Think twice before using this company. If you are a detailed person and likes to have everything in writing, then I would not recommend US Cabinetworks. I did NOThave a signed contract with them, so they had the right to not do my kitchen cabinets if that is want they wanted to do.
I wanted custom cabinets but wanted to keep my same layout of my original cabinets. I had US Cabinetworks come out and measure, they drew me up a plan and said they emailed it to me, come to find out they were sending it to an incorrect email. Once I received the Plan (drawing) the custom Pantry, spice cabinet, toe kick drawer and another set of cabinets were left off the Plan (drawing), there were no dimensions just a picture of a tall cabinet.
I kept telling the Designer Ahmed that some of the dimensions of the cabinets were off, and he said before production they will come again and measure. I said no way was I signing a contract with incorrections dimensions, because the contract states "Per Plan". I am a very detailed person and I wanted to make sure that the contract stated solid maple doors, frameless, full overlay, end panels made with ¾" cabinet grade maple plywood (didn't want MDF),etc. This information was not included in the contract.
So, I had David the owner come back out to remeasure for the final drawing so I could sign the contract. David came over and looked at my Kitchen and said you need an island instead of peninsula (I never requested this, but I was willing to look at his idea). So, few days later I received the drawing for the island. They were putting in a 33" sink base vs the 36" sink base I had. The sink I am having installed requires a minimum 36" base, per David he said the sink would fit, just wouldn't be able to put in the sink clips, but it would still work. But the island was not for us, the way the plans were, where the sink was going to be located there was no counter on the right-hand side and the dishwasher on the left, that was my only counter. I emailed Ahmed that I wanted a revision on the first drawing (in my head I knew what I was asking but I should have stated in the email the drawing with the Peninsula). Well Ahmed emails me back in all CAPS, " I HAVE SENT IT THE AFTER THE PHONE CALL I WILL SEND IT AGAIN", I apologized to him for the miscommunication.
He must have blind copied the owner David, and David emailed me back and wrote "were going to pass on this kitchen sorry". That was it, no explanations. He would not answer my phone calls or text messages. I finally emailed him back with "Can you please be a little more professional and explain why after 6 weeks of trying to get my kitchen design correct, you decided not to do my kitchen". David emailed me back and said "I just picked up way to many contracts in the past week that are ready too go and your not. Ahmed lost a lot of time changing you plan he is 10 drawings behind and has no free time so I made the decision to stop",
I was not the one who requested the second plan for an Island this was all David, if they were so busy then why would he even suggest it. We would have not had to keep requesting the plans to be updated if they were done correctly and items were not left off and dimensions were not accurate. I told David, "You cannot expect a client to sign a contract when it states per plan and the plan is not accurate. They wasted 6 weeks of my time. you will not be getting a good review on Yelp"
All I wanted was to have the Plans correct and everything I wanted in writing (Yes I required a lot of extra work for them, but that is their job, some clients are more needy then others). I did not want to have the cabinets installed and be told sorry it was not in the contract. This is okay, I went with another Cabinet maker. read more
