It was clear she assumed I was committing a crime--stealing mail, of all things. Only after realizing she had just racially profiled me did she attempt a weak, half-hearted apology. The situation could have been resolved with a simple, professional "Hey, why did you use that door?" instead of immediate hostility and accusations. This kind of blatant profiling is unacceptable, and the employees here clearly need conflict resolution training--or at the very least, basic respect for customers. If you value being treated with dignity, skip this place and take your business to FedEx instead.

The experience is as follows - a brief outgoing message describing service area, window hours, advice on tracking packages, etc., reporting vandalism, passport services. Remain on the line and someone will be with you shortly, then your call will be transferred to the operator, then the phone rings again for quite a while until a busy signal ensues. No one EVER answers.

You meet your neighbors at the Post Office. You make decisions at the Post Office. You see your contractors at the Post Office. And in New London, you pick up the latest copy of the Kearsarge Shopper, the ultimate must-know, should-know, wanna-know, TMI, and why-do-I-know publication in the area. The Post Office provides a huge service in the town of New London. Located a few steps from the local grocery store, it makes a one-trip shopping, errands and mail stop a reality. In addition, a large part of the town's population rents PO Boxes due to the Winter practice on the part of the state snowplows to invariably take down mail poles with the boxes next to each address. Staffed by really nice people who realize they're making a contribution to the well being of the town and the vitality of the community.

Current employees are friendly. Packages can still be an issue. You have make sure you track your packages and not rely on the yellow indicator in the PO Box as they will send unclaimed packages back to the sender after 10 days. Also if the address is not perfect, they'll reject the package. Thankfully Amazon has started delivery directly to houses in the area. Also Walmart and CVS will deliver directly to homes.

At 9:30 we came and were denied claiming they did not take walk ins and to book an apt. I showed them the hours online and they said "yeah we don't do that yet but I'll ask". Needless to say, staff is very rude and unhelpful and we will not be returning. I truly believe the employees would benefit from a professionalism in the workplace class.
