I got a fresh new springtime manicure here earlier today. I love the quick service I received. They only have one wall mounted TV. It was behind me. This place has low rates for a reason!! After making an appointment at 1:45 they had me sit there until 230 and then she proceeded to tell me that we wouldn't be done until 330. I have just returned from camping/vacation came because my toes/feet needed some TLC lots of dirt/sand gathered in and let's just say I will be going somewhere else for a repeat. I had a great experience at US Nails tonight. I am new to CT as I recently relocated for work. I've visited one salon in town and did not like the experience so I didn't bother anymore. Today I decided to make an appointment at US Nails because I frequently go to the Homegoods next door. It was a huge surprise! Tina, the new owner, is very friendly and welcoming. Ms. Lisa was my nail technician and she gave me the best pedicure and manicure. I am completely satisfied with the service. Aside from the service, I was very impressed by the large variety of colors. I don't think there's a nail salon in the area with as many colors. US Nails offer gel (also known as shellac) manicure and pedicure,regular acrylic, SNS and mood gel colors. I love mood colors in the winter time. Let me not forget all of the regular colors. Check the photos for proof. In fact, US Nails has close to a thousand (you read that correctly) gel/shellac colors, more than 200 SNS & mood colors and close to a thousand regular polish colors. These are quality polish too. Tina told me she'll order whatever color it is that I want if she doesn't already have it. No other salon has ever told me that. With that many options, I don't think Tina will ever have to order colors for me. Now, I heard this salon was not the best under the previous ownership. Rest assured there's a new sheriff in town and that's Tina. Do stop by even for a quick hello because Tina is really nice and she will take care of you. I never experienced this place when it was owned previously. But I felt I received top notch service! My dip nails are absolutely gorgeous. Tiffany did and amazing job! I also recieved a pedicure. Everything was sanitary. I know what to look for because I'm a hairstylist and in this industry. Nothing stood out to me as dirty. The staff all seems nice enough. Prices were fair. Extremely disappointing. I went for a manicure and pedicure and was pressured into getting gel when I just wanted regular. They did the gel anyway in mid-matched colors and within days 4 of my nails ripped apart (my real, short nails). Was charged more than was advertised. Never patronizing this salon again. read more

Very unsatisfied. $19.99 pedicure with leuk warm water, dirty towels, and reused toe separators. The instruments are kept in a shower caddy, probably not sterilized. The "massage" was as quick as putting on lotion yourself after a shower. I have nail polish outside of my toenails and the dryer for my feet was a large floor fan that blew onto my entire body. The massage chairs are worn out, too. Oh! But before your feet are dry, they demand you pay! They take your money or credit card the second your crappy pedicure is done. I've been coming to US Nails for almost a year now and I can't see myself going anywhere else! Tina and her staff are amazing and make sure you leave happy with the services you came in for. I had been going to another nail salon for a while and when I started coming to US Nails, Tina was able to point out some of the things my old salon was doing wrong that was damaging my nails! After a few months of doing my usual gel manicure, the dip powder was recommended to me. I decided to try it and was impressed with the results. It definitely lasts longer, looks nicer, and my nails feel healthier. The pedicures I've gotten also include the longest massage I've ever gotten with a pedicure! Tina, the owner, recently redid the inside and it looks clean, sleek, and refreshing! As you can see by the color display, their selection is very vast. I usually stick with dark colors, but I find that very hard to do when there's so many options in front of me. And I didn't even get pictures of all of the options they have. They're all very artistic and will pretty much recreate any nail inspiration from Instagram! Looking at some of the old reviews of this place under the previous management, I can see why some people might steer clear of this place. I feel like I've been cheated out of a great foot rub. The sign boasted "$20 Spa Pedicure Mon-Wed" Not just pedicure, Spa Pedicure. Did I hit the jackpot? Turns out not so much. The pedicure itself was 18 minutes + dry time (Yeah, I time it, because I remember when pedicures used to be an hour long). Also nothing spa-like about it. Just a bunch of tired miserable women ignoring you and up-selling waxing. No coincidence I was the only customer in the place. Will NOT be back and recommend you DO NOT visit this establishment. The service was crude, unprofessional, and is what I can only describe as factory-esque. When our choice salon couldn't squeeze in our mani/pedi combos, my BFF and I decided to swing into this salon (I use that word sparingly), to get primped for cheering on our hotties at a baseball game. Walking in, we were greeted by an overwhelming smell of acetone and fake nail dust (really, WHO still gets acrylic nails??). We decided to stick it out, picked out some polish and were taken into the back room. The tools were NOT visibly taken out of the UV chamber, which always makes me leery of Hep A and C lurking on cuticle clippers. I asked if the tools were clean and the English of the staff was so poor that they kept suggesting "schellac?" and "eyebrow wax?" Uhhmm ... no thank you, classic mani/pedi. Immediately upon sitting in the pedicure chair my feet and hands were worked on simultaneously. I was told to awkwardly twist to the side so that I could dip one hand in the water dish while I held out the other to be forcefully worked on. I came in with ULTA Glitter Polish on my fingers that needed to be removed. I use acetone at home, as well as ULTA basecoat, and I do admit that removal is a bit more tedious than normal polish, but it's just so cute and "in" this season that I can't resist using it on the regular! Acetone removes it without issue. The woman removed my glitter polish by SANDING DOWN my nails! I told her it was painful and pulled my hand away and she was more careful, but now my nails are very thin and bendable. The pedicure was adequate - I appreciate that it is illegal for salons to cut off callouses using metal tools and I was happy to see they did not cross that line. However, my feet were not properly exfoliated, nor moisturized, and within a few moments of leaving, my dry skin was again showing. I suspect that the overwhelming smell of acetone in the facility is due to their "cutting" of their moisturizer with alcohol - while it speeds "absorbption" aka EVAPORATION, it is extremely unhealthy for skin. As a public health official, I would like to note that is an offence reportable to the better business bureau. Of course, I have no proof, but I truly believe they're using cheap lotion mixed with something in order to cut cost. There were parts of my nails to which polish was not applied. Also let me point out that my cuticles WERE in fact generously painted. They're a lovely flakey and dry navy blue color. I asked the woman to correct her mistakes and while a slight effort was made, it was inadequate. We were asked to pay while sitting at the nail drying station, on which my UV light was not working. I asked to be moved and they either did not understand my request or ignored me. While digging into my purse for my credit card I smudged 2 of my un-dry nails. I politely asked that they be re-painted. They did, but skipped the base and top coats. I am embarrassed to say that I left with goopy and smudged fingernails. Please let me finish with this - I am a conniseur of the cheap mani/pedi, and do not expect spa-quality ant a walk-in salon. I am happy to pay $39.95 for a mani/pedi in which my feet are done and I can relax with a trashy gossip magazine, followed by a manicure at a seated station. I expect the tools to be clean, the service to be quick but attentive, and the staff to take pride in their work. This place was pushy, unprofessional, and there are several price-comparable salons that have more professional staff just down the street. read more

The dreaded U.S. Nails, a place many strayed away from due to being dirty and providing subpar services has received a facelift. I happen to pop in one night on my way home from the office to be delightfully surprised. I was greeted with a warm smile and a friendly hello. In typical fashion, I was asked what service I was in need of. I expressed my desire for a shellac paint, with no manicure. I then was sat and sold on a new product called "dip". The owner, Tina started to go through the product with me, advising me that it is longer lasting than shellac, doesn't peel, is organic, and is less harsh on my nails. She provided me with what seemed to be at least 50 plus different color swatches to choose from. I was impressed with the variety and intrigued with the new product she was telling me about. I even went as far as going through my Pinterest and showing her a picture of what I want my nails to look like, which she had no problem replicating. The new technology is incredible! There was no use of a UV light and no wait time for the paint to dry! In fact, the color is imbedded in the powder, so you have the deepest, truest color possible. I am sold on the "dip" technology, you should be too! I want to express my condolences to all who suffered at the salon, previous to Tina's ownership. From the reviews that I have read that in the past people were turned off by the cleanliness of the salon and the low quality of the services. Well, have no fear! There is new ownership/management and those horror stories are of the past. From my visit, I saw a clean, modern salon that was fit to cater to anyone. The decor was inviting and tastefully decorated. A complete 360 from the past! I happened to stop in on a whim, and I am happy that I did. The last time I was a customer there was at least 6 plus years ago. Tina, who is the new owner was very personable and kind from the moment I sat in her chair. She was genuinely interested in creating a connection with me, but also expressing her concern about new business. I assured her that once the word gets out that U.S. Nails has a change in management and the much needed facelift, business will pick up. This was the worst experience I have had at a nail salon. My usual salon was booked, but I needed to get my nails done for an interview. I went to walk in on a Sunday and no one was there. I thought maybe it was just early and the rush hadn't happened yet. When I walked in, I was told I could get a gel manicure, no problem. When I looked at the colors, they didn't have my preferred brand (Essie). I told them I would just do a regular manicure so that I could have the color I wanted. I was told they could do a clear gel, paint the color I wanted over it, and then they would put the gel topcoat on. Perfect (or so I thought). I went to use the restroom in the back before we started and noticed that the back room where the pedicure spa is was flooded. One of the workers left the sink running with rags in it, and the water was overflowing onto the floor and all through the salon. After the excitement of the nail techs trying to clean up and dry the floor, I sat down for my manicure. It took an hour and a half, and she didn't do any manicuring. I didn't even get lotion on my hands. She literally just painted my nails and did the gel bottom and top coat. The "manicure" cost $36 and was absolutely horrendous. I had gel stuck to my fingers, under my nails and on the side of my nail bed. It is now 3 hours later and the nail polish is already chipping and bubbling up under the clear coat. This was an absolute waste of time, waste of money and the worst experience yet. I go to a salon to relax and enjoy some "me time," because as a mom of a toddler, I don't get it very often. I will never give them my money or time again. Don't go! read more

I saw 3 ladies leave the pedi station and did not see ANY cleaning of the soaking bowls. the pedicure was ok - $27 is a bit high for the area. the massage was lackluster. but the manicure was the icing on the cake. $30 for my gel mani. $5 for the 'design' i requested. not one drop of lotion was used on my hands. the manicure was completed WHILE i was having my pedi, which felt sort of pampered -- and sort of rushed. nails were filed WAY short..i had specifically said - do not make them shorter, just shape and clean up. over all, with tax $65. i won't be back. read more

Definitley not the best nail salon. $26 for a pedicure and I feel like I still need a pedicure. They put way too much top coat on and it took forever to dry. The color selection was spare. The polish change was $5 and again way woo much top coat. OPI nail polish generally dries pretty fast, but after 2 coats of polish and two coats of topcoat I was there forever.
