As long as you go to a post office, store, restaurant etc. not during peak hours, the experience is always better in my opinion. I still love this post office because it's central and close to all of the places I need to run errands at on my lunch breaks during the week. Honestly though, I was getting pretty irritated with the 2 big pot holes by the parking entrance and exit but when I went today to mail out some packages and to check my po box, I was pleasantly surprised that they filled in those potholes. I can't believe what's going on with the homeless camping outside this facility. Sometimes I check my mail either at night or early in the morning but I can't because of the homeless. I don't feel safe. Now there's 3 homeless people camping out in front. How can this be?? Something needs to be done! IT'S NOT OKAY! The workers see what's going on but they're doing nothing about it Guess I gotta take pics of the situation and send it to the higher ups so something can be done. Ooookay, looks like my review of the original page magically flew over and merged to Haleiwa, HI, after I've been checking in to this place for the past 3 years. Whatever. I have no idea who keeps changing the business address, but it definitely leads Yelpers astray. The zip code for this PO is 96733. Its an old facility with deteriorating hardware (our box has permanent marker numbers written on it, courtesy of yours truly,) and the tiniest and busiest parking lot on the rock. Be ready to circle and circle for a spot during the day. There are no stamp vending machines, and no automated scales or shipping options. Its one of the few PO's with an air conditioned box area. But, their rental prices are less than Wailuku, which is one of the reasons why we made the switch. And, its more convenient for us in general. Service is generally quick and friendly. The homeless sometimes frequent the front at night, but are surprisingly never sleeping inside. read more

If you are coming to this location be prepared to battle against limited parking and a popular location since it is in a centralized area. During the holiday season it is crowded both inside and in the parking lot. There are lines in the road to try and get in. Major tip for anyone coming is to have everything set and packed already. Space inside is a challenge if you're trying to set anything up. Currently for the holiday season they have an employee that is here to precheck your packages to help ease your way when get to the front. Make sure you have your own packing tools (scissors, tape, pens etc.) as the USPS does not have these available for use. They do have packing tape for purchase. The package I needed to send only needed to be dropped off, therefore my service was fairly quick. read more

Ahh, the Kahului post office. Mostly and in and out errand.. If you time it right... Or maybe it's just luck? I go mid-morning or mid-afternoon. Opening rush or closing madness are crazy times to be in this tiny post office. Bring your phone or a book and just have some extra aloha during these high peak times. Parking. It can be a nightmare. The lot only had about 15ish spots. One way in, one way out. Can get gridlocked at rush hour. Try to avoid at high customer times: i.e: opening, lunch and 4:00-close. Most of these postal workers are the nicest that I've ever come in contact with. They know me by name now and they are just so pleasant. PO boxes, tape, packaging supplies, stamps, even gift cards... the post office has it all. Overall, a clean place, nice employees and a good place to do business. read more

The Kahului post office may be busy during the day, but it runs efficiently and quickly, and all the employees are very friendly. I used to avoid this post office because of the lines, but I've started going back since it runs so well. I've seen fewer people in line at the Puunene post office take much longer because they don't have the staff that Kahului does. Thanks! read more

Staff at this Post Office has always been friendly and helpful. We were able to get a passport appointment quickly by checking the website for cancellations throughout the week. We never had any issues with our PO Box at this location or mail forwarding around the island. We did have a few issues with our postal carrier delivering packages timely, but nothing too crazy. Parking can be a little rough so try to avoid their peak hours. read more

I come here very often, and usually the employees are very nice, but there was one lady who was just not having it and she was very rude. I have read reviews on google and looks like this situation is pretty common, but when it comes to passport renewals or getting an application, it takes time, and she did not want to answer any of my questions regarding my passport, knowing that it was my first time renewing my passport. I asked for their manager but she did not want to bring her manager which was fine, I eventually got the help I needed, which was not from the lady. Thankfully, the other employees were more than willing to help me. Wish she had shown more aloha and less of an attitude, which truly ruined my day. read more

It's a post office. Parking is pretty easy and there's usually space available. Clerks are helpful. Buy packaging and tape if you need it. Get a P O Box here. Building could use some updating but they probably can't afford the downtime or the cost of remodel. Help support them and buy more stamps. read more

I am getting weary of what masquerades for Customer Service. When you pay almost $11 to ship 1 lbs. 7 oz., it doesn't seem unreasonable to ask for 5 inches of tape to secure the label for said package. Nowadays, the norm is, 'oh we don't have any tape you can borrow, but will let you buy a roll for four dollars.' I realize supplies cost money. However, there was a time when the post office actually tried to keep your business by offering things like a piece of tape! I will do my best to avoid this post office in the future! Is it any wonder they struggle to keep customers? Further, the parking is limited at best, and dangerous to boot! ;-( read more

Sent a package via USPS and paid $90 for it to be shipped and it was all torn up. Probably lost things. Omg I'm very upset.

The worst post office you could possibly go to. I wanted to give them another chance even though they charged me for something I did not purchase. If you want to send things that will never get there, then go for it! I originally didn't go back about the charge because it was only $3 and to make an extra trip for only $3 is very inconvenient and irritating. But today went back to mail a box and mentioned the receipt I had from previous mistake and letter that was never delivered and got hell of attitude from the worker. I made 3 trips total in a week to this post office to ship all my goods back home. It was literally 5 min away from my hotel and all the workers there were so friendly and helpful. My boxes all arrived in time to my friends and family. I love that the post office has on their priority large size boxes there "Aloha from Hawaii" on them. I strongly believe that staff from this Kahului Post Office should be rotated to other locations. Very unpleasant customer service. I think I will just avoid my trips to that horrible Kahului Post Office and instead I will go to Wailuku very pleasant customer service Post Office. read more

I have had bad pilikia with the Kahului post office for years. When I lived there, after long time I could finally get one of the workers to squeeze out a smile after I greeted them as friendly as possible. They would hold my mail and say it hadn't been sorted or was not there, when I knew it was. Now the same thing, I sent a package from the mainland, tracked it, it arrived Sun. Dec. 10, but they are telling the recipient that it isn't there yet. This time if they send it back to me saying that the person moved or didn't come for it I will report them. This package has time sensitive papers that need to be signed and notarized in a very timely manner and time is getting short. This playing games with the mail is a Federal 0ffense and needs to stop.
