I would like to tell you all about the AMAZING EXPERIENCE I had yesterday with Miss Karen and Mr. Antonio they were Exceptionally Warm Kind and Patience with my mom and I . My mom and I arrived during the thunderstorm and their customer service was magnificent. Miss Karen was patient. She smiled. She was very warm and affectionate to me and my mom . Worst post office on the planet. There's no air condition inside, so it feels like you're in a greenhouse. They only had one staff member who wasn't even wearing a uniform. It took him 30 minutes to type in an address, because he put in one key at a time like it was his first time using a computer or the English language. This postal service center seems to be a black hole for packages. I had a package being sent to me (in California) from Chicago. Oddly enough, it ended up at this Capitol Heights postal center. Judging by all the negative comments about this center, I have some suspicions about why so many packages fail to pass through here in a timely manner. I believe the poor service at this center needs to be brought to the attention of the Postal Inspector. Perhaps I'll file a complaint against this center and see what result I get. read more

I raced to this post office on a Saturday morning because I had a time sensitive document that needed to be mailed out. I got there at 11:57, they close at 12, I know I was pushing it. But I expected the lobby to still be open for the last 3 minutes. The postal worker was standing at the door and would not let me in. If I could give zero stars I would. In all fairness, the people who work there seem nice and helpful enough but it's completely mismanaged. The outside looks a complete mess. I track most of my packages & have informed delivery & I have to go inside days after my mail was suppose to arrive to retrieve my mail. No notice left at my home that they tried to deliver the mail. This is the worst post office ever. The grounds look unkeep, the tellers glass broken, only one teller working. I'm mailing my bills early and the bills are overdue for non delivery from this post office. My Pepco bills are coming back undeliverable from this post office. I don't think they are processing customers mail. Your bills are doubling because this post office and/or mail person is either not bringing the mail to the post office, they losing your mail, or just poor management getting mail out. These people who work here are the worst. I waited in line for 13 minutes and the line was not moving. One teller was counting money in her drawer. Another teller was periodically coming back to her machine punching something then walking away. The only other teller was sorting mail. As I stood there in the line that was not moving, I politely asked the nicest teller (which was hard to determine who was the nicest teller) what was going on? She shared with me their machines were shut down. Wow! How long were they going to let the line build up before they shared this information with the patrons in the lobby? I looked at her with disbelief and wondered why any of these people have jobs. Every time I have been to this location, they were impatient, rude, snappy, even unwilling to provide information to help one make the best decision. Considering there are so many people out of work and desire a job, I have to wonder why they still employed? They have a job because patrons of Capitol Heights, MD use their services. If it were not for us patrons they would not be there, so why do they treat us so poorly, and why is it allowed? read more

Filing a complaint with Postal Service Inspector General . I won PS4 Gold in an ebay auction. Bought from an established EBay seller of 10 years with perfect feedback. He sent the package with PS4 insured. It arrived clearly having been tampered with and box was hastily sealed up. Luckily the PS4 and controllers were still inside. I looked up the tracking info. When it was sent from NY state, it was only at the originating facility for a less than an hour. The longest period of time was at Cap Heights sorting for over a day. It was then transferred to my local Post Office. It shows it was only there for an hour or so. That leads me to believe the itchy fingers culprit is at Cap Heights location. You have to give a star to write a review. WORST PLACE EVER!!! Seems like everyone in there everyday wakes up on the wrong side of the bed. These folks are some of the rudiest, impoliet, disrespect morons I have every come across. Once a group of us stood outside the door waiting for them to open at 9am. We could hear them talking and loud music playing. Someone finally came to the door (with a disturbed look on her face) as if we were bothering them at 9:08. Didn't bother to say "Goodmoring or Sorry we are a little late opening the door or even smile. Just opened the door turned her back and swiftly walked away. HOW RUDE WAS THAT!!! The other day I'm watching my packet that states its out for delievery. I get the mail and no packet. Then I go back to track it and it states it was delivered. Yes I was to someone else on my street. I called to tell them that I did not receive a package. Do I even how to tell you that this woman (as usual) acted like I was bothering them. Not safe during covid. Sign says 3 people in the lobby at a time. I wemnt and there were over 10. No employee tried to enforce the rules.

I wish whoever was in charge of this region at USPS would take the reviews seriously. I was waiting for an Amazon delivery, and I was sitting in my living room. I received a message stating that the delivery was attempted, but I never heard a knock on the door, etc. Needless to say, it was a birthday gift for our godson. Now I have to wait until the next day which is the day that I need my item. Further, my wife and I will be at his party when they attempt to deliver it again which will make us miss the delivery twice! I HATE dealing with USPS. Every time my packages flow through this local post office and also District Heights, it usually sits there for more than one week before it gets to me. Truly unacceptable delays. I live here in capitol Heights I uses this post office on a regular bases, the post office is a mess, floors are sticky. the out side grass is not cut the line on the parking need to be repainted ,they only have one cashier to work the front, other coworker that works in the back do not come up to help to get the line down I witness the cashier ask for help and no one answer her, the line is all the way in the back past the entrance. I just sent a package off priority which I was charge for the package suppose to have arrive at it destination this past Tuesday for which I ship it Friday. I paid for the priority and it just now being ship off yesterday the 5th for which the package suppose to arrive on that day, they let my package set in the post office from Friday until Wednesday. This post office Sucks! in all area. Also the costumer service is not really that good. I say that they need a new manager that cares about the neighborhood and the customer and their worker and store because poor management shows. read more

This has to be the absolute WORST post office in the nation! I have had dozens and dozens of packages delayed, misplaced, mis-shipped and even lost when it goes through this post office. I buy almost everything through Amazon and Ebay. I watch the Priority Mail tracking on every package. I cringe everytime I see Capital Heights pop up in the tracking because I KNOW 9 times out of 10 something will go wrong. Once again, I had a $300 item get mis-shipped to Cabin John instead of Rockville where I live. It's crazy. Why can't these people DO THEIR JOBS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A registered letter was sent to me 7/25 and left Michigan on 7/26, arriving in Maryland on 7/28 and it's been "in transit" since and today is the 31st. When I called to get help with locating my letter, all I got was attitude and rudeness and a tranference of blame tone as if it was my fault that the letter hadn't arrived yet. The registered letter has pertinent info regarding the death of my mother that happened last week that I need in order to process final arrangements when I arrive in Michigan. When I told the clerk this, she was unapologetic, unsympathetic and VERY unprossional while projecting a smug attitude as if I shouldn't be calling her to find out why the letter is still "in transit" in Maryland for 3+ days now. Where they find and why they hire these kind of sociopaths, I don't know. But I do know that THIS post office has left me very disappointed and feeling like a fool for being a strong advocate for the USPS over the years. I used to defend the USPS ferverently against any and all critics. But after this experience, I think I'll just let the critics have their opinions unchallenged from now on. read more

I must say its not the post office that upset me its just some of the people who work for the capitol heights post office that upset me. If you talk to a lady name Perry that work for this post office i believe she is the supervisor, she has to be the rudest supervisor of them all. I don't know how you can still have a job and talk to people the way she talk to people and every time you talk to her you know she will get rude. She yells at you even when you are being nice and professional asking questions. I came to the office to pick up my package and they told me the package wasn't their i called back to see where the package was as the supervisor Perry was screaming at me, she goes to find out about my package she then comes back to the phone to tell me that my package has been their all day even though i wasted a lot of gas to get their i cannot believe that she did this to me really hurt me because i had to do something very important for my baby daughters birthday. I don't think they should shut down i just think they should remove cancerous people such as mrs.Perry and the carrier who never leaves my packages in seat pleasant apartments. read more
