I recently used UrbanSource for the first time to have kitchen counter tops installed. The representative Sabrina Smith was excellent. I was new to the process and decisions that I needed to make. Sabrina was knowledgable and showed great patience in answering my questions, to help me understand the process. I must have visited the showroom 2 or 3 times with questions and discussion of the project. I wanted to get this right, and Sabrina was instrumental in helping me. Her knowledge was helpful to me in making the best decisions for my project. The workmen arrived on time, and worked non-stop to complete the project. They did not rush, but took care to ensure the counters were done correctly. They also cleaned up and asked for a broom to sweep up a little after they completed the job. I am very satisfied with the counters I choose, and the installation work to put them in. I plan to use this company again, and highly recommend them. read more

Job number two went just fine, a couple of hiccups but Kevin took care of all. These people are very easy to work with, they are the benchmark for remodeling and upgrading projects. I did all the plumbing re connections in bathrooms and kitchen and the house looks like a million dollar house. In the showroom Penny and Rey do everything in their hands to please the customer. Job number three coming up soon and we expect same results, on this next one I will do all the demolition and plumbing re connection as well and they will install the countertops and make one more trip to measure the distance between the tile and the stone. Being newbies it took us some time to chose colors but at the end of the day we are very pleased with the one we selected. Penny has a lot of patience and that helps a lot read more

I would not recommend working with this company. I had an issue at first where the countertop was a significant distance from the wall (backsplash would not conceal) I will say, after a bit of back and forth they did come back and fix and provide a discount for my troubles. I reached out after with some damage that was done to the stone while the workers moved the countertop closer to the wall and was completely ignored. The issue is, the slab used is of low quality. I have sealed the granite multiple times and it still will not pass the darkening test. It's difficult to see in photos provided but the countertop is not very smooth, my house is consistently very clean and every morning I have to wipe the countertops down. It is a very gritty countertop and I'm incredibly disappointed with the end result, I would not recommend using this company for newly installed countertops due to this. Based on everything explained here, I don't expect the company to reach out and I am likely stuck with a granite countertop that will need replaced sooner rather than later. I'm simply posting this so others are aware of the potential Stone purchased: Luna Pearl (Granite) 12/1/2021 Update: Same person who I originally dealt with (Reyhan) who I think is the Raleigh location leadership figure. Has direct messaged me on Yelp, mind you they also responded to my Google review and stated that someone would be reaching out to me (no one did although, I didn't expect anyone to) Reyhan is the same person whom I dealt with directly to have the original job fixed and made correct, also worth noting she is the same person who gave me a discount, for whatever that is worth. She is also... the same person who completely ignored my message politely asking to have the granite repaired after is was damaged by the workers who came back and reset the granite into a correct spot. (I'm happy to provide email proof of the message + lack of response if needed) In the message I received I am simply told that I am not sealing my countertop, that's it. Nothing more, nothing less. Completely ignored the fact that the granite is not smooth and has clear divets all over it when in direct sunlight. While I am no granite expert, I am intelligent enough to understand that granite needs to be sealed every few months and spills need to be wiped up (apparently they thought my issue is that I didn't know that, shocking...) I hope this review helps someone understand what they're potentially getting themselves into while doing business. Shop around, get quotes. Do your due diligence and pray that if you do work with Urban source you don't have any issues like I have. read more

When we started our search for countertops we did some research and spoke with several fabricators before settling on Urban Source due to the amazing customer service we received. When it was time to move forward with our purchase, we reached back out and got everything scheduled to pick out slabs at a supplier and then meet with Urban Source to discuss details of fabrication. I reached out to our original point of contact who informed me she was having another sales associate help formulate a quote as she was busy that day and that our appointment would still be on for the following day. I walk in and recognize the original point of contact who I also spoke on the phone with confirming our timed appointment the day before and was completely ignored- no wave, no smile so it was way too much to expect her to get up and inform us that she had passed off the job completely to someone else. We decided to give the new sales rep a try as we thought maybe we walked in on a bad day and we were coming in from out of state and didn't have many options so last minute. BIG MISTAKE. The new sales rep was friendly and helpful until she was "no longer employed." We got passed back to the original sales rep who sent us our measurements back after a week of sitting on them in a very rude email ensuring we take blame for any mis-measurements and stating she isn't sure they can accommodate the agreed upon schedule if there is anything in the measurements I needed to change (this was again after a week had gone by with the measurements in their hands). When I called the day before install to ensure we were still on the schedule I was told the sales rep left early for the day with no communication, leaving others to figure out and communicate with me. Install went fine (these guys were great) and then a couple days later as I'm waiting for the sales rep to call for final payment, I get an email that she decided to charge my card with out my consent for the remainder. I have no clue how this place has any stars. I actually got more countertops done, same as the kitchen for cheaper and AMAZING customer service elsewhere about a month later and wish I would have done that all along. I live in a new build community with others looking to do the same thing and I've told every single person NOT to use Urban Source. read more

Let me preface this by saying this review is for their service, not their product. We had picked a slab of granite that we really liked, but it had one odd colored spot in it that we weren't fond of (they had 3 of the same type). One of the 3 slabs was already cut, but I wanted to know if they could use a different slab if it didn't have the same spot. The guy helping us said they would have to use the already cut piece. After he walked away, a different employee said "We can use any of the slabs, we're not going to make you get stuck with a spot you don't like." So I thought that was reassuring. We went ahead and scheduled the measurement appointment. When making the appointment, our sales guy had asked if we already had a sink for the new countertop and I said yes. That was all he asked about it. Well fast forward to the day the guy is out here taking measurements. He asks to look at the sink we were planning on using (it's a ceramic undermount, and was still new in the box) and I asked him if he was going to take it with him so that they could attach it to the countertop before install day. He said because of the weight of the sink, the day of install they'll have to build a support system for it and then put the countertop on top. Okay, that's fine. But then a day or two later I get an email from our sales guy saying that WE would need to build a support for the sink. So we had to pay someone to build a support and install the sink. Once that was done, I emailed our sales guy and said the sink is done and I asked if they were going to come back out and take final measurements since it was installed now. He responded and said that they would have to charge a $75 trip fee if they had to come back out, and that if the sink did not match up to the layout draft (that they had created BEFORE THE SINK WAS EVEN INSTALLED) that he wasn't sure they could get that spot out that we didn't like. This is what I don't understand. If he would have just clarified what kind of sink we were using in the first place, we could have avoided this. He should have said "Hey this is going to need to be installed first to get final measurements as we're only going to make 1 trip." Needless to say I was very frustrated, and put it out of my mind as we had a lot going on. So a couple weeks go by, and then yesterday I noticed a $250 charge to my credit card. Then I check my email and see that our sales guy had said "Unfortunately, I had to cancel the job." with no further explanation. I assume it was from lack of communication, but in my defense, I had explained to him that this project was taking a long time, and also, it was only a few weeks, not like it had been months. Anyone who does remodeling knows how long these things take. Anyways, we called them today, and the lady who answered the phone was very rude and seem like she didn't even want to be there. So she has our guy call us back, and he says the $250 was the measurement fee. Which blows my mind, because every other countertop place charges $49-$99 for measurements. So now I am out $250 for absolutely nothing, and I still have no countertop. I am writing this review to hopefully save someone from the headache that we had to deal with. read more

Experience was good until the install. Guys nicked the hot water pipe(PEX) in the wall when removing drywall to slide the countertop back causing a leak. The company arraigned for a plumber to repair the pipe. Luckily the plumber and I were able to peel back the wallpaper backsplash to allow for him to cut out the drywall where the repair was made. The company discounted my price by $300 to compensate me for doing the drywall/backsplash repair. This occurred on a Friday. I did not want to be without my kitchen for the weekend to they agreed to send guys back on Sat. to complete the install. After approximately 3 hours on Sat., I was told they were done and ready to leave. I had stayed on the second floor with a door closed due to the grinding/sanding taking place. When I came down, all I could see was the thick bright white caulk running around the top of the backsplash. Ugh!! THe countertop is quartz with a greyish tint so bright white stands out. I did not even complain to them because I just wanted them out of the house so I could fix it. After taking care of the caulk on the backsplash, I was going to hook up the sink which was an undermount. I noticed one side of the sink had a larger gap with the countertop than the other side. It did not even make a seal with the silicone bead. Discovered the issue was the clips to hold the sink to the countertop had not been installed on one side of the sink. Sooo...ended up not having a functioning sink for the weekend. Also discovered a chip in the backsplash that had not been repaired and a chip at a seam had been epoxied with bright white epoxy and was not buffed out. I sent an email with pictures to my sales rep and waited for Monday to come. I was contacted first thing Monday morning by the Sale Rep. They sent an install Manager out to look at the issues that morning. He was able to install the clips for the sink and fix both chips to my satisfaction so they we not as noticeable. THe company did try to address all issues but I lack confidence in the installers so if I were buying another countertop to be installed, I would go elsewhere. read more

About 3 days ago I emailed Urban Source requesting a quote to install granite countertops in my kitchen. My email specifically said " I would like to get a quote to install granite countertops in my kitchen. Nothing else. Today, I received a call from their office. The lady was very nice and started asking questions about my cabinets. I said, "I have already restored my cabinets and I don't need any remodeling done, I would just like a quote for granite countertops." She set up the appointment, told me they would call before they came and gave me a time slot. A few minutes later, she called back and cancelled the appointment stating there was some confusion with the appointment she set up and that an installer would call to set up another. So far, no one has called. Something didnt' see right about it. My guess is, it was not a big enough project for them to come out so they simply made up an excuse to cancel. I guess if they can't remodel your whole kitchen, it's not worth it. No worries, there are plenty of people that want small jobs. Just be honest and say it's not worth your time. read more

We are currently doing a whole house remodel on a home we purchased and we were having some bad experiences with other contractors we've hired. Urban Source was the highlight to it all. After my experience with some of the other contractors, I was losing faith and feeling like we were taking on more than we could handle in this project. Urban Source shined a new light on what seemed to be a dreadful process. We actually had another counter top business come out to do an estimate and after a week of not hearing back from them we went to Urban Source. They were able to get me a quote the same day and a drawing the next. We actually did hear back from the other business and their quote was MUCH higher for the same stone we chose. I'm glad it took them as long as it did. Anyone that has done a remodel knows you can't start another project till something else gets done so the process can take forever. You need people that are efficient and timely, these guys are it. We were assisted by Carla. She was new at the time, but did everything she could to keep us updated and was extremely helpful and patient throughout everything. I own my own business as well and hope they know what a gem they have. Thank you Carla, I hope you get to see this. I will ask for you again for future projects. You were very sweet and helpful during a stressful time for me. The countertops were installed about a month ago. They look great and I couldn't be happier. I really wanted to add pictures, but the house is still being remodeled and it's a bit messy. read more

Absolutely the worse customer service I have seen in a long time. The installers were supposed to have called prior to showing up, no phone call, just a guy on my front porch telling me he was there... Carla was a nightmare to work with... only communicated by email, except when it came time to get paid, then she miraculously picked up the phone to call me.. The only reason I used this group was because my realtor suggested we should... After this experience the realtor is looking for a new supplier. If you can avoid these people, do so... I also heard a similar story from Oak City Contractors, whom I highly recommend. Just my experience folks, but obviously there is a pattern here.... read more
