Fantastic Post Office in Kihei business district. I love the outdoor machine to use when sending packages back to mainland using. Of coarse I use the Flat Rate Priority boxes cause the post office gives you the boxes and it's a flat fee. When I ventured indoors the help has always been extremely courteous and helpful with my packages. Today I shipped a box on a Monday and it landed on Boston on a Thursday , a day ahead for what was noted on machine. Now that's service ladies & gentlemen. I've lived at this address for 27 years with no post office complaints. No I get a not that my location is not clear to the delivery person. No one has ever had a problem seeing the big numbers on my house. I feel insulted by this impolite note. I doubt anything will satisfy this delivery person. NO ONE EVER COMPLAINED For over 27 years. I live in Kihei, my postman is amazing and sadly I have to go to the post office to mail packages. When dealing with their customer clerks be aware. A few are very helpful but the majority are awful and dismissive. One can't even speak English. Since they are union they can't get fired so at least move them to a different position. It's very frustrating. My rating is a 3 as my delivery rep is a 5 and the main office is a 1. *Update: I moved it to a 2 as I mailed a box from a post office in another state to my UPS office in Kihei and they lost it. From past experience, visiting the post office has not been pleasantly memorable. I thought people with bad attitudes were naturally attracted to careers at the USPS. Our last post office was about as much fun as a trip to the DMV. Fortunately, this isn't the case at our Kihei Post Office. This trip, the line was out the door, but clerks were working at every station along the counter and the line moved quickly. The people are really friendly here, and they do their jobs well. It's quite refreshing. Standing in line here is more agreeable since they have beautiful local artwork on display. I don't know whose idea it was to hang these paintings above the counter, but I love it! The mail carriers we've had have also been very friendly, too. Thanks and kudos to these terrific essential workers. We'd be in a real jam without them. read more

This post office is conveniently located in The Azeka Mall in front of Ace Hardware. It always seems to be a line out the door but that's mostly because of social distancing. The line does go pretty fast and the workers inside are friendly and efficient. read more

No one answers the phone, constantly losing packages somehow. Not sure how it is possible to lose packages that have been scheduled for pick ups. read more

This post office has such friendly staff. It seems if the line is long they bring in more clerks pretty quickly (which doesn't happen at any mainland ones I've been to) there is a stamp machine outside & they always have mailing boxes outside you can get on your own. They require asks and social distancing. read more

The worst and inhumane service possible. I am visually impinging and the clerk refused to help me because it's not his job. I had to get a supervisor whom helped me fill out the address. Next I went to another clerk to pay and she told me to press the green button, I asked 'please show me where it is?' as I am visually impaired. She yelled at me it's right there without showing me. This continued until I had to ask her to put her finger where I needed to press. She hurumped and finally put my finger at the button. Is there no compassion or humanity left here? Our mail carrier are very lazy even her relief she would park on the side of the road to write a notice and slipping my package to be pick up at the post office when we are always home too lazy to get down the truck and deliver the package or even honk horn so we can come and get the package from that lazy carrier.. sad how this people are getting paid so much whenthey can't even do their job right.. read more

I will be taking photos / videos of USPS workers ignoring up flag signs to pick up mail . The date is 01/17/2021 and I observed my mail not being picked up. I ended up buying too much syrup, butters and all sorts of Maui jams. So I got a large flat rate ($16.00) and stuffed it to the brim! Will be at my door step in a few days, so happy to have found this so close to where we were staying in Kihei. BTW..here is what I had in the box: 3 jams 6oz jars 2 syrups 12 Oz bottles 3 peanut butters 8oz jars 4 dry seasoning jars 7 Oz jars 2 packages of teas 24 bags each bag Clayton helped me and had the best smile! Very friendly workers! The line around 9:30am on a Saturday was very minimal I was in and out in 15min tops. If you buy too much S!$#% like I did just send it over to the mainland using USPS! read more

This post office is the awesome! I mailed a package to my son while he vacationed in Maui. It arrived overnight as promised, but the condo company couldn't open the mail box . We tried everything possible to get the box opened, without success. We continued to try to have the package returned to us for several months, no success. I traveled to Maui and went to speak to them about our package. They were understanding of our situation and they agreed to help. I had to pay a small retrieval fee. About a week later the package arrived at our home in California! The contents were priceless to us and we are so appreciative of the Maui Post Office!! They went the extra mile for us! read more

I usually get paid fridays but it doesn't come in through my mail until Monday ? Why is that

The mail man on Hoonani st route keeps on skipping our house because trash bins are on the side of the mailbox. The county wanted the trash bins there for the driver so everyone on the street puts they're trash bins on our side per county request. Its not like he has to walk more than 4 steps to do HIS JOB. On occasion I'm even outside he can easily give me the mail if taking a couple of steps are to much. Hate to see work at a fast food drive thru he probably wouldn't even reach for the $ because its to strenuous. read more

A trip to the post office is similar to a trip to the dmv - it's not something you want to do but something you have to do. That being said, the post office in Kihei is absolutely top notch and each visit I have had there, their staff has gone above and beyond to present me with everything from various shipping options to fun, out of the box stamps and even helping with packaging my items in such a way to reduce cost and save me both time and money. Being a new(ish) resident to the Kihei area, I was interested in signing up for a P.O. box to ease piece of mind while my mail was being transferred from my old address in Wailuku. The gentleman that helped me was incredibly friendly, helped me fill out the form and even gave me some information about the USPS website and all of the features I could utilize there. Nevertheless, I left pretty astounded that, what could have been another mundane chore to check off my list, turned into an incredibly pleasant interaction with someone who truly cared about their job. Thank you, Kihei USPS workers! You have my vote for best post office on island!! read more
