we all cringe going to our local post office and it's not out of fear of postal workers but mostly the fear of doing the wrong thing like smacking some disgruntled postal clerk who is rude as hell but lucky for you and i this post office on broadway in astoria does not warrant the action lol . this post office is sandwiched between a rite aid and valenzuela restaurant in an outdoor shopping mall with limited free parking . it's not the biggest post office but it's compact size has what's required from a counter with postal forms to a single self service machine and 4 window clerk stations that at this moment has just one clerk working as 5 customers including me wait on line . finally it's my turn after waiting less then 15 minutes and i was able to ship my next day letter with ease and i even got a hello , and thank you and have a nice day from the clerk which surprised me a bit but was gladly accepted . i decided to get some stamps and used the self service machine which i recommend using instead of dealing with clerks if possible . a visit to the post office can be bitter at times but today my visit was just the opposite and that's dandy with me . p.s. fill out forms before getting on line to save some time . read more

By far the worst post office experience I've ever had. Manager there was rude, arrogant and indifferent to my complaints about a mail carrier who continues to stuff my home mailbox with large magazines, damaging the mailbox, tearing up magazines and crushing my other personal mail. It's no wonder with a*%holes like this working there that the post office is sure to go out of business. read more

US Post Office on Crescent Street - Astoria - 11106 The mail in zip code 11106 is very delayed....everyday there is a different carrier there is never a set time the mail comes everyday after 3PM...I went to the post office and they do not do nothing about this on Crescent Street. The carrier I see is a young man and I asked him when will he get to my building and he has a major attitude disposition...and he was spiteful and took his time walking up the block with his shorts on like he going to the beach or looking for a break..they do not take anything serious at this post office and they open at 10AM during the week in the morning this is Astoria next to Manhattan this post office should open earlier and have carriers that are more serious about their job and getting the job done on a more timely manner and not strolling like they are always looking for a break or they are just OUT-TO-LUNCH ...I hope the supervisor of this post office takes this more serious and reads this because these people are zoned out at this post office...and do not take their job SERIOUS. read more

if this office is at the standard accepted by the government no wonder the post office is a dying institution. I will only get packages delivered to my home when I know I will be home. I always receive delivery notices.... when I AM HOME! no bell ringing or door knocking , just leave slips which then entails attempting to get it delivered again!!!! which NEVER happens. I always end up having to go there and pick it up which is a major hassle!!!!! always a long line with annoyed people. service is lacking . and the phone is always busy!!!! you can never get someone to talk to!!!!! read more

fIrst they hang up their phone, no one answers it so dont bother calling. iF i could only find words how this post office is so fucking terrible. tHey left my package in the lobby of my building not even notifying me that they delivered it. The second replacement package came which i specifically asked them that i would pick up the package in the post office. tHe tracking number said that it was already there but they cannot find the package. Take note this is the second package read more

Extremely unhelpful and rude. The phone is also constantly off the hook so there is no way to get in touch with anyone at this location.

George was the best mailman! I always knew when he was on vacation or out sick, as delivery was sporadic and mail for other addresses would end up in my mail box. Now that he has retired, me and my neighbors are consistently finding other people's mail in our slots. I always deliver the misdirected mail to the correct address. But I have no idea how much of my mail is sitting in other people's boxes or simply tossed out. This is unacceptable!!! And this particular post office should be monitored and disciplined for these flagrant delivery mistakes! As you can see from the many horrible reviews here ... this office is obviously poorly run! I'm not even going to get into the package delivery fiascos I have experienced for the past 25 years! (George, quite often, would find misplaced or "lost" packages for me and deliver them to my door.) Mail being delivered to the wrong addresses CONSISTENTLY leads me to believe the mail carriers cannot READ!!!! PLEASE PLEASE somebody in the USPS supervisory division --- DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS!!! This kind of incompetence is wrong and should be corrected! read more

Most terrible Post Office in the area. Rude staff, they areso condescending. Notices are never left. Despite what the tracking info says online.Half the time, they will tell you your package isn't there or they can't find it. When it is back there, they just don't put any real effort in to look for it. Being understaffed doesn't excuse their disrespectful attitudes. If they can't deal with people then they are in the wrong occupation. I'm sure there are some who would be glad to have the jobs that these people at the USPS treat with disdain. I'm fuming that once again, I waiting for a package that should have been here 2 days ago. And what do the tracking stats say..it's out for delivery since Wednesday? How long does it take to deliver a damn package? surely not 2 days? and that is only one of my horror stories about this place...so angry right now..once again read more

The worst post office ever!!! Tried calling then for tracking a package they wouldn't answer their phone. Horrible service! Wish I could put negative star. read more

So I went there on Saturday by 1 pm. Was on line for about 10 mins and the manager (Chinese one) comes out and started screaming at me saying oh "get out leave right now, we are closed. We have a life to we close at one, " I mean common that was a bit disrespectful on how he approached me and the other guest behind me. If they were close my question is why couldn't he lock the door that way people wouldn't enter thinking oh it's open. Secondly he goes inside and tells the clerks oh don't take us anymore. And to make things worse one two customer figured it was my job to tell other ppl whose standing behind us in line that the post office is closed. Long story short I minded my own business while they were bitching about us ( totally ghetto behavior ) all I need was money order. So from Astoria I ended up going to Jackson heights and FYI they close at 3. Very disappointed I have been in Astoria for 8 years never had problem but this was a big ridiculous. I feel like the manager should get fired. He apparently doesn't know how to communicate with customers. read more

Beyond WORST. These people don't respect us, much less their job. They should really close this office. They just lose packages and then there is nothing you can do. It has been like that for years. Every single time I go to the office there is someone complaining. Horrible. Impolite. Worse professionals ever... why don't you give the job to someone who actually has a minimum of pride or respect? I am a hard worker and I don't have time to keep looking for the packages that I receive and you LOSE! read more

I called about a package that was just stuck at a flushing location. Felicia was very helpful called the flushing branch to locate it and had it sent to her so it can get going again. After days of trying with USPS customer service, Felicia at the Broadway location bless her came threw. Thank you. read more

This location is understaffed and the employees who are working are very rude. The mailman never buzzes my door, rarely leaves a slip and then I have to go to the post office which is only open 10-5 on weekdays (hello I have a job) to track down my package... read more

One star is too much. According to tracking information, I had a package arrive at my apartment, but then not left due to "Delivery Exception." I wasn't expecting it until the next day, so I wasn't very bothered by it. However, the tracking also said to contact the USPS local office to reschedule delivery or pick-up. Because I work M-F 9-6, I knew I wouldn't be able to go into the office until Saturday. So, I called. I called multiple times every day from Tuesday until Friday. Every time I called, it just rang and rang until it hung up on me. Occasionally I would get the busy signal. Frustrated, I called the USPS 800 number, spoke to a representative who assured me that she would put in a note on the package to redeliver. I also filed a complaint against the Broadway office regarding their unwillingness to answer the phone. I was assured the package would be at my apartment the following day and that someone would return my car regarding the filed complain. Neither happened. Still, at this point, I'm just more irritated than anything, and figured I could just go on Saturday when I didn't have work, to pick up the package. I arrive Saturday around 12pm, wait on line, give the teller my license, and she comes back and tells me that they have no package for me. Figures. I explain the situation, and she asks to see the tracking info. I pull it up, and low and behold the package was returned to sender one hour prior. I ask to speak with the manager, wanting to inform him of the fact that no one answers the phone. The teller points to him without informing him that I wanted a moment of his time. When I ask if he has a minute to speak, he to roll his eyes, and sighs. I try to calmly explain to him that I had a package that was meant to arrive on Tuesday. "WHY do you think you were supposed to have a package Tuesday?" he snips. Taken aback, I, still calmly, explain that it's what the tracking said. I then go on to say that I tried to call every day, and he just yells, quite literally in my face, "I ALWAYS answer the phone! You must have the wrong number!" I explain that I called the 800 number to confirm I was dialing the right number, and he doesn't even let me finish saying :you're going to need to let me get a sentence in." Realizing that this indignant man was not even listening to me, I turned to walk away, fuming. I'm truly befuddled by the entire interaction. Working in service myself, it would never even occur to me to speak to another human that way, especially not a customer. I plan on filing another complaint with USPS against this man personally. Pro tip: If you have a bad run in with this office, don't waste your energy trying to talk sense with the manager. read more

i am honestly so fed up with this facility !!! I always have problems here every time I order anything, I always receive my packages late and they claim to ring my doorbell , when Im home all day and dont hear crap, even when theyve rung my doorbell, I go running down and theres no one when I reach the door. This is a load a c**p. Im honestly going to start shipping my packages to my job or something so I can avoid al this crap, Im honeslty currently waaitng for an Amazon package, and it claims it was delivered on my front porch, when I live in an apartment complex. I was out that whole day outside of NY and I come home to the surprise that they delivered it , and I didnt receive anything. I called the office and shes said that shed find out for me and that shed would call me back, and its been 2 days, like come on i am really in need of this package I hope they refund me or give me my packages im really frustruated !!! I honestly do think there are a few good workers but my overall experience is horrible and i suggest not to rely on this facility, it sucks. read more

The worst US Post office in NY!!! Someone needs to take over this place and check them out. I LOST my items more 5-6 times in less than 4 months! last 2 times I requested a massage on my cellphone, all the shipping updates. Which for that particular post office, tracking# ain't mean anything, ones they do whatever they want with people items! I had an item that they marked it as "Undeliverable as addressed". Everything fine up to here. I sent my wife there, on Monday March, 1 at 12pm to pick up the item, and they told her "the item is somewhere on its way to you home address. She arrived home 10 minutes later, and 30 minutes after that I received a message that the item it's "Delivered in the mailbox" My wife opened the mailbox right after the message, mailbox empty! Same day I opened a case and they told me that I have to wait 72 hours for their response. Something that never happened obviously! I left my work early on friday March 4, in order to catch this post office open. I went there to ask them what is going on with my mailles. The response from them? "Sorry, we're going to tell our delivery guy to be more careful with your items"! Really? you hiring irresponsible people to work for other people stuff and then you telling them to be more careful? afterwards? really! God bless you all over there! read more

The lines are busy contantly and I filed a complaint with the main customer service line regarding this. As someone who runs a business, it's imperative in 2015 for a business to be reachable to answer customer questions in order to retain customers. I should not have to go through the ridiculous customer service line to get a reply in 48 hours when I can call this post office directly. I made a suggestion that this location needs a secondary line, answering machine, or call waiting to handle the amount of volume they received. A suggestion! I was met with a rude hood chick trying to talk over me, and when I asked her why she was doing that, she replied "because you're not listening." Keep the bs at home and go take a course in manners. I called the national line again and consumer affairs, who agreed this behavior is unacceptable. The post office knows they are the cheapest shipping option and abuse their customers knowing they can't go anywhere else. I am now looking into bulk shipping options via fedex to get around USPS incompetence. Unacceptable, rude, immature people working here. read more

I miss this location, I am in zip11102 and had this location since they closed down my usps location. Now they reopened new location on 3011 21st St, and I was transferred there. Now I have the really bad post office who runs very very rude lady with incapability of doing the job. Well, you all complain about this post office.. Just go once to the 3011 21s St post office, and I promise you, you will understand what I mean. OK, This location, I had before at least delivered my packages to my home,, I know the lines were long every time I came by, but you all should be happy to have this location rather then the disaster one. The little rude lady manager at my location just yells at customers, she is not educated to do her job, as I can see every time she would screw everything up. , Never apologizes, But that is nothing. The mail man does not deliver packages. Never leaves the notice. I only have to find out by tracking# that there was an attempt to deliver and then I have to come to the post office to pick it up, and if I don't , they just simply keep it as dead mail,.(for themselves , I guess. ) Several packages are missing and they don't have an answers even I have the tracking# proving it has not been delivered. They just say sorry, no insurance no package. So that is why I am giving my old location 5 stars. I miss them, They do a great job, and I am hoping that my location will be closed down soon so I can have my mail delivered to my home again. I discontinued their services until then. read more

This post office is horrible. I have been waiting on a package from Ohio, and on line the tracking # stated un-deliverable. I went a few days later to inquire about the package because no notice was left and spoke to supervisor who was unprofessional looking dress down as if he just got out of the gym and said it was un-deliverable, As if i didn't already know this from tracking the package. I asked why and he could not tell why and said it was the other post office who has the carriers making deliveries of 2 lbs or more. All they said was if it was un-deliverable it was sent back to the sender. 3 weeks later I return with a pick up slip for another package I was waiting for and saw the same supervisor and he gave me the package that was supposedly sent back to the sender. when I check regarding the current package I was waiting for he again said it was un-deliverable and once again package is missing and supposedly sent back to sender. A few days later I called the 800 # to file a complaint, and they state it was un deliverable but would send it back out for delivery. I asked why wasn't there a notice left and that this was a private house and someone is always there, he couldn't explain why. Even the 800 # is useless and you ask to speak to a supervisor and they give you a # that no one ever answers. Then the post office wonder's why they are loosing business. The people that work there are un professional and absolutely NO HELP. read more
