I explained my dilemma. And he kindly tracked the package. Got a hold of the carrier for that area. Updated the info personally. Then called me back to make sure I knew it was delivered. No one these days knows the meaning of customer service not simple communication or kindness. This gentleman who I wish I had his name. Put my mind at ease with just a few steps in his day to make sure his customer was completely satisfied. I hope everyone who needs help gets this guy. And I wish that just half of the post offices had this skills. Thank you sir for everything you did

I did a Silly Thing: I had Amazon send me a package to my AirBNB here in Ruidoso. I never thought…read morefor a moment that the package might be sent by USPS instead of UPS. When Amazon told me the package had been delivered, I realized my mistake. So, I texted the owner of the AirBNB, but he told me that he didn't have a mailbox here at all, because of it being a short-term rental. What to do? I went down to the Post Office on Mechem Drive, and was assisted by a gentleman named Frank. Frank took my information and enlisted the aid of another gentleman whose name I didn't get, but whom Frank called "Boss." Together, the two of them worked to locate my package and have it brought back to the Post Office where I picked it up in due course. What a great example of going "above and beyond" in Customer Service. It meant a lot to me to receive such professional and courteous and effective service. Thank you, Frank and Boss!! (By the way, you'll notice that this is posted under a different name, but it's still me, the fat old guy with the bum leg! Thanks again!)

Trying to give some grace as I don't know how many people were working here this day but my…read moregoodness. The line was soooooo long. People walked in and immediately walked out because of how long the line was and because of how big the package drop off pile was. People were concerned about where to leave the package and whether it would be seen or fall off the overflowing pile. Some people were there only to buy stamps. What a wild time to wait almost an hour to only buy stamps. I was there because a package was allegedly delivered to my mailbox but it wasn't and there wasn't a parcel locker key left nor was it left at my door. The idea that I had to track down my package and still never receive it is wild to me. The post office is sad, poorly lit, and depressing inside. Honestly, not my favorite place and I genuinely go out of my way to not go to any post office or use USPS. The service is so unreliable. I wish I had something good to say but I simply don't.

They said it would be 2-3 weeks. After about 3 months of telling me they are super behind. Then they tell me I'm non postal and hire a locksmith to do it. My husband calls around. No one will touch it since it's government property. Then they said they will just have their supervisor change it. It's been over 4 months and I just got my keys on January 15th 2026. The workers were always super nice BUT that's just a ridiculous timeframe. You shouldn't be allowed to do that to people. It's such an inconvenience and there's literally nothing I could do about it but take it. I really hope y'all get your crap together so no one else has to go through what I did.
