Dr. Green operated on that ear, correcting the problem. Prior to my surgery, several doctors and nurses commented that Dr. Green was the best of the best surgeons for my type of problem. I must say, I totally agree. The surgery went smoothly and the care I received from Dr. Green after the surgery was excellent. Now I go to Jacksonville Hearing and Balance Institute every year to have my ears checked to avoid any further problems. During my checkup this year, I met Dr. Hillerby. I was very impressed with her knowledge about hearing loss and hearing aids. In additional to being very professional, I found her to both friendly and compassionate, so it was easy for me to discuss my hearing loss with her. Before I left, she gave me several pamphlets about various hearing aids. A few weeks later, I had my first appointment with Dr. Hillerby. She thoroughly explained the benefits of the various hearing aids and was very helpful in assisting me in choosing the best aid for my severe hearing loss. I was never pressured to purchase anything. The hearing aids that I did purchase have been better than I could have ever expected. The new technology has made it so much easier to function when I am in crowds as well as to listen to the TV. In addition, the new ear molds that Dr. Hillerby made for me are far more comfortable than any that I have ever had. Dr. Hillerby invited me to make two more appointments with her during the first six weeks that I had my new hearing aids to make sure that they were meeting all of my needs. During both of those follow-up appointments, she adjusted the new aids so that they would meet all of my hearing needs. She decided to return them and did so but was informed that Florida Law required Troy to charge us $450 for the return. Troy could have waved the fee but held fast and was close to senior abuse in his tone considering our return request. Not knowing where to go for a dead hearing aid issue, in a new location was a bit frightening; however the good Lord blessed me by pointing me in the direction of New Way hearing. They didn't know me from Adam, but still bent over backwards to assist me in determining the reason for the death of my hearing aid. They determined it was beyond a simple cleaning, looked up my hearing aid serial number on the manufacturers website, found it was under warranty, and sent it in for service. The hearing aid returned before they promised, called me, and had the aid set up and ready to roll when I arrived. All that service, and it was FREE! No pressure to sell me anything.
