I came in at 8Am like I was told to and didn't even start my hair until 10:30 Am. They manhandle your natural hair. They are so rude. They speak some sort of West/Central African French and talk so much crap about you while braiding your hair, especially if you have the gall to complain. There is an air of intimidation and bullying in the this salon as all the ladies will look at you and eye you when you tell them that the braided is doing something wrong. They braid too tight, the parts are irregular, and the braid sizes are also irregular. I love African braiding shops as they sometimes do a good job but this shop should be avoided. I watched as they did twists on someone's hair and once the person pointed out that it wasn't done well, they literally started shouting at her. Their only saving grace is how they're pretty much willing to take you at anytime.

Then two of my braids fell out one in the shower and one in bed when I tied my hair up. I've started looking at other shops because I want a hair style that will hold up in the shower or when I tie it up at night. I will be bringing my own hair oil so it won't make my hair itchy and irritated. They have pics of different braid styles but no price on them or a book of photos with priced for customers to look through. It's an OK shop but going to look elsewhere in my next run with getting hair braided.

I booked an appointment for box braids online (medium length) The price was 170.00. When I got there I waited 45 mins for service. When I sat in the chair for the woman to braid my hair, she asked me what style I wanted. I explained to her that when I made the appointment online, I wanted box braids, medium length for 170.00. The woman then quoted me a different price! I didn't agree so she started to argue with me. She then tells me to go to Google image and pick a style for the higher price. I pick two to three styles and she's quoting me 250.00! Finally, after ten mins. of going back and forth we finally agreed on a box braids style for 180.00. This is how they get you! I was told I had to pay the 180.00 first before she would begin braiding. I zelle'd her the money. She then starts commincating with her colleagues in a different language after I gave her the money. The tone of her voice was very judgemental. She starts eating food while braiding my hair. In addition when she's done, she didn't give me box braids! She gave me regular extensions. I came here for years. My hair was challenging to deal with for different reasons on my last visit here than on my first (overwhelming hair progressing to hair thinning in tricky areas). The skill levels vary among the staff here, and those who weren't up to the task never got greedy. There have even been temps here who handled my hair quite well, and were very knowledgeable. Granted, I never had my hair dyed here, nor have I had a special hair style done for an event. However, if someone will make mistakes on your hair, it better be someone with at least basic training. The mistakes made by someone with no training (like from several in the place I mentioned above) will lower your quality of life outside your home.
