Very strange interaction with a dark haired middle-aged female clerk who looked like she might be part Asian. She flipped an attitude with us for no reason and appeared to be either laughing at us or making fun of us the whole time. It was bizarre, and her attitude was off-putting. We were just mailing two packages back home, everything was ready to go, all labels filled out, etc. One of our packages arrived damaged, as if someone chucked it across the room. Fortunately, we are expert packers and send packages regularly to our Etsy customers, so nothing was damaged, but wow. We're still talking about this woman's funky attitude. No bueno. I LOVE this post office out of all of the post offices in the area. Yes USPS as a company may still lose your package (lol) but this post office is always a pleasant experience more than all of the others for me -- tied with the one in Bradley Beach. read more

I wish I can give this place 0 stars. I was expecting a package from Australia and the package required a signature. These people did not attempt to deliver it to my door NOT EVEN ONE TIME. Instead, they left a slip in my mailbox saying that attempted delivery. How was I suppose to know they were at my mailbox. Was I suppose to be standing there all day until they came??? I was home the whole week they "attempted delivery". These people are clearly lazy and don't want to do their job. Oh, and they sent my package back, so I will not be receiving it. i Had a priority package dropped in the pre paid bin on Dec 1, 2021. They never scanned the package so there's no tracking information. I called abt 50 times no one ever answers the phone. I go there on the 15th all the day is mail is slow the guy who picked up the packages never scanned it. They tell me it's probably sitting in Trenton somewhere. Why is it that everything I order that comes UPS or FedEx is delivered to me without an issue but when the Asbury Park post office is involved with the delivery, I get a text saying my package was delivered and it's not at my door. I got a message yesterday saying "Handed off directly". No postal worker EVER handed me a package directly! I have lived all over the country and have NEVER had postal service THIS BAD. So I was waiting for a package from Amazon today. Prime Pantry to be exact. Was out for delivery today and should be expected before 8pm. So I'm waiting, and waiting. I keep checking Amazon to see if my package has been delivered, because the carrier normally just leaves it at the door and rarely knocks on the door. My apartment is easy to get to, none of the delivery companies have any trouble. So at 8:10 I get a message from Amazon saying my package wasn't delivered because 'the carrier was unable to gain access to my front door.' BS - I know my regular carrier didn't deliver today because she would not have had any trouble gaining access to my front door. This has happened before. And the next day when I called the post office I was told the 'package is on the truck and will be delivered by 8.' Your carrier is lazy and needs to be written up. read more

I have the same issue as Erin O. As long as it is UPS or Fed X all is well but once again dealing with USPS at Asbury Park post office has left me screwed and out of what I ordered for the second time in 2 months. Items marked as 'Delivered" but I don't have my item! Don't understand how they continue to get away with this! Nobody over there is being held accountable! This is a state ran facility! I have had problems with the Asbury Park (AP) post office for years. These include My driveway was being resurfaced and I was asked to block the driveway with my car but I purposely parked the car so the postman TOM could access the box. After two days with no mail delivery I called the AP post office and was told TOM could not deliver my mail because the box was blocked. I asked the postmaster Juan how I was supposed to know of the problem and he said the carrier should put a note in my box but sometimes they run out. I complained to US Senator Booker's office and I mentioned this to the postmaster and they just laughed and said we get those all the time. Another time an Amazon delivery of package too big to put in my curbside mailbox so TOM just put on top of the box and left. Wish I had a picture. My latest complaint is 07/18/18 I did a USPS online hold on my mail from 07/20/18 to 07/23/2018. I received an email confirmation of this request on 07/19/18. I returned home late on 07/22/18 to find my curbside mailbox wide open and on my doorstep was a FEDEX / USPS package that was delivered on 07/20/818 according to USPS online tracking. My home had very heavy rainstorm on 07/21/18 and my package was soaked I called the AP post office 732-775-0696 and spoke to Wanda, we have spoken many times, and she said they did not receive the hold order in time for the 07/20/18 delivery. Another excuse because I got the confirmation email on 07/19/18. I asked Wanda how to file a formal complaint on this problem and she said I had to speak to the postmaster Carla Clay. I am waiting for her call. Oh Wanda said this is the 4th postmaster in 2 years. This postman TOM seems to not even care about the delivery quality. Quite often mail from other parts of town is in my box. Seems like TOM can't even read. read more
