Have been to Urbana brewing twice and enjoyed both times. First was just for a flight which I enjoyed up on the roof, which is spacious and has a smidge of a view of downtown. Pretty decent beers. Second time I brought my nephews and we had a grilled cheese sandwich and gluten free pizza. Food was great! We played some of the available board games. Service is fine, neither time was anyone super attentive, but not awful either.

The one reason I visited Urbana Brewing Company is that they hired my friend Dr Chris Bingman as the entertainment, or it may more accurately stated because Chris invited me. I appreciate that this establishment supports live. music. The gal at the bar was good at suggesting a beer to try. Mat was very friendly and likable. I can't comment on the food as I had dinner with family prior to heading to Urbana I heard the pizza is good and I really want to try it before I head back to San Diego. The only downside was getting there as someone that doesn't know Urbana and is easily confused by traffic circles. I recommend this spot to those who enjoy craft beer. I had to tell myself I was paying for the entertainment and the beer was free as the beer was more pricy than I prefer. But I recon it was in line with the new norm.

Urbana Brewing Company. This is just weird, coming back in town and finding a brewery here, I guess it's a sign of the times, for sure. To begin - they have a back entrance attached to the parking lot next to Coppertop/Brackens. It was an oddly windy/chilly day, which made it easy to come straight in (and next to the restrooms) and bring in our Crabill's (that's part of a weekend Saturday Urbana trip - Crabill's Hamburgers every time). It's ROOMY. Large, open air space, next to the brewing equipment, and a nice little bar front to order from. Arcade cabinet in by the front door, plenty of seating for our (10-14?) people that came in at varying times. We took over the upstairs - remember how I said it was windy and chilly? They have two igloos - HEATED. And a fence around it (with a couple glass panels overlooking the square - bad me, I didn't take many photos this day). We stayed warm and comfortable, and the wind (and rain) didn't even affect us. A bar is ALSO upstairs (but not open on this afternoon). The food: Yes, I brought crabill's. Yes, the bartenders were jealous. But some of our friends in the area are spoiled, so they bought several items on the menu. Quesadillas. Chicken tenders. Pizza. The food was all definitely solid (and I've only heard their brunch is just as good). Get the hot honey with your pizza. Bring the kids. It's all good and not complicated or annoying - just tasty. The beer: It's a brewery, right? Their beer is good. It's not AMAZING. It's not going to blow you away, but for a town brewery? It IS amazing. Their food is incredibly tasty, the beers are decent (personally, I really enjoyed the blonde, blueberry wheat, coffee stout, and vanilla imperial porter). It's basically a great location to meet my local friends, knowing we have good food there (or a short walk away if we are feeling something different). I hear they're expanding - and it deserves the love. Looking forward to see what new beers they come up with.

This weekend we went to the Cellarbration 2026 held at this location. Every couple of years, they crack open a few treasures and share some special releases. This year, they had 22 choices, including my husband's favorite Warped Wing beer of all time, the 2019 Baltic Porter, aged in port wine barrels. We split a trio of sliders and a specialty flavor of wings, Honey Butter Buffalo, which were especially good. We liked all 3 sliders, but the stand out was the pulled pork...absolutely delicious! Because of the event, it was pretty busy at noon but the staff kept things cleared and cleaned. The bathrooms were clean but bare bones. It was quite loud for lunchtime but nothing that would keep us from returning.

Now: beer is awesome, food is terrible (for beer food). They're out of fries on a Sunday. They can't seem to figure out how to add my food to my bar-side tab. They're inflexible on the fries substitution. The part of my brisket sandwich that wasn't all fat was good, but there was a lot of fat. There are some restaurants that I look forward to visiting on return business trips. Not this one.

We'd been in this place before just for a quick appetizer and drinks but today we decided to try…read morethe food! We got the buffalo wings, crawfish topped seasoned steak and Cajun shrimp pasta. Everything we had was awesome! The wings were crispy and had a great sauce to them! I'd definitely recommend. I had the shrimp pasta and I liked the garlic and spice flavor and that it wasn't a huge helping of pasta!! My husband got the steak and we are cautious about ordering steaks anywhere but the cook came out perfect and he couldn't stop talking about the flavor!! Of course we got some drinks and they were also well prepared. They have a buddy the elf cocktail that was a fun end to the meal!! The staff and the patrons were very nice and we will be back! We were thinking about heading to get food in Columbus today but was glad we didn't. I think we would have been hard pressed to find as good of food, service and atmosphere as we did here!!

Every time we get a dish that consists of a chicken breast, either on a sandwich, or on top of a dish, or the entree itself, it is so very dry and tough because it is over cooked. I would think you could just use a thermometer to get the temp right and not have it be so very dry. Last visit was on 04/29/26 and we had both the Chickie Club, and Swiss Chicken. We both said we won't get anymore chicken breast unless they can figure out how to cook it so it isn't shoe leather. Again, we love this place and will continue to eat here, but sure hope they can learn how to cook the chicken.
