Happy to support a local small black owned business. Overall I was happy and full. My lobster and grits were delicious. I truly enjoyed the food. The sauce was amazing. The lobster chunks were perfectly sized. The green and yellow peppers added brightness. It was flavor and well seasoned. I was trying the car brunch concept they were offering. You literally pull up to a back door and they give you food. It's like curbside. So that's the good news. The bad news is the chicken and waffle. The chicken was seasoned and cooked perfectly. THE WAFFLE WAS ROCK HARD. So for this I have to remove a star. Also they forgot my silverware. I can't eat my car brunch with my hands. Luckily I keep plastic forks in my car. I would definitely eat here again. No waffles though. Honorable mention* The candied bacon was tasty. The to go mimosa was GREAT! A good brand of juice and champagne. Some of the BEST brunch that I've ever had in Plano. I tried out their car brunch today (Sunday) and it was beyond amazing. First, the people who work here are SO kind and they were so awesome. Service is so important and they really do a great job at providing a great experience. I ordered the fried green tomato Benedict and also the pulled pork with biscuits and they were both SPECTACULAR. I'm already craving it again! I highly recommend Urban Taste. I love this place, the car brunch is excellent and the small meals they make for holidays are the best. I was surprised to find out that they're not just for big parties. For Mother's Day I ordered a small dinner with ham, Mac and cheese, sweet potatoes and greens. The meals include instructions on how to cook/reheat later. There was enough to feed four people comfortably. After I plated it it looked like I had cooked it myself --- I decided then and there that I would never cook big dinners again. Oh! We used Urban Taste for a company lunch to feed 110 people and it was a great experience! The food arrived on time and held up beautifully. Terrific Taste! I was planning a cocktail reception with two weeks' notice at the Oakpoint Retreat Ctr. To make matters worse, I was trying to arrange this from over a thousand miles away. I found Urban Taste's website and really liked the look of their offerings and we managed to get it all done by email. They were super flexible and quick to respond. I was able to switch out some of the alcohol and make changes to the menu. The food was delicious--from the mini lobster roll to the sliced tenderloin on crostini to the jerk chicken satay. The staff had it all set up on time and was unobtrusive and gracious. They kept the food and drink flowing seamlessly. Clean-up was done in a blink of an eye. I hired Urban Taste Catering for my son's first birthday party. I was actually between her and another caterer but ended up going with Tiffany because she was really on top of getting the quote back to me and making the adjustments I requested. We communicated mostly via email and she was always quick to respond. Tiffany put together a fantastic menu and the food got rave reviews from our guests. We went with BBQ type food that included her Dirty Deviled Eggs (topped with brisket). They were SO good. People raved about the Mac and Cheese balls also. Her and her assistant chef were very professional and extremely nice. They put together a beautiful table design for the event also and left everything clean and tidy before leaving. The only tiny flaw was that she said she would arrive at 2:00 pm for the party which started at 4:00 and at 2:30 I did have to contact her to see why she had not arrived. She got there around 2:45 which stressed me a little bit because the food was not ready at 4:00. I overlooked this in my review rating because they did such a good job with everything else. My employer and all our guests were so pleased and impressed with the flavor and presentation of the food. She cooked onsite so everything was fresh...all day long. I used Urban Catering to cater my twins 4 year old birthday party and was very disappointed. The tasting was great and I have used them in the past, but this time the food was completely not the same quality as in the tasting. Instead of grilled veggies, I received boiled one. My steak was tuff and the chicken for the tacos was not seasoned at all. I believe they may be fine for small events, but the food is bland and very poor quality for larger functions. read more
