Quite disappointed honestly. The nail tech I originally had was very clearly not in a great mood at all! I like to think that you never know what's going on in someone's personal life, but that kind of went out the window when she used the nail file to file through the side of the skin on my thumb. There was no cut down the side of my thumb before stepping into that Salon, an FYI just so that readers are aware. She was filing down the side of my thumb, then I started to feel it sting while talking to my friend, and then the next thing I know there's shooting pain down my finger and I'm bleeding. In order to attempt to solve this problem, my nail take pushed her thumb deeply on the cut that she had created , and then continued to file even further into my skin resulting in more blood. No apology or care from her at all on the matter. Rude. I didn't even complain, I simply said "that hurts quite a lot, you've cut the side of my thumb so please can you stop"...and she continued regardless until anther nail tech stepped in and moved her onto another poor client. This was quite a horrific experience, she did not shape the nails well at all and a younger nail tech - who seem to know what she was doing - created the shape & colour that you see in the picture in order to try and resolve what the other lady had done. I would give three/four stars to the younger girl as she was very kind and talkative, unlike her colleague who was moody and ignored every question I had. The younger nail tech took great care in avoiding that cut that had been created and apologised profusely even though she was not the one who created it. But for $60...not worth it. Overall: better places to go, nails aren't fab but not awful thanks to the second nail tech, just miss this one in my opinion. Will not return. read more

do not go here for a pedicure. every single one of my toes were bleeding because they cut them so short. then the nippers tore of my skin so bad the water was red. The paint job was ridiculously bad. I asked for a palm tree and got a tarantula. I have never had such horrible service. They charged me 100 dollars for the wrong color paint, bleeding toes and not even close to what I asked for. Got really disappointed about this place. Been coming here for years. First couple time the owners Wife did Amazing Job than last 3 time I came she didn't take as much time as she alway did and the quality wasn't the same. Last night I came to get my dip powder( which cost just to color it $35 )and sadly this morning woke up and all my nails were chips than came in the morning and asked if she can fix it and she told me that they were booked for whole day everyone. Really disappointed in this places customer service. I loved it I was recommending this place to all clients and just like that one time asked them to fix it and she had no interest and didn't even offer a refund. I never leave reviews but I'm very disappointed in my visit today. I came in to get a pedi and immediately the older man idk his name was so rude! He sat me down and he noticed I had gel polish and got his tools he was having a hard time taking of the gel polish and got frustrated he even threw the tool all mad. He started talking in his language and alll the ladies that spoke the same language turned around to look at me so I knew he was talking about me. I honestly felt to humiliated. I've been going to this salon for a couple of months now and haven't had any issues up until my last 2 appointments. Let me start by saying the ladies here do a fabulous job but the gentleman who helped me during my last appointment and who helped my mom during our last weekend visits was very unprofessional. Last month when I went he rushed thru my pedi and cut me several times but I brushed it off I needed my pedi done and I'm not one to complain. Last Sunday's appt was bad he rushed thru my moms pedi also cut the nails crooked when I asked him to cut down/ file 2 particular nails he pretended like he did something and turned around to talk to another coworker, he seemed annoyed at the fact I asked him do it. He left my mom with just color didn't put a top coat the lady who was doing my pedi saw how upset my mom was and rushed to do the clear coat. This is my first time going back to Urban Dolls since it changed owners and it was a big disappointment. The most striking difference is how dirty and run down it has become. I'm talking the kind of dirty that indicates this place hasn't been cleaned well in weeks and the kind of run down that makes me wonder whether they will even bother to fix the damage or just keep letting it get worse. Cobwebs, dusty, empty shelves with one hanging askew, dingy walls with nail polish on them and even one long patch where damage was covered with strips of white tape. The windows were filthy with streaky handprints. The floor was a mess of dust and small debris. Several windows had been covered with paper and tape, I'm guessing to keep sunlight out, but it doesn't look professional. The previous owners would offer coffee, soda, or wine with a mani/pedi service, and though I could see the coffee machine was still there, it wasn't offered. This isn't so much a complaint as an observation, as I know things like that can change under new owners. The price of the service was still the same though. I always thought the coffee and wine was a nice touch that really made this place stand out from the rest. The results of the manicure and pedicure were mediocre at best. They did the manicure at the same time as the pedicure, which is normally fine, but in this instance they had me awkwardly reach my right hand over to the left side of the chair, so my body was uncomfortably twisted the whole time. The staff was just sort of present, neither friendly or unfriendly. They did seem to tease me a bit about my short toenails and the hangnail on my finger (which was one of the reasons I went in the first place). I used to like Urban Dolls for all the things that made it stand out from the rest (the decor is the same under the layers of dust, so that's still unique), but all that makes it stand out now is how grimey everything is and how blah the service has become. I got a full set of acrylics and a pedicure. Pedicure was amazing and she was very thorough and wasn't in a rush. For the acrylics they turned out beautiful and she was great at checking that I liked how they were looking. The only downside was that she was a bit rough with my nails and they were sore for a day after. It was as if the beds of my nails were bruised. The atmosphere is friendly and professional. I also rated it only 3 stars due to the fact that it was very expensive. For my acrylics and basic pedicure it was around $100. I will be going back only for special occasions. read more

Came to my scheduled appointment and was related 40 min after. Once the bail tech was going my nails, I showed her the picture of what I wanted and started talking to her co-workers. I couldn't understand what they were saying but she quickly told me to go sit at another chair. There another bail tech began to do my nails. I kept asking him the price and he wouldn't tell me. He was almost done with my full set and he told me it would be $60 nothing special about these nails and I was very upset at this point. I asked him to redo one of my nails because he put it on crooked. He said it would only take a little bit to fix so he cut it off and began to soak it off. I told him I only had 5 min until I had to leave. 10 min go by and he said it would be another 30 to fix my nail. Was not happy about the customer service and the bail quality was way below average!! I have had it two times now and waited to write a review to see if the service was the same both times and it was. I wish that the employees would be REQUIRED to give each other a pedicure. So they know how it feels to have someone aggressively rub the TOP of your foot. Yesterday, in addition to my pedicure, I also got a manicure. After the clipping, filing and painting was done, I started to remove my bracelets in preparation for the hand & arm massage. She tells me "No. It's ok." And indicated that I should not remove them. She then makes several attempts to get some lotion out of the clearly empty lotion bottle. When I laughed and said "Looks like you're about out of lotion." She thrust her open hand at me to show me she DID get some lotion out. The small amount of lotion was lazily applied to my hand/arm with minimal attempt to rub it in. And certainly NO attempt to actually massage. I was pissed. I still am!
