Maybe they could do their job and stop being so wasteful. I guess there is a reason they lose billions of dollars a year. I was told that I could use the priority mail express envelopes if they are out of the regular priority mail envelopes, however, they put a return to sender note on it and I got it back saying I had to use the correct one. Weeeeelllll, now I am going to have to open it, throw it in the trash and use a prioirty mail envelope plus have to waste another piece of paper to print the label. All said, two envelopes used, two pieces of paper used and the mail carrier has to handle the item twice instead of once. This could have used half the supplies, effort, and time but they had to prove their point since someone is clearly a control freak with an inferiority complex at the post office. I will also be "wasting" my time to drive over there to make a personal complaint with the manager to let them know how ridiculous and wasteful they are being. read more

My usps delivery at my home stopped for a MONTH!! During this time, I filed a ticket with the federal site with all of the necessary details, received a ticket number and was di to my home post office. I called every number at my post office and got the "mail box full" message! Next way to address the problem was to physically go stand in line at the post office. I did that and to my shock was I for that "oh, we don't answer those numbers anymore as we do t feel we can be of any help with any matters" Please drive to this address. I drove out of town to that facility, a mail handling annex. The woman at the counter said she had no clue but would speak with my "carrier" .. please come back another day. I told her we did not have a regular carrier and our mail was delivered anytime between 10am and 6pm. I returned the next day to her not knowing anything. It was time for the supervisor to get involved. I asked for help....... Very l o n g story shortened: the supervisor determined that my mail had "accidentally" been placed on hold instead on one of my neighbors... non of my neighbors were away for a month... but, oh well. They were very sorry and work deliver my mail the next day. I find this entire experience horrible: the LOCAL POST OFFICE LACK OF ENGAGEMENT IN THEIR QUALITY is horrendous. I have a PO BOX at the Fourth Street Location, the workers are friendly efficient, my mail is delivered to my box in a timely manner. The rental price for the box is more than I would like to pay, however I would rather pay the current prices keeping the better customer service available at this location. Thank you USPS! read more

I decided to go with a PO BOX when I moved to a shared residence. I didn't feel it was the neighbors responsibility to keep track of my mail in I'll I could get to it. I work swing shifts and thought this would work out really well being on my way home. Plus there would always be parking! When did the post office start locking the doors to the boxes? And at 5:15 pm? That's the only time I can find. I always remember being able to access the boxes. The UPS Store gives you a key so you can get in after hours. The only reason(s) I went with USPS is it is closer to home and supposed to be open! read more

I would rate less than 1 star if that was an option. I am 76 years old and don't drive any more. I rely on reliable delivery people to get all necessities of life to me. USPS said they had twice tried to deliver a package to me on December 14th that required a signature. I was home. I am always home. and my chair is 4' from the door. If anyone had knocked, I would have heard it. I scheduled a Re delivery for the 17th. I also signed the first notice where it said signature. I put that on the door with a sign directing them to the right door. They didn't come yesterday although I did get a email saying an attempt to deliver had failed. I got a second email saying that they tried to deliver today at 6:30 AM and no one was home to sign. I was here, awake and sitting 4' from the door. No one knocked. There was a slip in my mail box telling me to pick it up at the 4th Street post office. I physically can't do this and would swear under oath no attempt was made to re-deliver myy package per the arrangements I made with USPS. read more

Super clean, pleasant staff, and they even have quite a few stations to open your mail if you have a PO Box there. I consistently get people's mail that isn't mine, so who knows if they post your name on the other side of the box, but they do have a drop box by the main mail boxes for that. As per usual, it is super busy during lunch hours, and from about 4 until close. Note: They have several '10 minute' parking spaces on 4th street. There is almost always a line out the door, literally! It doesn't matter what time of day or what season it is, there is always a huge line and several unattended work stations. The workers are friendly enough, but unless you have twenty minutes to kill I recommend using a different post office. I feel sorry for people with bosses that send them to the post office on their lunch hour. Here's my quick tip: If you're sending a package and print and apply the label yourself, you can "cut" the line and drop it off at the first station right inside the door. read more

Just applied for a new passport. Had tried twice before at the Palm Springs, Calif Post Office but got so frustrated with the process and staff I never got the application submitted. Went in today at the Grand Junction Post Office to apply again. In and out in 15 minutes. Best customer service ever. Kerri was nothing but professional and polite. I am super disappointed in the mail person that delivers mail on orchard mesa, I have the app that tells me what mail is to be delivered, and she has not been delivering my mail or my husband's mail he has been waiting on his final stimulus check for weeks, our mail person has also been returning letters sent to me from my brother and other friends and relatives, I was supposed to receive a letter from my bank and from Amazon yesterday an I have not received it. I try to call the post office my mail starts at and no one ever answers and the voicemail is full so there is no way to leave a voicemail. I am not sure what is going on with my mail but I would definitely like some kind of answer about where and why our mail is not being delivered. I would also like to know who I need to speak with in order to resolve this issue. read more

This has been our Post Office for 30+ years. We have always put up with long lines at the counter due to insufficient staffing, but yesterday was a total disappointment. The clerk who waited on us was incredibly rude. She refused to answer a question I had about the automated postal machine, so, thinking she hadn't heard me, I repeated the question and received a snarky reply. When our transaction was completed I thanked her, and, you guessed it, stone silence. I thanked her again, and again, silence. As a retired retailer I am very aware of good customer service. This review is long overdue. I never met Nicky but she restored my faith in the U.S. Postal Service. She helped track my package that contained important documents destined to my daughter at the local university, and had it finally delivered to where it was originally intended. Due to a clerical error by a postal clerk at the San Francisco branch, and my failure to catch it, a package containing employment verification documents, was being bounced from Longmont to Denver and back again over 6 days, all due to an incorrect barcode with a 80501 zip code. After days of trying to connect with the Longmont branch and no success, I was eventually connected to Nicky at the Grand Junction branch who said she would have someone at the Longmont branch scratch out the bar code and have it shipped to her the following day. That, she did and thankfully, she ensured it was delivered to the address listed on the package, the day she received! Thank you, Nicky! read more

Tried to call for redelivery, nobody answers. They won't come past the gate because we have a dog. The dog is friendly and I facebooked them to tell them this (couldn't get in touch with anyone any other way). Today, the mail comes and no certified delivery letter. I went in to return a few articles of clothing. The company I bought from offers "free returns" where they send you the scannable code on your device. I usually do this at UPS where they bag the item for you so I didn't think that USPS would be any different. I should have read the directions more carefully because the company did specify that I needed to bring the items packaged. That was my bad. When I told the lady what I was doing she looked at me like I was stupid and rudely said "well you need pay to bag these items!" "Ok" I said "what's my cheapest option?" The postal worker literally told me "I don't know" and pointed me to the huge array of packaging in the lobby. I don't do this ever so I felt extremely lost. She wasn't helpful one bit, and not only that, extremely rude! Then she proceeds to tell me that she's never seen one of these (the scannable code on my phone for the shipping label) before. Really? In this day and age I find that very hard to believe. Anyways, I left in tears and it was a terrible experience. I hope I never have to do return shipping with the Unites States Postal service again! The carrier delivering to my address frequently leaves my neighbors mail in my box (sometimes vice versa) despite my frequent notes informing him/her "Not at this address". I used to hand carry the mail to my neighbor but not anymore, I make the carrier take it to the correct address with a note attached. Our U.S. Post Office may be fine in Grand Junction, but our mail person leaves much to be desired. She just stuffed an envelope into our box and bent a book inside. At the same time she delivered a small box to the porch. Now why couldn't she have brought the envelope to the front door too? This is not the first time she has done something like this. We have even talked to her about when she delivers a package to the door, bring all the mail. Usually it is no big deal, but this time she bent a book meant as a gift. There, I got that off my chest. We also see this person going up and down the street the same day because she misses things and has to go back. What kind of training do they give? This person has been our mail person for over a year. We miss our old person! And we miss the sub they had for our old person but he didn't get this route because he didn't have the seniority even though he knew the route better. This gal is hopeless. read more

Truly impressive customer service at the counter. I went in with a box to mail. The clerk calculated that it would cost $25 to ship as is, but after I described what was inside, he gave me all the necessary materials (tape, box, etc.) to re-pack my items right there into a smaller Postal-service box that I could ship for $14, and then gave me a bunch of boxes like that one, for free. I put my mail on hold in august and it is now oct 12, and I have no idea where my mail went and have not received any of my mail that was on hold or that was suppose to be forwarded. When we called to get info on how to retrieve our package we could never get a person on the phone despite 5 calls to 3 different offices. It would be better if I could select zero stars! Don't bother trying to call the so-called "carrier supervisor's" desk at the Grand Jct CO main Post Office at 241 N 4th Street 81501 if you have any sort of delivery issues. The supervisor phone number is not answered, it finally goes to voice mail but the "mailbox is full." You then get routed to the automated system for the station which tells you about service hours and tells you which number to push if you have a "delivery issue." THEN it routes you right back to the carrier supervisor phone which is never answered and has a full message mailbox!! How very US Postal disService-like - they don't WANT to hear your problem because you will eventually give up and they won't have to listen to your problem! Forget the stupid "800" number unless you want a 60+ minute wait time.....AND for the past 2 days the online system hasn't been "available" either!! No private business would EVER survive when treating customers this way - but we have NO CHOICE!! TIME TO PRIVATIZE!!! read more
