Some of the other moving companies I contacted never returned my voicemail. We got my move scheduled a few weeks before it was to happen. This was very easy with me discussing the details with Pam as well as texting her photos of the rooms and larger items. There were some blips in the delivery of the Pod and I am so grateful that Pam was able to reschedule with such short notice. Our move was a bit more complex. Double D's had to meet us at a location in Camp Hill to pick up a truck full of furniture. This was brought to our Harrisburg home. And then this as well as everything in our house was loaded into a 16 foot pod. Part of the reason I picked double D's was because of their glowing reviews and their ability to load a POD very tight. They exceeded expectations and used every bit of the pod from floor to ceiling. (A 16 foot POD is for a house up to 1400 ft.². This of course doesn't include your basement, attic, and garage.) They did an amazing job! We had a few items that did not fit and we expected this because a 16" pod is not as big as you expect it to be. (No big deal because we will drive them at another date to our new location.) They then drove these items back to the Camp Hill address where we could store them. The price was very fair. I found the Victorinox 250 at Country Knives on Wednesday and attempted to place an order through…read moretheir website. No matter what I tried, the checkout process would not work properly. Out of curiosity, I tested the inventory system by adding 100,000 knives and then 200,000 knives to my cart. The website actually allowed me to proceed to checkout with 300,000 knives, despite the fact that only 1,776 of these knives were ever produced. At that point, I decided to call the store the following day to verify that the business was legitimate and that the item was actually in stock. I spoke with the owner, Dave, about purchasing two Victorinox 250 knives and was told there was a limit of one per customer. I explained that I needed two and was advised to place the order online instead. When I pointed out that the knife retails for around $125 everywhere else, while their website listed it for $175, I was essentially told to take it or leave it. I was informed that they had three in stock and that I could purchase one for $175 plus $12 shipping, bringing the total to $187 for a knife that normally sells for about $125 with free shipping. The website itself continued to be problematic. It would not allow me to register an account, forcing me to check out as a guest. When I finally managed to place the order, the system allowed me to purchase two knives, which I needed as Father's Day gifts. Despite paying nearly $100 above retail for the two knives, I completed the purchase. Three days later, instead of receiving my order, I received an email demanding additional verification. I was asked to provide either a bank statement or my driver's license, along with additional credit card verification information, before my order would be processed. I was expected to send this sensitive personal information by email. Despite my concerns, I provided a bank statement with all sensitive information redacted and again explained that I needed two knives. When I followed up with a phone call on Monday, I was told that two of the knives had already been sold and that only one remained. I was then informed that because I had not provided my driver's license, my order would be canceled. His exact response was: "You're not getting any. I'm canceling your order." He then hung up on me. From Thursday through Monday, I got my order canceled after being asked to provide sensitive personal information. If you want to be asked for highly sensitive personal and financial information, enough to have your identity stolen or get brank fraud going since all of your info out in open and have your order canceled, Dave with his Country Knife store has you covered. I know I am not coming back and WILL make sure everyone knows about this business practices!

I used Skybox to move from Manayunk to Center City. These guys showed up ahead of time, and were…read moreright on moving. They did not take any breaks, worked super hard and got all my moving done really quickly. I was very impressed by their agility, and their hard work. Not only the service was fantastic, but the pricing was fantastic as well. Also, Matt the guy who will set you up in the calendar for moving was very quick at responding to my emails and remained communicated with me through the whole process. I would definitely use this guys again.

I waited two months to review this company because I needed some time to get over how much my…read moremoving process sucked with them. First of all, Matt was great at scheduling, giving an estimate, and answering questions. But since he didn't have anything to do with the actual moving process...I can't really say it mattered. I moved from a one bedroom in west philly to a center city apartment- pretty simple. The guys showed up late ~ 20 minutes late. I met them in the parking lot of my building because they couldnt figure out how to park their MASSIVE moving truck on their own. I came down and they were smoking cigarettes next to their graffiti covered vehicle. It took them at least another 15 minutes to actually park and come up to my apartment...where they realized they forgot the dolly. So they went back to their truck and couldn't find it...because they forgot it. So now we are about 45 minutes past my start time and they begin moving things... My mom and I actually helped them bring boxes to the elevator to bring down because we were already so far behind schedule. The process would have been so much faster if they had not forgotten a dolly, and I would not have felt like I had to help because I was paying for them to carry one box at a time down my hallway. Matt had told me that the crew would be able to give me a ride to the new apartment, and when I asked them they laughed and said "ummm there isn't much room but if you don't mind smoking then fine" I hate smoking...so I got a cab. When I got to my new apartment they arrived more than 20 minutes after me...smoking again. I had asked Matt if I needed to get them a parking permit for my new street because I knew my location was zoned- he said no it was fine. Then of course the crew got a parking ticket and whined about that while they moved my stuff into the new apartment. They chipped the side of my dining room table and snapped the hanging wire on the back of a large piece of wall art. Nothing else was damaged. The whole day sucked. They were unprofessional and unprepared. I really don't enjoy paying people by the hour to smoke cigarettes. I called Matt towards the end of the process to let him know that I was displeased with the service, especially forgetting the dolly since I knew it added a lot of time to my move and required my mom and I to help. He tried to make things better by knocking a little bit off of my bill. But all in all the whole thing was terrible. I would NEVER use skybox again.
