Sadly, I have to downgrade my review after my last experience. After the first time, in which I had a deep cleaning of almost my whole condo (minus the basement & 2 bedrooms), I only wanted the den, kitchen, half bath and master bedroom cleaned. This was about half of what I had done previously. I wrote to Smiles Are Maid several times and asked for an estimate, but I didn't get a response. Finally, I just downgraded the size of my home, and when the appointment reminder came, it showed a reasonable price. Amber came on time, and she said there was a change in the work order, which I confirmed with her -- and explained again which areas I wanted cleaned. She started upstairs, and when she was ready to clean the downstairs, I went upstairs. After a while, I realized that I hadn't heard any noise, and I went downstairs to see she'd left, without saying anything. She still did a good job, so I don't have any complaints with her work. However, I was then charged another $84.00 after the cleaning. (They'd charged me more after the first time as well, but I didn't mind that as much, as Amber was there for 10 hours.) I wrote to them several times to ask why I was charged more. When I didn't get a response, I told them that if I didn't hear from them within 48 hours, I was going to take it up with my credit card company. I then heard back immediately. They said that the estimate was based on a one bedroom unit, and that my house was bigger than that. I said yes, it is, but I only asked for cleaning of the areas mentioned, that I'd asked in advance for a quote AND that I'd discussed it with Amber before she started. They did credit my card for the extra charge -- and they cancelled my upcoming service. Again, I asked why they cancelled, told them that wasn't my intention and that I just wanted to be charged fairly for the work that was done. I never heard back from them. So, my final rating: 5 stars for cleaning, 0 stars for communication and trying to keep the customer satisfied. read more

Switched maid services after 3 years. We had Smiles are Maid come out once and they did a great job. Problem is they can't get here on time. Second visit again wasn't on time. Apparently my time isn't worth anything as I sit and wait for their arrival. Never made fun of the cleaners cars. Geez what is wrong with you. Only stated that when a car leaks oil and gas they should park in the street. Your 2nd cleaner wanted me to handle her road service. I asked her if she had AAA. I shouldn't have to use my AAA for your employees. As for pictures of me laughing at your employee. Please post them. Quite honestly I didn't even know where her car broke down. So I would love to see the proof. Be very careful Tabatha you're close to slander. Any further posts of incorrect information will be dealt with accordingly. Can't recommend this business. RE: When you have a window of 9-11 you don't show up at 11, when you have a window of 8-9, you don't show up at 9:20. First visit of the day should be an easy appt to keep. Roads have been dry for 7 months now. No weather delays, I would suggest you tell your maids that when their appt is between 8-9 don't leave the house at 8:45. Your 2 hour comment is out of line when I have proof of email and texts that say the 8-9 arrival. Your company is highly unprofessional when it come to customers valuable time. read more

The cleaning itself was okay. I specifically asked about carpet cleaning and it doesn't appear to have been done. They also broke my closet door and then stopped answering me after saying they were going to look into the incident. I still paid, wasn't looking for a refund (businesses have to make their money) I just wanted answers. I've used this company twice in the past two months. I paid for a deep clean with pet hair both times. I was very, very happy with Kelli and her associate on the initial clean in November - detail-oriented and thorough. I was so happy that I requested Kelli for my follow-up deep clean + pet hair. She brought her own vacuum. I was pretty ecstatic that I found such a great a regular cleaner! I received a text from Tabitha the night before my scheduled clean letting me know that Kelli is unavailable, but there's another available team who is "just as good." Sure, that's fine. The second cleaner showed up on time, which is great. Very polite. She then announced that she was almost finished cleaning and asked for my feedback. When I asked if any of the carpeted rooms had been vacuumed, she told me she forgot her vacuum. Thankfully, I did have a vacuum available for her to use, and she vacuumed the carpets just fine after that. Overall, the impression of the company really varies by which cleaner is assigned to you. I gave it an OK review overall because one cleaner went above and beyond, and the second cleaner forgot her vacuum.. to a (deep) cleaning job. *Update* Tabitha reached out to me for an update on how my clean went. She was very reasonable and understanding. She offered to adjust the price of the cleaning job and provided a solution so that I might be able to use Kelli as a cleaner in the future. A few out of town guests were staying over my house for a while so I had a deep cleaning done on my home to prepare for their arrival. I really like this cleaning company. I've had some pretty interesting experiences with bigger name/brand cleaning providers, but never this one. I really like that I can handle everything online, it's perfect for me because I keep odd hours. You get your own online account created for your booking needs and payments are all handled online as well. You can pick and choose what you need by just going to their site. Everything is pretty much plug and play and you get your price, so I really appreciated that I didn't have to take a day off for an in-home estimate. I think the prices are affordable but I also know that I'm someone who values cleaning and I understand that you get what you pay for when you shop for the cheapest option out there. Kelli and team did a great job. I hired them to do a move in cleaning for our new home. They arrived on time even though it was snowing heavily and got right to work. They did such a good job and it was such a good price (about 60% of the quote I got from Merry Maids) that I decided to hire them to clean the house I moved out of too, although I originally was planning just doing that myself. My best friend recommended this company and more specially Sheena. I've been very pleased. Sheena is very thorough. Even old school cleans the floors on her hands and knees! It might take a bit longer but she's never in the way or disrupting. She's been great during COVID, wearing a mask and doing extra sanitizing of commonly touched areas. I've never used a cleaning service before, but I needed help for a small gathering for my son's baptism in early December. It's already exhausting having a 3 month old & working full time plus I hate cleaning bathtubs & mirrors. The Cleaning Pro that was scheduled to come, was running a slight temperature that day, so Tabitha rescheduled. Which I was grateful given the times we live. However at the end of that rescheduled time slot, which was the morning before the event, no one showed. Tabitha was right on it, but the Cleaner was unresponsive. Tabitha was able to have someone come to the house that evening since I was a little panicked that I would end up to do the cleaning, free of charge. Jess was like an angel even in her mask. She utilized all of her time effectively & even vacuumed & mopped the floors. She was so good with my 2 curious dogs & cat. Its like they had these little magic elves that did not judge me for being a sloppy bachelor, and showed up when I was not home to wave their wand and restore order in my kingdom. However, having moved away since then, I was heartbroken to find out that they did not service the area I moved to. The response to my original review was completely disgraceful and contained several misrepresentations of fact. This company is dishonest at every turn and should NEVER be considered for a cleaning because they simply do not clean and will cuss at you and then lie about it (she said the F word and S word to me about how bad the first cleaner did, she said they usually don't do such a shitty fucking job, then said sorry for swearing, and then apparently lied about it). AND they flat out refuse to clean whatever they don't want to clean and say you specifically asked them to clean something and they didn't (which doesn't make you look any better by the way lol). I also didn't indicate that I *might need* a deep cleaning, that was the service that was booked. There is no buildup of pet hair that takes 4 to 5 hours to clean lol that makes no sense, takes 5 seconds to sweep up and that's maybe the dumbest I've ever read in response to someone not doing their job cleaning a space. I hope the community learns not to trust such a horribly disgraceful company such as yours. The deep cleaning needed was for a move in so whatever you post unlawfully will not really matter as far as showing that the service was still not completed. It shouldn't even be part of the response to say that it was still not clean because of how unclean it was to begin with... You're a cleaning service it was a deep clean that was booked NOT ***might need a deep cleaniong*** as you wrongfully claimed just like about everything else in your response. I don't want to give them one star because it wasn't a horrible experience or anything. "Could've been better" basically nails it. First of all, the woman was an hour late. That was fine, though, because I was working from home. She was nice, got right to work, and did a decent job. The bathroom and kitchen were pretty great. But I paid extra for a "deep clean" and "pet hair" and I feel like she could have been a lot more thorough. For instance, she didn't dust anything, and didn't move anything aside to vacuum or sweep. She vacuumed upstairs but didn't vacuum the stairs. Perfect example is we have this little plastic box where we keep the dog toys. Very easy to move, right in the corner of the living room. Right after she left I went and moved it and there was a bunch of dog hair behind it. Not a horrible experience over all, but considering I paid an extra $70 (which is a lot to me) for pet hair and deep clean, I would expect a little more for my money. Next time I'll probably look for a different service that's either less expense or more thorough (or both). read more

We've had two different cleaning pros so far and they both listened to our preferences and did a really good job cleaning. My cleaner really hooks my apartment up! I literally just let her know my preferences and she always does her best to make sure they happen. I had a cleaning company before but Smiles Are Maid Cleaning Agency just seems more personal to me.
