I visited there for PP renewal for the first time. The staff seemed to be friendly and hard working. The only thing that disturbed me was when a comment was passed on and it was clear it was meant for me. The comment was they don't know how to say Thank you when I had already said Thank you to the person who assisted taking PP picture and when I was done. It was a stereotype comment. Do not schedule passport appointment at this location! We had scheduled an appointment on their website for a Tuesday- we showed up for our appointment for them to inform us that the woman who does new passports never works on a Tuesday! We rescheduled for a Friday- upon arrival for that location we were greeted with the worst customer service. Passport employees were rude. Said they didn't have my appointment scheduled even though i showed them my confirmation number. then the worker said she would not take us at 1245 since she leaves at 2 pm. (mind it the place was completely empty) we ended up driving to USPS in Slatington PA since we were desperate. Tina from USPS Statington was wonderful and so helpful.. she was able to get us our passports within 20 minutes. read more

This "main" banch of the US post office is a joke. I've never waited less than 10 minutes, and today took the cake. Waited almost a half hour to mail one small package. There was one teller on. The line was almost out the door the entire time. When I finally got to the window, I suggested she page for assistance as the line was very long, and all she said was "I'm the only one here." Really? one person running the entire Bethlehem post office, embarrassing. I think because the postal service is a "mandatory business" required by the government, they feel like they can just do whatever they want and the customer has no recourse. They treat customers like they have us over a barrel. If I have large packages, or multiple ones I usually go with UPS or Fedex, but it's not worth it for one small item. Avoid if you can. read more

Zuma here. Can't find the post office in my location on Yelp, so I figure I'll do a general review of USPS. Let me start off by saying that USPS is sooo unreliable. I understand the drivers may be very busy, but that does not excuse not delivering my package because of some reason they can't tell me. I ordered a really nice pellet rifle the other day, which didn't come because for some reason they tried to deliver it in Nazareth PA, and my address is clearly correct right there on Amazon. (I don't live in Nazareth by the way.) This will be the second time they couldn't deliver my package. I hate spending $200 on something, and then wondering: Do I call USPS? Do I wait and give them some more time? Has my package been stolen? It's very stressful. I don't know why I can't select UPS to deliver my packages either, every other carrier seems to deliver mail just fine. The icing on the cake is that I use Amazon Prime, dude, and they always say guaranteed delivery by tomorrow for example, but it never arrives. Again, I get that the drivers can be super busy, but I feel like USPS just doesn't give it much effort. Not a happy pup. read more

Everything that is wrong with going to the Post Office is embodied in this location. Normally there is not a clerk there under the age of 65 and of course that translates into horrible "we'll get there when we get there" service and with them stopping mid-transaction to talk with each other about last night's dinner or about the grand kids impending visit next weekend. And while they do have an APO, I've been there more than once when it has been either turned off, out of stamps, or out of order. If you need to go to the Post Office in Bethlehem, drive the little bit farther to location in the Industrial Park off of 512 on South Commerce where the service actually is fast and they offer a full range of services instead of making you wait to talk about last night's goulash. (The goulash, dinner, grand kids, and waiting are all real things that I've seen and heard at this location in 2008, 2009, 2010 and so far in 2011.) (Also in a follow up to Robert F, dude you're delusional. The staff is slow, one in particular is downright combative and you are are right that the USPS is being decimated and they 100% deserve it because of how much of a pain in the A$$ it is to deal with them in every way. Also I had an eBay store for a few years with over 4,000 transactions and before I started dealing only with the USPS branch on South Commerce I had been here hundreds of times before they drove me and others away because the clerks personal business is far, far more important the servicing those annoying people called customers. Why do I not get mail on Saturdays, sometime only 4 days doing the week. I seem to get a box full of junk mail and no first class mail some days. Last week no mail Monday, none Tuesday, none Friday. The Saturday filled with junk mail. I get mail for my neighbor ( Health Ins statement ) and some time even for people a block away. I see the mail truck parked on the next street when I come home from work and still no mail here. The reason I do all my bills and other important mail on line is because you are not doing your job. That also means not answering your phones when someone calls. I know if we get the chance to ask if the postal service should go private the answer will be YES. It is the same in my office I get mail every day with another address for someone else. It is business mail and also a lot of private mail. I have been getting mail addressed to people in Texas mailed from Texas how does it end up in Pa? It also happens from other states too. Some of this is people missing payments for their Insurance, deadlines for loans and even tax info. How does mail ( a federal loan assist ) mailed in New Hampshire end up in Allentown? Maybe the Covid19 or the weather have something to do with some of this but who or what are you going to put the blame on next. read more

They aren't open as late as the office up in North Bethlehem township, but this is the closest location to my home that has an APS. So when something just has to have a certain date postmark and I forget to go after work, this is my location. It's easy enough to get in and out of. It's older and needs some TLC. But the APS is always working! read more

By a stroke of luck, I saw a rented delivery truck in front of my house and as I went to look who it was, he pulled away. And much to my surprise, the packages he delivered were left in the center of the driveway and the sidewalk ! We have a front porch ! How easy it would be for a "porch pirate" to have made off with my packages. I then TRIED calling the office. The first time the phone rang for one minute and fifteen seconds and I got "disconnected." The second time I left it ring for three minutes and just gave up. Being somewhat persistent, I phoned again and now I'm still waiting and the clock is telling me that it's now three minutes and ten seconds and wouldn't you know it, i got "disconnected" again. I feel somewhat inclined to suggest we should "defund" the US Postal Service ! read more

I have had a post office box since about 1967. The post office has even moved once since I first got my box! Anyhow, over all these years I have been pretty pleased with the service. They will even accept my UPS, DHL, and FED EX deliveries! Having a PO Box also secures my mail and I can pick it up by 10 AM. But if you need window service, expect loooong lines and maybe a 10 minute wait. They do have the automated APS unit in the lobby which can handle stamps for packages & large envelopes! Even express mail! My suggestion to put a sidewalk opening to depost the mail in front of the post office fell on deaf ears. People walking up to the box have to step into traffic to deposit standard mail. Oh, and they gave me great service when I got my Pass Port! read more

Living down the road from the post office I use it often. The people in side are great, just beware of the long lines and the closing time.

Speaking of embodiment, my body finds itself at this postal unit several times a week, and the overwhelming majority of staff are fast, helpful ... and yes, they do sometimes mention a wedding or a great restaurant (while they're working). I sell books by mail, and I have rarely failed to receive fine service at the counter, and my packages are always expeditiously handled--I know that since I track the journey of the package via the internet. The postal service is an easy target, but I would love to see some of the reviewers at work or dealing with their customers, if they happen to have any. The postal service is being decimated, and most of the employees are doing the best they can with declining resources. I don't have a relative working at the post office. read more

This post office is the reason I wish postal service would become privatized already. If you ever need to call them for any reason -like requesting a redelivery -plan to set aside at least 1 hour of your day to just wait as the phone rings. They deliberately ignore the phone until it's rang long enough to annoy just about everyone in the office --average time? 20+ minutes. Once someone gets the phone, you better pray they don't hang up, because that's all they want to do. They won't even talk at first, and probably just hope you'd give up and hang up first. When they do ask what you need, they will "go check up on that," and run off and leave the receiver off the hook so even if they don't come back, you can't annoy them by calling again. If you're REALLY lucky, someone else will pick that up 5-10 minutes later and check first to see if you've been helped. If not, someone else will pick that receiver up and hang it right back on the phone. Rinse. Repeat. If you do have the time to make it over to the location in person during their short hours, you will be standing in a long line in a tiny office while the workers drag their feet and make it quite obvious they're annoyed by the customers' presence. On a good day, they might make eye contact while they process your transaction. Most days they just want you to grab your s**t and get out, despite the lag coming from their end as they take 5 minutes spinning slowing in their own cubicle just to get a sticker, label, or tape. It's okay; that 5 minute dance is provided for you to have time to get your payment out and ready because, God forbid, you're not ready by the time they're done rotating, they will roll their eyes and huff and puff to let you know how displeased they are that you are taking up all of their time. Recommendation: Avoid this H#LL hole at all costs unless you actually have all day and absolutely nothing else planned. read more

Let me start off by saying that there are certainly a few staff members that are very nice and helpful, but for the most part this post office is absolutely terrible. Several times I have had to speak with them about packages that were scheduled for delivery and the post man supposedly tried to deliver and said I was not there when in fact I was and they didn't even knock on the door or ring the door bell. They left a sticker saying I could pick it up later at this site. When I brought my slip in and asked for my package they said that they had no idea what I was talking about and could not find my packages. I even had one guy laugh at me when I told him I had been waiting over a week for an important package and that it was very expensive. After he laughed he just told me that it was probably still on the truck and that they might try to deliver it again. I told him to call the driver and ask him where he was so I could meet up with him and get the package directly, and the guy said that they don't do that and that I would just have to wait. Well I am still waiting for it, and no one showed up at my house the past two days. I went to this location again today and they said they don't have it. So I don't know how I'm supposed to get this package when it's always out for "delivery" and it never goes back to the actual post office for pick up. Except for 2 people at this location no one seems to know what they are doing or how to help any customers. Most times you try to ask for help and the people behind the counter just walk right by and don't acknowledge your existence. This is perhaps the worst post office and it should be shut down. In fact USPS in general should be shut down entirely because of the incompetence. It's not surprising to me at all why they are going under. Fed Ex and UPS can deliver to me any time. As for USPS I say good riddance!!! read more

Do yourself a favor and visit the post office on Easton Ave instead. Shorter lines, and get this- the people that work there are actually NICE. The ladies that work in the main Bethlehem Post Office think they are the Gestapo or something... they are nasty and ask you a million questions about your package. I am an ebay seller and they always give me the 3rd degree. I think they resent the fact that I can print my own labels at home without their intrusive involvement. Maybe they should treat me with a little respect; first because I am a fellow human being and second because ebay sellers are keeping them in business, since it is the most economical way for small businesses to ship goods. read more

I was suppose to get a package around January 11th. Somehow (I was never fully explained how) they mis-scanned my package and it was immediately on it's way back to the sender upon arrival to the post office. They told me that I was going to receive a letter in the mail explaining it was their fault and I were to forward it to the sender. Two (2) weeks have gone by now and still no letter. The date is February 20th today and this is nowhere close to being solved. Honestly pay the extra buck and use UPS or FedEx, it's really worth it. read more

I was doing a everydoor direct mail for 2 clients. Had the pleasure of visting 8 post offices. This was a nightmare. Postal rep Lakresha was, rude, arrogant, and hostel. Asked for a copy of of the paid drop off for proof of mailing and was told NO!!! She called the superviusor, thgat she had his personal cellphone number, and he (Isreal) was just as ignorant. I am in the direct mail business and send out over 1,000,000 pieces of mail a year. As a rule, postal workers are usually very friendly, helpful, and wanting to please. These two set the post office back to the old days when they didn't care. I understand the term going postal now. If you have the chance to go to another post office, do so. I will take this up the chain of command and see if I they like being treated like dirt from their supervisors. Do unto others as you would like done unto you..
