We were trying to find some food to buy to take on the plane with us. A lot of options were already pre-made and unfortunately with my food sensitivities it's hard to take pre-made options. So we decided perhaps Urban Crave would be a good option. We were standing at the entrance for a while before finally getting acknowledged and after we said can we take it to-go, they said no they don't do to-go orders. It was unfortunately a wasted amount of time for us. It would be nice to show somewhere that they only do dine in service or perhaps someone at the desk in front to deal with folks who are waiting. It is an open air area to dine which is nice though loud as you're in the hustle and bustle of the airport. It is conveniently located near the restrooms. read more

Sloooooooooow service, and grumpy to boot. Soggy fries, and a bacon burger that screams frozen food. What a let-down.

Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. This was the slowest service ever received. Perhaps it was a slow kitchen. We sat for over an hour and the waiter didn't come once to refill our water. There was also no explanation for a delay. The food was ok. read more

I stopped here while waiting for my flight and wasn't very happy with the experience. I was seated quickly which was nice. I ordered the chicken tenders with bbq and honey mustard sauce. I also got a water which the cup had lots of chips around the rim where pieces of the cup were actually rubbing off into the drink. I asked for another one and my server did get me a new one which was better but still chipped. She mentioned that when they put the cup into the ice it must chip the rim. The honey mustard sauce is 99% mustard which I don't prefer but that's just a personal preference. The BBQ sauce was bland but still tasted good and I used most of that up to help the chicken which was also bland. The chicken had good texture and was crispy. The fries were kind of soggy and kind of warm. I was seated on the side where you face a wall with some badly traced lines from some leftover construction. The server was nice and helpful but for $31 this meal was not worth that at all. read more

Located near Gate C77. Excellent Montreal Benedict with homemade Hollandaise sauce. The Smoked Meat was more like thin sliced Pastrami, but still great. The breakfast potatoes are like potato wedges fries, awesome! The Urban Breakfast Bun was a nice breakfast sandwich with eggs and smoked meat on a light bun. My wife enjoyed it. read more

I came in to place a to go order. The hostess wasn't attentive. Instead of finishing taking my order, she kept on helping other customers that came in later than me. Once my order was taken with the help of another worker from the bar, I took a seat the high table at the very back. When my order arrived, I opened it to take a bite. The hostess came to let me know that I can't eat here because it was a to-go order. I had tipped 15% as if I was getting service. I had wanted to order to-go so that I could make my flight if service was taking awhile or if I had any leftover. This is very reasonable at airports. The restaurant was also empty except for 3 tables. There was no reason for her to be this unprofessional. On top of the poor service, the food was very expensive and poor tasting. If management would like to take corrective action, this happened on October 2nd at 12:30pm with transaction #1026 read more

While waiting for our flight back to the United States from Montreal, Diane and I ate dinner here, and were pleased with the food and speed of service. She enjoyed Smoked Meat Poutine with Cheese Curds, and I devoured a very tasty Smoked Meat Sandwich that was much like a Corned Beef Sandwich on Rye, with lean and moist meat. The sandwich came with a filled basket of golden and crisp French Fries. In my silent rating of Corned Beef Sandwiches, the deli-style sandwich served here came just ahead of Junior's in NYC, and slightly behind Reuben's in downtown Montreal. But all of them were worthy contenders as really good eats on the Corned Beef and Reuben Sandwich front. Being seated in wood and metal chairs placed behind wood tables was spartan but functional. And our server, Stephani, was friendly and efficient. read more

$20 CAD for quite a large portion of smoked meat poutine and incredibly kind and quick service. The food was hot, the fries were crispy, the meat tasted like corned beef, and the gravy was the right level of saltiness. Service here is bad. The waitress barely spoke English. Was unfriendly and couldn't manage her tables. Due to her temperament I didn't order food. Just got a glass of wine. And it was an ordeal to just get the check. Many people at the bar were upset with the service and we all stated no tip, which I didn't. read more

My order: smoked meat poutine and a local wheat beer. For airport food, reasonably priced generously portioned and most importantly, tasty beyond expectations. Heaps of cheese curds under the pile of hot and crispy fries. I like my fries on the thicc side so this plate sat well with my tummy. I haven't had a poutine in years and Urban Crave satisfied my once-in-a-decade craving. The fries resisted getting soggy for the entirety of my meal. Friendly service. English is not her first language, so things got lost in translation, but she still recommended me this delicious beer (she thought it was an IPA. It's not). She checked on me as needed and took note of my flight departure time to ensure I had cushion to enjoy my meal. Definitely a highlight of my time spent at YUL and would love to try other items on the menu next time I fly out of Montreal. read more

While the Korean sliders were a disappointment I have to say that the poutine was so good I'm going to give them a 4th star. Quite a few people were dining on poutine and while I don't eat this dish regularly I have had it enough times to know a good one from a bad one. This was pretty amazing with all the smoked meats on top too. It's airport pricing but with the US dollar so strong that helped make it not too pricey! read more

Miserable service, miserable restaurant, go elsewhere in the terminal. In addition to the worst ambiance of any of the restaurants, the wait staff was incredibly rude. Immediately upon sitting down in the empty restaurant, the waitress began to cause a scene, and began yelling at me for simply looking at my partner and looking around the restaurant when told that they may have to condense us to a single table if a big flight came in and they became full. Mind you, there was about 5 people there and about 100 seats open at the time. I then asked my partner if we should go somewhere else, and the waitress yanked the menu out of my hand and told us to leave. Absolutely horrible service. read more

I'm glad I gave this a shot. I feel compelled to leave a review because the food options in this terminal are quite limited and pretty much every place has a low review lol. Food: I got a smoked meat sandwich. I enjoyed it. If you're expecting a Schwartz-like sandwich you will be disappointed that there isn't as much meat. I personally prefer the amount of meat in this sandwich because I find other sandwiches over-stuffed. I was surprised to see cheese on the sandwich (it was easy to remove). The sandwich is hot. (Bread is toasted, smeared with mustard, the meat was hot had a nice texture) The pickle was good. The homemade potato chips that it came were awful. They tasted like cardboard. Service: Nice. quick. I was not in a rush but I found the server attentive and competent. read more

The waitress in service on Sunday the 1st of September around 6:00 am very rude. She overreacted when I asked her how long does it take to get the breakfast, I was already waiting like 30 minutes there. She said that she didn't know when I will get my breakfast served and pretty much to leave the restaurant and if I don't have time. What kind of time, we don't know. I don't understand how places like this have to employ bitter and rude people that have no education and minimal manners to deal with people. Hope the owner can address the problem because she is making the customers to leave. read more

Only restaurant at the US departure side of YUL airport. They had a decent menu of quesadilla, burgers, salads and sandwiches. I ordered the chicken quesadilla and a side of potato chips. The quesadilla was big and rich with their local cheese. This enough will hit your hunger spot. I added side of chips to try it since it was dark and crispy. It had a different taste than American cups. The chips were thick and fried until they were dark brown. The chips I felt can go with guacamole, sour cream or cheese alone. I had a courteous and friendly waiter. Even though the wait to order and paying the bill was long, the customer service was enough to forget. I have a long way until my flight so kicked back at the restaurant. They have electrical outlets which is convenient for reading and surfing. read more

We stopped by for a quick bite before takeoff. We asked the server if the food would be able to come out quickly enough for us to make our flight. We settled on three orders of poutine for the three of us. The food came out quickly and the portion was quite large. Only one of us was able to polish our poutine off completely. I credit this meal for helping me sleep the entire flight back home. Definitely get the smoked meat added on top, they plopped a generous heap of it onto each of our dishes. I paid over $35 CAD for a burger, onion rings and a soda. For that price, it should be one of best burgers I've ever had. But the pattie was about the size of a McDonalds pattie and the onions rings were nothing special. I should know better than to eat at the airport. read more

Got to the airport early for my Halifax Flight and decided to have brunch here with Adam. We both got the breakfast poutine which is eggs, potatoes, cheese, and gravy. The food was bland. It wasn't horrible but just meh. Also I don't think it was worth the price tag ($40 for both with tax and tip). You won't get many options in this terminal though as it is for Canada/US departures and it's pretty small. Service is ok, they are fast and the turn around after clients leave is swift so you won't have to wait long for a table. Obviously, if you have other options (brought lunch/wait it out/meal on the plane) take it and don't come here. But it's not horrible if you do go. read more

I was on a layover in YUL with no lounge access. So I had to bite the bullet and pmiay to patronize an airport 'restaurant'. I had no qualms about paying airport prices per se (well I DO, but it's not gotten me anywhere so far...), but I was still coming away from this a little disappointed. This place was pretty packed - a little more as well as a little less compared to other places in the terminal. Having waited some time to be seated, I decided to be a bar fly instead. I was going to go for a smoked meat sandwich without thinking too much about it, but OUCH - $20 for a sandwich (even if it's at an airport, and it's CAD, which is worth about 78 cents at the time of writing). So I went for the smoked meat poutine instead ($15), since I don't remember the last time I had poutine, washing it down with an IPA of unnamed origin. As it turned out, the smoked meats was not what you might call plentiful (1.5 oz. maybe) sitting on top of the fries, gravy and curds. It tasted quite good, but the cheese was not all melted!!!! I'm sorry, but that's not really acceptable for me. The kitchen guy was not all that busy - I would have appreciated ensuring that the cheese IS melted by mic-ing it for 30 seconds. That's what happens when you're held hostage at airports. I doubt, though, that I'd have the Stockholm syndrome and learn to love airport food. read more

BEWARE!!! This place will separate your children like you're in slavery. There is an adjoining pizzeria that my child wanted to order from. If I could leave this place 0 stars, I would. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with no bun and a side Caesar salad. The first burger came out with no cheese or bacon, so I pointed it out to my server. He then proceeded to bring me a cold slice of cheese and some bacon. I was shocked so when he came back around I asked for the cheese to be warmed up. He brought me back a cold cheeseburger. The burger was literally cold to the touch. The server didn't ask once how I was doing or how the food tasted. I finally asked for a manager who was also annoyed that I would complain over their crappy food. There was no apology just dirty looks -- completely unprofessional. I was made to feel guilty that I had the audacity to complain about a cold $20 cheeseburger. Additionally, that sat me next to an area where the staff dropped off all of their dirty glassware. read more

One of the worst dining experiences I have had at an airport. Despite loving my time in Montreal, Urban Crave left me extremely disappointed. My friend and I were seated by an extremely anxious and rude waitress. Prior to taking our order, she said "Ok, I am just going to be putting this on one check. Got that? Only one check". This did not bother us because I know they are often trying to make sure they can get people out in a timely manner at airports and minimizing the number of checks would help. After taking our order, she came back and act if our bill would be on two checks or just one. We stated just one. She read back our order incorrectly and after correcting it, I noticed she seemed to be struggling quite a bit- she would take food to the wrong table, was not clear about how to pay for the bill (you have to pay near the hostess stand but only your waiter/waitress can cash you out). People were often standing around waiting for her to come cash them out and she simply did not pay attention. I witnessed this individual yelling at someone because they did not leave her a tip. While tipping is commonplace in the US and Canada, it is not typical in other areas in the world, so this just seemed unnecessarily disrespectful. On top of that, the food was not good at all. I ordered the Korean chicken sliders and as soon as I bit into one, oil squirted all over my arm. I would not eat here again read more

Very average burger and fries. Burger came out quick but was barely warm with overcooked fries. Overpriced and inadequate serving. It's as average as you can get. I had a 1 hour layover in Montreal when I was en route to the UK, so I entertained myself by grabbing a drink and a quick snack. I found Urban Crave close by my terminal, took a peek at their menu and decided to sit down at one of their tables. The waitress came over and asked right away when my flight was and if I would like something to drink. I really appreciated the fact that she asked when my flight was, because it just shows that the business is being considerate. They have a small menu, but with yummy options. I wanted something light so I decided to get the mixed green salad with curried chicken. After I ordered it, it came out about 5 minutes later. I was so surprised! I also got a regular Caesar to drink with my salad. Both were great and finished very quickly! I was in and out of there in less than half an hour! A last, early morning opportunity to get my Montreal smoked meat on before departing. The resto and bar seem spacious and clean and open early enough for breakfast. Airport dining has never been anyone's favorite thing. But as terminals modernize, food choices have definitely improved. This is not the case at Montreal Airport's Urban Crave. I love this place when I need a quick last minute meal before hopping on a plane. Last time I was here we got chicken sliders for my kids and I got the maple pork belly salad. I know what's the point of a salad when you're gonna pile pork belly on it? But so so good and generous portions!!! We loved our food and other passengers were actually surprised to see how good the food looked. We feasted on the plane while our neighbors had their cheese and crackers. Ha! Luckily, they were such sweet and funny neighbors. So get to the airport early and save yourself the eye rolls. The staff on both occasions were really nice and helpful as I was very weary of ordering airport food. They are mindful that people are in a rush. Today my waitress let me know that judging by how full the dining area was it would be about 10 minutes. She was about right, too, so bravo to her! While at the Pierre Elliot Trudeau airport flying to Las Vegas, the Urban crave caught my attention as they advertised serving "authentic Montreal street cuisine". Curious I was drawn to the large amount of people dining here at 6:00 am. What I soon discovered this place is anything but street food . I ordered the "voted customer's choice" Montreal Eggs Benedict priced at 15$ . This meal includes 2 poached eggs on an English muffin with a Hollandaise sauce and a side of potatoes. I ordered a fruit salad instead of the potatoes for a healthier option. Service was fast- food on the other hand was very disappointing- both presentation wise and to the palate. Firstly the Hollandaise sauce was way too runny and I could also taste the vinegar from the poached eggs which curded the Hollandaise sauce !!! And to make matters worse the fruits were marinated in a weird herbal sugared syrup. I was so turned off by my meal - I couldn't finish my meal before my flight. However, I would like to commend my waitress. When I brought this matter to her attention, she volunteered to give me a 10 % discount (her employee discount) which was very sweet. When she approached the chef, he didn't seem to care.. and said that's usually how eggs Benedict are made. I have brunch all over the city- this place wins the award for vinegared eggs!
