DO NOT COME HERE , I do not recommend this place. I spent two hours and $80 on a manicure and pedicure that were poorly done--something my niece or I could have done better. I've been going to Urban Nail Bar for years and always have a great experience, the service is consistent, the staff is friendly, and I always leave happy with my nails. However, during my last visit, I was seen by a lady who only works on weekends and is a bit older. While she was nice, she kept trying to get me to go to a different salon she works at. It made the experience feel a little uncomfortable since I've been loyal to Urban Nail Bar and come here for a reason. I went in today for a pedicure at 38 weeks pregnant and she was so kind in making sure I was comfortable the whole time. I've been coming here since I've moved to Charlotte for my pedicures and it's really been one of my favorite self care spots depending on who I get. It's beautiful and the atmosphere is outstanding however I've come to the conclusion that the care of my actually toes are not my favorite and I've been coming back out of loyalty instead of actual like of the service done. I always feel like I have to go back and micromanage to make sure they come out how I want and I hate feeling like I have to do that. The language barrier makes it hard to communicate my frustrations. My feet are never scrubbed thoroughly and my toe nails are never trimmed down or trimmed evenly (even when I ask). I also ended up with my two of my cuticle's extremely sore and uncomfortable (thankfully not bleeding anymore). The polish was also layered unevenly. To be paying $70-$85 for a service that is listed at $55 and never fully satisfied unfortunately I think this'll be my last time going back. read more

I went to an appointment here for nails and pedicure. They wanted to do my mani and pedi at the same time, which I appreciated to save time. However, because my hands were in my lap the whole time, and I didn't have enough towel coverage, I got the dip powder all over my work clothes, and I'm concerned it won't come out. As for the manicure, I asked for a round shaped mail, and she gave me oval, and filed down my nails way too much. Not only are they filed down, but the shapes don't match from one to the next (one is pointed oval the next is more round etc). The topcoat gel did not cure on my thumb leaving it sticky and not shiny , I will have to fix that when I get home with my gel clearcoat and light. As for the pedicure, it took about an hour and a half half. But it was not an hour and a half of relaxation. I really just wanted to get out of there, there were bugs flying around, which may have been because of all of the rainy weather in Charlotte right now, but it was not a good experience, I will not be back, and I would never recommend this place to anyone. read more

My friend and I did a walk in appointment on a Saturday. They were super nice and offered us a drink while we waited (we had water). His simple manicure turned out wonderfully, however, mine was a train wreck. I got tips and SNS dip with a red French tip. They are crazy uneven in multiple ways. My thumbs are two completely different lengths. Every nail was also overly filed where the tips were placed so each nail looks like it has a weird dip to it. Went here yesterday for the first time and was least thank pleased with my experience. I got a classic mani/pedi. My pedicure was fine but my manicure was a disaster. First, I had to have dip removed. She handy half did this. I noticed she didn't get all of it off and pointed it out and she took a cuticle cutter to my nails!!! Talk about damaging. She also still left more dip on and painted over it but I was too scared to say anything. I asked for rounded nails and she gave me square even after I mentioned it 5 times. Lastly I have a broken finger that is healing and told her more than 6x and she kept forgetting or looking away and pulling at it. Ive never had such a horrible experience with a nail tech. Went in with my daughter and mother. We all started about the same time. My mom was explaining about one nail being painful when the technician (who had already removed her polish, done her cuticles and started to file her nails) just gathered all her tools and said "wait here for someone to do your nails". She walked away. We were all very confused. Two technicians were free but they went to collect a new costumer from the waiting area. I asked if someone was going to finish. "Yes, she will." I found them on Yelp and chose to visit, because on the weekday that I did, they were one of the salons that opened the soonest. It's very pretty inside: in the center is a very large two sided bar, with bar height chairs where you can get an manicure . Along the walls are a couple dozen ( or what looks to be a couple dozen) pedicure chairs. I have no doubt if you were not able to sit at the bar, they could accommodate you and do your manicure in a chair. I also believe I saw a pedicure chair specifically for children. My gel manicure was standard, good, I believe they used DNI brand, but not totally sure. When picking my color I saw they did have A LOT to choose from . The woman who did my nails was polite and accommodating, used warm towels, shaped my nails well, and gave a good hand/arm massage. read more

Once again another nail salon has failed me. Maybe I'm just picky but I hate when my nails are not close to perfect. If I'm going to pay $40 for dipping powder I want it to look great when I leave. I had to coach her on how they should look then she drilled the colored powder off on accident and instead of fixing it tried to paint clear over it like I wasn't going to notice. This is by FAR the BEST nail salon I have ever been to. Every time I call (last minute) to see if they have something available, they ALWAYS get me in. They never turn anyone away and the wait (if any) is not bad at all! I particularly get my nails done with Mary since my roommate recommended her, however everyone is great and so friendly! I walked in 8 minutes after the store opened and it was pretty busy already. Walked in and checked in and asked the host about wait time with the volume and he told me 20-30 mins after about 45 mins someone checked on me and asked me if I wanted a drink. After an hour I asked how much longer and was told he had no idea. Other customers started to comment on the fact that I had been sitting there for over an hour. Tried Urban for the first time and it just didn't do it for me. The potential is there and the location is good - but it was probably the least relaxing pedicure of my entire life. First off the water was cold and I had to ask to heat it up, the technician had to use a pitcher to scoop out the cold water and fill it with hot. I noticed other reviewers mentioned this too, I'm surprised it's a consistent issue. My chair made a horrible noise when trying to use the massage features to a point where I had to turn it off. The response I got was "I'm sorry, it must not be working" there were 5 other chairs available that they didn't offer to move me to, just had me turn the chair off. On top of all that, there was a group of young girls in here playing their own music - talking on FaceTime with friends being so loud that I had to ask them to turn it down. I don't know how the manager feels like that kind of behavior is at all acceptable for other customers. Normally I love a pedicure, but I was counting down the seconds until it was over. read more

So I set my appointment for a brow wax and tint with a pedi. I came in and no one asked if I had an appointment then I told her what I came in for and they tell me they can't give me an eye brow wax, which lets be honest they don't take that long.. then for a pedi I was charged 70. It was put on as a thick mess and the polish must have been old. This happened the last time I was there and I went back and the manager redid my toe polish and gel fingernail polish. $35.00 later and I need to redo my toenail polish.
