This location is constantly busy but they handle everything in a quick manner. The staff has consistently been helpful and friendly considering how I've seen a lot of patrons treat them. The prices they charge to mail things seem a bit high, but I think that's just the mailing service everywhere. When I had to get a passport a few months ago they told me their appointments were months out. I got an appointment at the Evergreen Post Office within a few days and had my passport within 2 weeks. Their exterior and interior are also in desperate need of upkeep. Everything seems unkept and outdated. Overall, service is good and their location is convenient. read more

Golden Post Office I've used the Golden Post Office for a long time, and lately it just hasn't been the same. Every time I'm in there, the staff looks worn down and frustrated, and it's noticeable. From conversations I've overheard while waiting in line, a lot of the issues seem to point back to management under Postmaster Levi. Employees talk about being pushed to work very late, being discouraged from using sick leave during the holidays, and even being told they don't really "earn" sick leave the way most people would expect. As a customer, that's concerning to hear. I've also heard repeated complaints about route changes that don't seem well thought out and could put carriers in unsafe situations, especially with traffic and walking routes around town. There are also contract workers who don't seem to be treated or paid fairly. I've tried stopping by a few times to speak with Levi directly, but he never seems to be there. Calling the office hasn't helped either -- no one answers. Communication feels nonexistent. When employees are clearly stretched too thin and unsupported, it shows in the service. I hope someone higher up takes a serious look at what's going on, because this office used to run much better than it does now. read more

There were 2 people ahead of me when I arrived, one was being helped at the counter and the other one was waiting to be helped. Thanks was one representative on duty who was helping the customer with their passport. Before long another representative arrived and apologized for the delay and was appeared to be trained in customer service. She also apologized to me for the delay and after she scanned my prepaid package, she handed me my receipt with the tracking number highlighted. All in all I had a positive experience here. read more

I had a challenging experience trying to mail a calendar gift to two family members post-Christmas, in early 2024. I don't go to the post office, like... ever. So I'm unfamiliar with how to mail packages. I was vaguely aware that there is a cost by weight, and that there are also prepaid flat-rate envelopes one can use for something like these calendars. When I entered the building, I immediately saw the kiosk, and thought I could quickly use it to get my calendars on their way. I navigated the screens, trying my best to understand the questions and answer them correctly. How hard can this be, after all, when I have something I want to mail, and I have the names and addresses of the folks who should receive them? It turns out that I managed to make incorrect selections, and after dropping the boxes through the slots in the wall, the staff let me know that my family would have to pay COD when they received them. I clearly needed help to resolve this problem correctly, but the staff did not seem to empathize with my ignorance. I ended up paying the postage twice, and left the facility feeling frustrated. A better approach on my part would have been to enlist the staff's help in determining the best way to mail my packages in the first place, but I do wish someone had been able to help me through the steps on the kiosk, as I did not find the process to be intuitive. read more

The folks in the post office are very nice and helpful, however the mail delivery is horrible. Our mail is delivered between 7-10 pm (if they have time), mail is constantly delivered to the wrong address, and a Priority food box shipped on 1/3 from Westminster, CO that was supposed to be delivered today has yet to arrive. The postman said it would probably arrive Monday or Tuesday - gee, thanks! I could have driven there in 25 minutes, which I will do in the future. I usually book a package pickup and the mail carrier picks up 99% of the time. But, despite not fulfilling a scheduled pickup, they sent a confirmation email that it was done. They didn't even deliver our mail that was supposed to arrive as per Informed Delivery. I have an online business that fast shipping time matters. Don't call them, nobody picks up. Don't go downtown and don't call USPS's National number. They will all lead you astray and you'll get pretty annoyed. I noticed this post office had bad reviews, and was extremely surprised! Then once I looked at them, the bad ones are from a year or longer ago. We recently started using this as our post office and we LOVE it here. Each staff member is nice and efficient. The first time we even went in, my husband and I discussed how it was probably our best experience we have ever had with a post office. Kristin was the person who bemoaned us over and was already rolling her eyes, and belittling me and my family about our passport documents. Her mood and attitude towards me and my family was foul, vile, and completely unprofessional. To initiate a meeting with someone new with such a foul attitude was absolutely disgusting to my family and I. Does anyone at this post office know or even care about what they are doing? Lazy mail persons for our apartment community refuse to deliver packages or priority envelopes to our apartment. I was expecting a one day priority envelope, signature required. The mail person reported that he had attempted to deliver it but he did not! The supervisor at the post office said it was a mistake and guaranteed it would be hand delivered to me later in the day. It wasn't! I found the envelope in my mailbox about 6 pm. This post office is horrible. In the past 2.5 years they have lost 7 packages. The lastest (which makes #8) was supposed to be delivered at my PO Box at their facility on Saturday. I waited for the delivery notice and checked it Saturday evening, they actually sent it to another post office. This post office obviously rejected this and I got a notice on Monday saying that my package is "availabile for pickup" at the post office location. I went there this morning. The guy was NO HELP, he NEVER is. He went in the back and said "it's not here so if it gets delivered it will be to your PO BOX". I told him it says it was available for pickup. I never got the package. Don't know where it is and he was no help. He uses no fact finding to try to help someone. I saw him do another elderly like that in front of me so I knew I was also going to have the same horrible experience. AVOID this place at all costs. They are awful. read more

Dealing with the people in this Post Office is one of the worst experiences of my life. After one waits in line for 15 to 30 minutes, they will give you forms to fill out, then you have to get out of line to fill them out. After filling out forms one must get back in line to submit them. The forms better be right or you'll be out of line again and then you will have to correct and get back in line. I really have never been treated so poorly by any organization that depends on customers to stay in business. The people are very rude. The parking lot has holes all in it and they refuse to fix. The stairs for the back entrance have been trashed for years, with yellow tape blocking the entrance. I recommend that you go to the downtown Golden Post Office or UPS before stepping foot in this station, but if you like to waste your time and be treated poorly, then this Johnson Rd Post Office is the one for you. read more

Just wasted an hour round trip with my one year old and my husband trying to do a passport appointment for the baby. Waze told us it was the parking lot before (veterans building complex), and after parking and realizing that was wrong, we huffed it next door on foot with the car seat, waited in the lobby for a human to come out, then an older lady with short hair came out and told us we were late and she wouldn't do it. Fine, the walking between buildings made us five minutes late, then another two minutes waiting in the lobby for her to come out and tell us to leave in the most rude way I've ever encountered. We have been living in the same house for 26 years now and had excellent service up until a year ago. Our letter carrier retired. Since then have had mail and parcels delivered to the wrong address, and gotten other people's mail. Now we have been without mail delivery for two days. I like this post office, and 1100 is the correct address according to the post office website. I manage to get in and out pretty quickly every time I go, and it seems that the employees are nice and pretty competent, which is a nice change from other locations (ahem, Lakewood). I like to use their drive through drop-off lane, but it's a tight fit to turn right into, and I wonder if trucks can do it without running over the curb/grass. This is my preferred post office, and the one my mail comes from, so I'm sure I'll be back. **********Previous review from their other address********** My son and I stopped in a few days before Christmas, 2013. It was quite busy, but it seemed like they had extra people on hand to get things taken care of. We probably had ten people in line in front of us, but it was smooth sailing and it didn't seem to take too long to get to the front. The woman who helped me took my letter authorizing me to get mail without an issue, as it had all the information the employee on the phone told me I would need. She also extended the mail hold without making me jump through hoops. All in all, this is a nice post office and I'd rather come here than to the one in Lakewood (by the Federal Center). read more

Horrible service. Monkeys could do a better job. They lost a package that I was expecting. Never updated tracking information, tracking just stopped updating over 2 weeks ago. Because of the COVID I figured I was more lenient than I normally would be, so I give them a few extra days. The tracking info has been unchanged for 2 weeks. I follow their protocols and submitted an online tracking request. I got a form letter from Gino Portanova at the Johnson office stating "thanks we got your inquiry". Then nothing. No one calls, no one emails. I submitted my inquiry on Monday, then on Thursday, still no updates I tried to call, stuck in automated hell with their phone system, and no person ever answers. Fed up I finally drive down to the actual Johnson post office to look someone in the eye and ask them what happened. The lady behind the desk tells me to log an inquiry online, the ineptitude of these people is astounding. I explain the entire situation. She goes in back to see if she can find my package. A few minutes later she comes out and tells me she spoke directly to the carrier who remembers, 2 weeks back, that she delivered my package to my neighbor. I call b___s___! She can remember 2 weeks ago my specific package? Really? She has that great a memory but she can't remember to update the tracking info? They lost my package, delivered it to the wrong location, never updated any tracking info, and ignored all attempts at communication. These people should not be trusted. No one could believe that the service from the postmaster at the Golden Post Office could get any worse. Six months ago I complained about packages not be delivered. It continues to happen with no resolution in site. The Postmaster is apparently quite incompetent and should be removed from his position for an ability to problem solve. Not only are packages and parcels not being delivered, I've made two trips to this location to discuss the issue. Still no resolution. This is a public servant who could care less and is probably holding on to get his pension and retirement for his utter incompetence. read more

6/11/2016. The only reason I gave a star is because I had to give something. I would have given negative ten stars if I could have. I placed four pieces of mail in the stamped letters box on Tuesday. Two pieces of the mail were directly to a p.o. box at this location. As of Friday they were not delivered. I went to this post office this morning to replace the checks that were lost and to talk about why I was concerned about my missing mail. The young man whose name tag only said trainee was very helpful and apologized for the inconvenience. Then the snarky smart mouthed clerk next to him decided to jump in and take her chance to be the rude nasty employee of the government we have all been trained to expect. She informed me that if I had used the "misboxed mail" container instead of the stamped letters box it would have been Golden to Golden. Since I used the stamped letters box it had to be routed to Denver and then all the way back. What a messed up deal. No wonder they're going broke. They are handling the same mail at the same location two or three times to get it to a p o.box that is in the location it is mailed from. Not a very efficient system at all. It reminds me of a great example of a horrible idea. Epic Fail. Their messed up system and secret Golden to Golden mailbox ended up costing me $135 to place stop payments on the checks and pay late fees due to their inept and careless handling of my mail and I have no recourse. I have called at least 3 times in the morning and no one bothers to answer the phone. When I went in to the post office I had to use a dolly to bring my large carton in. I am a senior citizen and the lady at the desk asked me if I could put the large carton on the counter. Seriously?? I had to use a dolly to bring it in. She finally told me to leave it and she would have someone get it. Asked her since I had a prepaid label on it if I needed anything else. She told me no the label was good enough. Well wonderful.
