Saved my trip to Canada, renewed my expired passport in 24 hours. They charged $415 for the service but it was worth it. At the same time, their manner on the phone is abrupt and rude. Make sure you confirm they hear everything you say. For example, I called and said I needed a renewed passport by 3pm the next day, but the agent wasn't really listening: it wasn't until I arrived that she told me my passport wouldn't be ready until 5pm. Good thing I was able to change my flight. Despite the poor communication, I still recommend this shop. They're compassionate to panicked travelers, at least when you're talking with them face to face, and they get the job done. read more

Overall: Excellent service, nice people, and highly recommended. Going into this place you're a little apprehensive because you probably need a passport asap and it's a little mom and pop type place and you're kind of putting your life in their hands... But they really came through. 100%. I actually paid for a 4-5 day turnaround, but a day later ended up needed it sooner. they were able to process my passport that same day. It's not cheap exactly, ended up being $300 for their one-day service, which is the most expensive (plus govt fees) but when you're in a rush rarely do things come cheap. Needed visas for a family trip to China- the woman could not answer simple questions as to what we need and if we could use a visa invitation from our tour company. She said she would call me back after the phone rang in the background - took my name and number and never called back. An absolute waste of time and totally unprofessional. I called and was given misinformation. Then to pack on charges even though I was clear before going into the office. On top of the hole in the wall appearance the guy has me sit at his computer and do his job. To make matters worse the guy lies to me and tells me $195 for government fees on top of the $150 fee he quoted me on the phone. Do yourself a favor and just go to the post office on 18th and 7th and pay $135 and be done. This totally pissed me off and waisted an hour of my life. read more

I needed passport photos, and I went to US Passport Express because they were close by. It took about 10 minutes, and although the photos were rather low contrast, they seemed ok (2 photos for $12). Later, upon closer inspection I noticed that my head was too large (it was over 1 1/2" and the limit is 1 3/8"). So I went back and not only did the woman there (who took the picture the day before) refuse to redo the picture, but went further to say that the only restriction is that it's a 2" square. The passport forms are *really* clear about the size restrictions of the head in the picture, so I was pretty surprised she didn't know what she was talking about, given this is her job. If they are sloppy about this, I expect it's the same for everything. I did see 2 people pick up their passports here while I was waiting, so the place seems legit. But at the same time, they left early one day and weren't around for a bit when I arrived the next day. So I suggest to stay away. I expect there are better places that will be more careful. Plus, with the official gov't US passport office right across town, why bother with them? read more
