This review is from someone from out of town who happened to be visiting Julian when realizing they had a package in the back seat of their car which was supposed to be mailed out that morning. Racing to the post office and arriving seconds before they closed (the door was locked right after walking through it), this certain someone found the staff here to be kind, accommodating, and helpful. Biggest complaint is their pickup for outgoing mail is 9:30 a.m. and they open at 9:00 a.m. weekdays and 10:00 on Saturday. I've never heard of a post office with this kind of cut off times for outgoing mail. Really hurts any small business trying to get Mail out to customers in a timely manner. read more

Even though julian California post office is under staff. They are friends outgoing and help is muchas they can. The post master I have seen and she has helped me . Before. absolutely the worst post office I've ever been in, the postmaster Isabel Maria is an absolute nightmare, she is unprofessional, disrespectful and not fit to be in a position of authority as it seems to have gotten to her head. I'm not going to get into the whole complaint as I've already followed through with consumer complaints at usps but she was very rude when I asked about a package that was not delivered. Well at the end of the screaming tirade she had she ended up hanging up the phone on me. So once again an absolute nightmare to deal with, especially when she as a postmaster should know how to de-escalate a situation not be the instigator. Good luck with this office read more

They were closed on Sunday but all I had was an envelope to drop off. The door was open to go in and this post office has a lot of PO Boxes for such a small town. The exterior design looks like this place has been around for more than 100 years which adds to the character of Old Town. read more

Here is an idea... actually let people know you are going to be closed by some public means besides leaving a paper on the door... People drive home from work as quickly and as safely as possible to pick up their mail by 4pm myself included. Please be better. Over the past year I have had over a 100 packages delivered and only 6 have been put out for me to collect on time( definition of on time: within two days of arrival, and yes I actually kept track). Several staff members are rude and not in a hurry to help anyone. When I left town for two weeks to go to my grandpa's funeral the lady told me they would close my box if ever went that long with out getting my mail. Which is ironic cause I think it usually takes that long for them to give me my packages. All I ask is to not to be threatened and be a little friendlier. Takes less time for Amazon to package and deliver my package than it does for this post office to put in my box or give me a package slip. read more

I really don't want to give them a 1 star rating but a ZERO star is not an option. I've read the other reviews and unlike one of the customers, I haven't lived here for 20 years but it's going on 4 for me. Ever since day one (literally, DAY ONE, I was in the Post Office the day we moved up from Oceanside getting our box and info set up), I experienced nothing but bad attitudes and workers that acted like they didn't want to be there and as if I was bothering them (THEN QUIT!!) What can you say when giving a bad review to describe how unacceptable it is when they don't even do their jobs!?!! After tracking packages and seeing that they were 'delivered' but being told it's not delivered yet and checking again the next day and getting it later than tracking said was delivered, I asked why this is. One postal worker (with the worst attitude) said they're under staffed and they can't get to all of the packages when they come in. Omg. What?! When you're expecting medication in the mail and pay extra for 2 day shipping, this is UNACCEPTABLE! Zero empathy. Zero care. But lots of stinky attitude as he walks off (a newish guy, white, thin, light brown/dark blonde hair, in his 40's/50's? Pretty nondescript white guy but can't miss his stinking DIVA attitude, smfh). Wolf. An employee named Wolf. Where do I begin. How did he get employed...ANYWHERE? He has the S L O W energy of a slug. Rocks for brains. Yesterday was the cake. I am a business owner and ship products to customers. I took the time to write "THIS SIDE UP" and "FRAGILE" on EVERY side and top of the boxes. After taking my packages, he PLOPS them onto the counter behind him. I let it go thinking it sounded harder than it was probably (cuz contrary to my review, I'm not confrontational 'B'). He then picks them up after taking my payment and drops them into a cart behind him. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? I asked him to please be careful because they're fragile. He said "Oh, did you mark that?" I said "Um, yes...all over the boxes!" I swear. A customer behind me starts to laugh. He asks if I packaged it really snug and with padding. I said "Yes I did but if you drop it or toss it like that, things will still break!" I have gone down the hill to the Poway PO where I know they're amazing in the past because this is exactly what I thought would happen at Julian. And yuuuuuppp! They lived up to their rinky dink small town no service reputation. I'll be taking all of my packages to Poway for sure. Hubby and I have talked about moving OUT of Julian. Time to move on. That will be a happy day. The downfalls of a small town outweigh the good here. One would think that small town means nicer people. A community. Not at all. Small town should not mean subpar products or service. But it is here, for sure. Ugh. read more

After living here for over 20 years and having good service by our local post office I have had the WORST service ever for the past month. I have been told my post office box has been closed and that an employee did it before they left . This has caused me many problems that I certainly do not welcome. According to Valerie Diaz, employee, my post box was closed and she knows why. They now want $60 plus $6 for keys for me to use my box. I have always had a free box and have filled out the proper paperwork every year. According to Ms. Diaz I have a size 2 box and must pay for this. I was assigned a post box over 20 years ago here. Going to the post office has become a nightmare now. Oh and good luck with their customer service site online. There is nowhere to contact an actual person.
