We had the Caramelized Chicken Lombardi served with green beans and mixed vegetables. The balsamic that the chicken was cooked was excellent! The other plate we had was the Eggplant Parmigiana. Served with pasta, and do good. We had a "dip" appetizer with the fresh homemade bread before our meal. This is a must!!! So flavorful! Our waitress was so helpful and gave us her opinions on different foods. The meal was delivered very fast, but served fresh and hot. The restaurant is a repurposed old building and has so much character!! We will definitely be back, soon! The next time I will save room for the homemade coconut pie!! Onion rings are one of the hub's favorites so off we went. The restaurant is located inside an old railroad warehouse and it has a very rustic atmosphere. You can feel the history ooze from the building's pores as you slide into your seat and get ready to take in the nice sized menu selections. I had a few items picked out from different sections and Zyra our waitress helped me make the best choice. We started out with the onion rings with ranch dressing and we DEVOURED THEM! We both chose the blackened catfish and were both very pleased. The fillets were perfectly cooked with nice seasoning and topped with pico de gallo. The pico added some much welcome acidity and zestiness to the dish. I ordered the pinto beans and crispy new potatoes and they were all superb. We enjoy stopping in Nacogdoches and soaking up the history and great food that the oldest town in Texas has to offer! We will definitely return to Clear Springs. There are way too many items on that menu that I need to enjoy!

I also…read moredidn't realize it was a chain restaurant but decided to hop in for a quick meal to break up a long drive. Its a casual restaurant with soups, salads, bread, and wraps. It gives like old school restaurant, panera meets souplantation (but not a buffet) vibes. You order at the counter, either with a person or the kiosks and there's tons of customization options. I ended up going with a soup and salad combo and got a half lobster/crab bisque along with a half shrimp avocado salad. Prices were decent, less than $15 for my meal (there were upcharges for some items). I enjoyed my meal and found it pretty filling. The soup was nice and warm and had a pretty good seafood flavor. The salad was fresh and was nicely dressed. I was pleasantly surprised by Newk's and glad we stopped in. It's nothing mind blowing but definitely hit the spot on a long, rainy drive. I can see myself returning on a future roadtrip!
