True story: I was in the Dogwood post office yesterday, at one of the two functioning counters after a fairly long wait in line. Some dude--maybe 18 or 19--walks up to the other counter, plunks down a brown paper sack of what sounded like nuts and bolts, and declares, "I've never mailed anything before. Can I just put some stamps on this and mail it?" Swear to Zeus, this happened. I wanted to take three sidesteps and knock the dumbassery out of him, but figured anybody that has attained the age of majority and is that ignorant of a quotidian task probably clings to that ignorance with mighty desperation, the way I cling to the armrests of my seat the entire time that I'm in an airplane that isn't motionless. Look. Great customer service doesn't include suffering the hijinks of people too stupid to find their ass with both hands and Rand McNally providing helpful hints. Those people are thieves of my time and the time of every other customer. Instead of giving them instructions in excruciating detail, a terse, "No, put the bag in an envelope, address it, then bring it back" would suffice. Or call a manager to deal with people like that. I didn't get to hear everything that was said betwixt the PO guy and the idjit, because I had six packages to mail and was engaged in adult activities. The dude was still getting schooled when I walked out, though. As I intimated in my previous review, it's primarily the brain-dead customers who roll up into this location that are the problem here. I have a solution, if only the USPS will listen. Install some TVs in the lobby that play instructional cartoons...make them colorful and noisy and full of rapid motion, the sorts of things that attract and mesmerize morons and small children. No "Thank you!" required. I'm just helpful like that. read more

It's not the main USPS in Milton that is problematic, it's the mail carriers! I live in Arbor Place in Pace with mailboxes/package boxes at the entrance. We had a GREAT mailman up until a few months ago and no idea where he is. Prior to and after him the mail is a mess! Packages not placed in the correct box with a key that doesn't match. Package shows delivered but it's not there. This happens weekly! Postmaster: please look into this now! The mail carriers are obviously not paying attention to detail. Mail prices just increased again but the service is in the toilet!! read more

Apparently shoving and wedging a package into a mailbox by breaking the item, the box and mailbox is acceptable. I can't even get this box out that the USPS carrier shoved in! Today is the 10th time...yes, the 10th time in less than 4 months that I have had mail or a package lost, most of the times, saying that it had been delivered but wasn't. This is beyond ridiculous! I went up to the post office 8n milton, to talk to them about a money order that was sent to me in October that I yet have received. I've called there twice with no help. The clerks couldn't help me so I requested to speak to the manager, he come out about 15 minutes later very rude said if I wouldn't have "pissed" his "clerk" off she was only one that could have helped me, cause he doesnt work with my problem.... really? Then why is he managing? I had a package misdelivered to another address and after getting the run around for TWO WEEKS about my package the careless & unprofessional supervisor said "there's nothing we can do" How can you be in the customer service field and have ZERO customer service skills. Not to mention, I still don't have my package and I'm out the money I spent. When I asked about it being a crime to not only open but steal mail the same USELESS supervisor said "it's not like we have police that work for us". So if you don't properly deliver packages, and you clearly don't take responsibility for the mistakes that you've made, what exactly are they doing there? The customer service is horrible; the mailman openly admits to misdelivering your mail and nothing ever improves; the supervisor is utterly useless and unprofessional. My delivery person and the counter people are terrific.... the manager is an absolute rude, inconsiderate, obnoxious person. Refused to give me the name of the post master, told me 2 day delivery was not guaranteed, that my business's mail not being picked up wasn't his problem and he was going to bother the postmaster with this. Luckily, the nice lady at the desk gave it to me. This man has NO people skills, obviously thinks that basic post office rules don't apply to him and now insists that people pay forn2 day priority are not going to get it anyway. I applied and paid to have my mail forwarded by the post office. I moved from Milton to Pace. Today makes 2 months since that request was made, I have not received a single item. Did not receive my usual bills, nothing! Somewhere is my mail, called postal service twice and they told me it was going to be sent to district office. Still no word on what could be the mishap, have to wonder if the newer post master is failing too. read more

TERRIBLE, and that is being generous. Both the employees at the post office and the carriers delivering mail........................Just WOW. The level of audacity these people have is mindblowing. Carriers allowed to refuse to deliver anything they can't shove (and I do mean CRAM, to the point of breaking things) into my mailbox, for over 6 months with no resolution from the PO. Having to go pick up on Saturday when the lines are slow-moving and long, the counter people are normally rude as heck, just because the carrier is allowed to refuse to do the BARE MINIMUM of her job is utterly petty and unprofessional. I shouldn't have to choose between sh!tty help/service and having to go pay for a post office box (somewhere else, NEVER at the Milton location) when the mail is supposed to be delivered directly to my home......ridiculous. read more

I always seem to get there and hour before closing and the line is an hour-long. I am sure they are only busy about 1 to 2 hours a day but it's nice to have them there when you need to. It desperately needs a facelift but I think with budget cuts it will not ever get one. I hope they never close but it can be something that will happen in the future. This is hands down the worst post office ever. Their issues are not new, nor have they been fixed. I have had the "pleasure" of dealing with this fine establishment for 9 Years now. Major warning-if you are ordering live chicks, DO NOT HAVE THEM SENT HERE. the first time they never called me. I called multiple times and they said that non arrived. Three days later they "found" them in the back-all dead. The next time-they had them outside because they "didn't want to hear them". This was also when it was very cold. Luckily I was such a bug that I bothered them until they admitted that they had them. I was at least able to save some. Now, we are moving (thank God) and I called with some questions regarding mail holds and forwarding. I had already talked to the usps customer service line. They directed me to speak to the post master there because he would be able to help me some more. Nope. He was rude, on the verge of yelling, condescending and just flat out miserable. My husband went to talk to the post office on base since the Milton one was no help on the matter. The ladies (as in employees) there all agreed that Milton is the worst PO to deal with. They said to avoid it at all costs because they "mess everything up". Be warned. Don't waste your time here. The lines are long and slow. Go to the Bagdad PO if you can when it comes to mailing packages etc. read more

A couple weeks ago, I ordered a package from Victoria Secret. Victoria Secret is really good about giving you a tracking number and so I excitedly tracked my package. My package "arrived" really fast making it to the Milton Post Office in just a couple days but whenever it was taken out for delivery it was forwarded to a previous address. I didn't understand where my package was going and so, I called the Milton Post Office. I talked to a really helpful (or so I thought at the time) postal worker who explained that a forward from over a year ago was still active for some reason and my package was being forwarded to a previous address. He explained that he would make sure the forward was cancelled and that the package would be forwarded to my new address (the original address it was supposed to be delivered to.) He told me it might take a while because when packages are forwarded they have to go through Tampa. I still don't understand why I hadn't had trouble getting packages to this address until now. I have no idea why packages forwarded from Pace to Pensacola that actually need to be back in Pace have to go through Tampa... but I accepted that I would get my package it would just be delayed. A little irritating but really not a big deal. Yesterday morning, I received an email that my package was being returned to the sender. It was an automated email that asked I not reply to it and if I had any further questions please jump through all these hoops to speak to real live person. I was officially getting upset. I called Victoria Secret's customer service line and they were really helpful. They sent my items again, except oops! Three of the items I ordered have now been discontinued and there's no way to get them sent back to me. Victoria Secret is currently in the process of refunding my money and sending my other items to me via FEDEX, because do I really ever want to deal with USPS again? Definitely not. I called the Milton Post Office back and spoke to the Postmaster to make a complaint. Saying he was rude would be an egregious understatement. He half-assed listened to me explain what had happened and that I was upset that I was told something by one of his postal workers that didn't happened and now my items are discontinued and I won't be receiving them. "Okay," he said, "I don't understand why that means you can't get your items sent again." Frustrated, I said "Okay, what about discontinued do you not understand?" He told me to have a nice day and hung up. So, to the Milton Post Office, I will not be ordering anything through you again. I will pay the extra money to have my items sent via FedEx. I completely understand the headlines the past few years exclaiming that the postal service is struggling and that stamps are rising in cost. No one wants to use your dreadful service. I'm really disappointed in your customer service skills and the fact that you refuse to say a simple "Sorry, we screwed up. How can we make this a better experience for you?" The simple answer is you can't. The damage has been done, but a simple apology for poor customer service skills sure would go a long way. read more

o.k. How hard is it to deliver a package that is plainly marked with the address, yet my mail is constantly getting delivered next door and it gets opened "by mistake". I have lived at this address over 8 years, now this year they can not get my packages to my door. I am beyond angry. I order very personal items, I do not appreciate the delivery service or my nosy neighbor. I've even not gotten items at all....wonder where, who got those. The US post Office in Milton Florida is the the worst post office I have ever seen. We went on vacation and had our mail help for pickup on returning home and were missing four days out out of seven and went into the post office three times with no assistance! We talked to the post master and he said he would bring it to our house or call us and that did not happen. They had jokes posted on their manager board and think delivery of the mail is a joke. We went to the US PS compliment department and was told they could do nothing and to get with our local Post Office. The Milton Post Office needs new management and this ida federal office and needs federal attention. They also lost a package and never did find it and there is no recovery process. The Milton Post Office is broken and needs to be fixed! The Federal Government needs to take over until it is fixed. read more

I was expecting two packages today, I've been waiting in my living room all Morning, no knock no nothing, then low and behold I track the packages and there is delivery exceptions, States they tried to deliver and no one home... .lies been right here. I called dogwood usps and told same thing. I got nothing in mailbox for the attempted delivery, nothing on my door and nothing at apt complex office. So rep said she would call driver and hung up. The guys that works there, Art, should be fired. I was in there waiting in line behind this older lady, I had walked in when she was telling him he was being rude. He insisted he wasn't rude (while actually being VERY rude at this point) and she got so upset she started crying. The supervisor that was there, was standing right next to him laughing and smiling with him. I don't know if he was rude to her to begin with because I wasn't in there, but I was in there to witness these bullies laughing at her crying, leading to her walking out. We have lived in this area of Milton for 4 years now and have had problems with our mail being delivered to the wrong addresses the whole time. We also get others mail continually and frequently. We are nice enough to drive to the correct address and deliver it. The mail is usually delivered to the right numbers but the wrong streets. We have numerous times contacted the post office and those we have spoken to have been very supportive of our problem, hense the two stars. Our last call to the P.O. was about two weeks ago. Since then we have had three more letters, three different addresses, delivered to our address. No change. I believe everyone is trying, however with postage continuing to go up, maybe it should go down since we are doing their work? read more

DON'T send your pkgs with this Post Office GO to the one located at 4629 Forsyth St, Milton or Pensacola. I sent a Priority Box (2 day) out on 12/02/15 at 10:19 am as of now 12/7/15 time 4:38 pm per the usps tracking so called website the pkg is now out for delivery, I don't think the pkg will get delivered even today. Yes it does have Christmas goodies inside do I really think its okay to eat NOOOOOO. Called this Post Office and rec NO satisfaction. My mail was being held while I was on vacation. On my hold request it specifically states that I will pick up the accumulated mail at the POST OFFICE. Get to the post office, and guess what? I'm told to go to the Pace ancillary office. Last time I checked, that's not a post office. I asked if they could double check, and they refused. You're better off having a neighbor check our mail for you, as our tax dollars are clearly doing no good. read more

I own a business and mail hundreds of packages a week. I have used 6 post office locations in the area, often having to drive all the way to Mary Esther, to TRY to get my packages delivered. Milton has been by far the absolute worst location! The managers/supervisors are all incredibly rude. I have called or stopped in with numerous packages showing 2-6 weeks late on tracking, a whole truck load of packages that were burned in their truck, and items that I stood in line and checked in, but showing absolutely NOTHING on tracking a week or more later. They never have an explanation or offer to try to help or look into it. I have tried to speak to the "head boss" as the employees call him, and he won't even make eye contact. He has never once spoken to me, not so much as glanced at me, even when I was asking for help. I have never once received a shipping refund for dozens of missing packages, or even so much as an apology for my items that were on their truck that burned. When I remade the 48 items that were lost on that truck and rushed them back to get them mailed, their, janitor I believe, locked up 3 minutes early and refused to take the packages. I am an EVERY day customer and they destroyed my products at 100% my cost. The last time that I attempted to resolve things with a manager there, she said, "Maybe you should mail your packages out of Baghdad, if you are not satisfied with the service here." How about some accountability? I pay you for a service that claims it will take my item and deliver it to the address on the label. If you can't do your job, the least you would do is apologize for it. This manager on that last call was so rude, I complained about her all the way up to Consumer Affairs!!! I have been dealing with this office for about a year. It is several miles from my home, yet, I drive all the way to Navarre, Davis Ave. Pensacola, or Mary Esther (50 minute commute each way) to mail packages now to avoid the Milton location's rudeness and lack of ability to check in a product and have it actually arrive to it's location. (I have problems with most other locations, but NOTHING compares to the terrible service I constantly received at this location.) Lastly, before I paid for a post office box out in Navarre, I never once received a returned package. They mysteriously just get lost, never arrive, and are never returned. The week that I got the post office box, I began to receive returned packages and almost all of the lost or undelivered packages are finally being returned to me rather that just being lost. read more

Last week I submitted a Hold Mail request because I was going on vacation for a week. I checked the box that said Do Not Deliver Any Mail Until Hold Mail Is Picked Up. When I returned home last night I checked my mail box and it was full of mail.
