there for a couple days...like, why? Why are you so vindictive? Just be professional and do your job!
I was waiting for a delivery one summer day. I'd been sitting on my front steps since it was a nice day and I don't get out much. I got a text that the delivery truck was at the end of my street and my package was going to be delivered in minutes. I sat there for an hour, even after I got a text saying my package was delivered...I called a spoke to the foulest mouthed female manager ever who said her driver said he delivered my package. Really? I've been sitting on my front steps for almost 2 hours at this point and a mail truck hasn't even gone down my street and he never came to my house. "Well my worker said he did so you're going to have to call Target and figure something out with them." Click
That ENTIRE STAFF needs to be FIRED. I have lived in mattapan my entire life and the issues with the post office didn't start until the specific group there now started working there. Everyone I talk to has nothing but horrible things to say about them....time for them to go. read more
