I gotta say that the ladies did a wonderful job, especially in the bathrooms and kitchen! The first thing my husband said when he came home from work was "WOW!" They were very friendly and knew exactly what to clean when they walked in. I just sat back and relaxed for once! I'll definitely be back for sure because THIS IS THE LIFE. I don't wanna clean another dang toilet ever again. THANK YOU Smiles Are Maid!!

Sadly, I have to downgrade my review after my last experience…read more After the first time, in which I had a deep cleaning of almost my whole condo (minus the basement & 2 bedrooms), I only wanted the den, kitchen, half bath and master bedroom cleaned. This was about half of what I had done previously. I wrote to Smiles Are Maid several times and asked for an estimate, but I didn't get a response. Finally, I just downgraded the size of my home, and when the appointment reminder came, it showed a reasonable price. Amber came on time, and she said there was a change in the work order, which I confirmed with her -- and explained again which areas I wanted cleaned. She started upstairs, and when she was ready to clean the downstairs, I went upstairs. After a while, I realized that I hadn't heard any noise, and I went downstairs to see she'd left, without saying anything. She still did a good job, so I don't have any complaints with her work. However, I was then charged another $84.00 after the cleaning. (They'd charged me more after the first time as well, but I didn't mind that as much, as Amber was there for 10 hours.) I wrote to them several times to ask why I was charged more. When I didn't get a response, I told them that if I didn't hear from them within 48 hours, I was going to take it up with my credit card company. I then heard back immediately. They said that the estimate was based on a one bedroom unit, and that my house was bigger than that. I said yes, it is, but I only asked for cleaning of the areas mentioned, that I'd asked in advance for a quote AND that I'd discussed it with Amber before she started. They did credit my card for the extra charge -- and they cancelled my upcoming service. Again, I asked why they cancelled, told them that wasn't my intention and that I just wanted to be charged fairly for the work that was done. I never heard back from them. So, my final rating: 5 stars for cleaning, 0 stars for communication and trying to keep the customer satisfied.

Discussing window cleaning - didn't know what storm windows were, then just dropped chat -- next day returned and said they "fell asleep" while they were discussing my job. No apology. On Yelp, they didn't even respond to a written request for a bid. Not very professional. They'd have to do something really amazing now to make me trust their work/work ethic.

They stood me up twice and never actually came to clean my home…read more I planned ahead for my home to be cleaned days before an event. They lost my info and lied about it, so they ended up with only partial information. Then they missed my appointment with no advance notice, and never offered an apology or solution. However, they did beg and plead for me to give them another chance and offered bigger and bigger discounts. I gave them a second chance, but they stood me up again. They again begged for my patronage, but in the end they left me hanging for days for a response. Finally they told me they couldn't meet my deadline and that I should use another company. Their "200% satisfaction guaranteed" slogan is unclear in its application. I was not satisfied, and they told me to go elsewhere. TIP 1 of 2: Their appointments are a half hour, regardless of the tasks, and they intentionally allow their employees to be up to a half hour early or late to appointments (per fine print on website). Evidently, there's no extra charge if it takes longer than a half hour or even if it requires a second trip to your home. That's a positive if you have a big mess and a lot of free time! Conversely, your appointment may run way over time or may be skipped completely and without notice. TIP 2 of 2: If you have a deadline or important need for cleaning, use another company. If not, be prepared to spend a lot of time rescheduling and waiting for them, but also request discounts (in writing!) if/when they do mess up.
