My cruise ship had Manila as a port of call so I was trying to figure out what we would do, since we'd already visited Manila and didn't want to sightsee again. Luckily my friends have a condo in BCG and picked us up for a visit. What a great location! They're American retirees who had normal jobs but were able to purchase a condo in this highrise, which is centrally located. They asked what we wanted to do and we said we wanted to get some Filipino food. I thought we'd end up in some dirty shack in the barrios which is what we usually do when we visit relatives in t he Philippines. Instead, they took us to the lobby, we made our way to the basement, and took the underground path to Uptown Mall. They've got a Bristol Farms/Gelson's type supermarket called "The Marketplace" and a lot of bougie stores where the well to do shop. You'll find a Starbucks, Buffalo Wild Wings, Ace Hardware, and all the other franchises from home, as well as local favorites, all done up in Christmas lights (we went during the 'bers). If you can manage to move to a place like this, you've made it, and I'm so proud my friends did. The building is surrounded by global companies and this is where they've placed their call centers, so all the restaurants in the neighborhood is clean and foot traffic is safe, so this is definitely a fun place to relax if you want to feel like you're back at home and you love mall culture.

When In the Philippines, and you are in BGC... come check out Uptown Mall is a lot smaller compared to SM Aura. More high end stores ... ample eating food choices... love the rooftop area. Nice cool breeze as it gets closer to the night fall. So many options to eat if you want dine in, and plenty of photo opt locations. The dancing water fountains is a cool gem of the mall. The lower level below the food court is where you can bring the kids to play in the kids zone area, there is also a cool board game area right across. Video arcades , toy stores and the movie theater. There is an obnoxious smell of butter on this level. Which is almost nauseating. Thank goodness you can't smell it while watching a movie. Their theaters and restrooms are fairly clean and I love how organized they are when letting the patrons in the movies. The Philippines just does it the BEST when it comes to their malls. It's so much better in the Philippines for food, and shopping!

This is the second proper upscale mall in Bonifacio Global City(BGC), the first being SM Aura Premiere. This mall will serve future residents of the Uptown or northern district of (BGC) defined by anything that across 32nd street from Bonifacio High Street (BHS). 5 Levels of entertainment, shopping, and dining. The exterior of the mall facing the 36th street corner 9th avenue feature a fountain display with nice colourful lighting. Most dining outlets will be located here as the open setup keeps them open to the public beyond mall hours and is nice for those who enjoy terrace dining which most restaurants can offer with the adequate hall way width. The Lower Ground (B1 on elevator) is where you'll find your necessities; Rustan's Supermarket for groceries, National Book Store for school and office supplies, Bruno's Barbers for some needed hair styling, and a couple of fast food joints for some quick bites. The Upper Ground (1 on elevator) is where you'll find most of the usual fast fashion shops and popular local brands. They also have a simple raised platform that utilises its edge as a bench when not in use. The 2nd level is the same as the first floor. A mix of lifestyle and electronics. The 3rd level the entertainment floor where you'll find their cinemas and VIP cinemas (offer unlimited popcorn and drink via butler) The Toys R Us for the kids and a mix of tenants. The 4th level is still partially opened, but certainly going to be all dining. It competes with SM Aura's Sky Garden and hopefully less crowded. Overall this mall is looking great with its curvy design and simple layout that's easily understandable. This is just one of the 3 malls that are nearing completion and the various commercial spaces on every possible building.

Really nice mall! no stores yet but I can already imagine the potential. Uptown place right now is my favorite mall because I am not fond of the crowds. If you like the feeling where you own your own private store this is the place for you I shopped in a few stores completely alone I watched a movie with my wife and we were the only ones in the theater we actually shows up late and they started the movie when we arrived! Talk about personal service! For now this is a good place for those of you who like peace and quiet. There's a few unique restaurants here as well that you don't see else where. So if you're looking for a quiet meal this is the place. I recommend going to the VIP cinema.

The place feels intimate compared to the massive malls everywhere else--more curated, less chaotic. I wandered through the high-end shops (that tourbillon watch boutique is insane), grabbed an amazing flat white at Yardstick, then had the best kinilaw and sisig at Toyo Eatery upstairs. The whole vibe is relaxed yet polished, and the Christmas lights this year are stunning without being over-the-top. Felt like a nice treat after a long week. Definitely five stars for me.

It even has a Roman Catholic chapel called the Chapel of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. I was interested in visiting this venue because, as the name suggests, this structure was once (literally) a power plant. After the power plant was decommissioned, the structure and land were reimagined. It should be seen as part of a master planned development. It also caters to some adjacent, legacy, high-end communities. This location provided an opportunity for me to people watch; examine products and brands unfamiliar to me; and to price compare goods in the PHL, versus back home. And there seems to be more "exclusive" retailers I didn't see at other shopping centers in Makati.

When Central Square Mall was open for watching movies, my girlfriend and I decided to go watch a movie on a whim. When we got there, we got surprised that the cost of a ticket is almost double the cost of a standard one elsewhere - only to find out it's because of the 4D experience they offer (and super comfy lazy boy seating). We pretended to wait for our friends to confirm before purchasing tickets, because they were really out of our budget at the time (and we weren't going to waste 4D on a comedy film). I also hear that you can get your food delivered to you while you're inside the movie theater! Central Square has some pretty good restaurants on the top floor, especially Va Bene and Mad Mark's. My personal favorite snack, Jamaican Patties, has a kiosk present, which makes me very happy. There's also a small Family Mart on the top floor, which has a few tables and chairs for patrons to eat before or after watching the movie. The stores available here are pretty standard and also pretty high end. I'd still rather shop around the stores along High Street, mainly because of the price and the availability. Regardless, they have a variety of stores that will cater to your every (luxury) need.

Inside the mall, it felt clean and modern and the elevator has a pretty handy poster of where each store is and what floor something is at. The mall reaches to up 5 floors and there's a rooftop lounge too. You can't see the view outside the building openly, but there are cool spots to go to for the vibes. Elevator wait was long because a couple of elevators were out of order. Checked out the Coco cafe at the first floor and the bakery. Vendors in the middle of the mall too. Did an escape room. Products are either locally made items to luxury brands from all around the world. From perfumes, cologne, shampoos, conditioners, body lotions. It was a little hard for me to sample something then move on to the next fragrance counter as there is so much to see all around the mall. What was most important is that the Foreign Exchange Counter was found on the Men's Floor of the department store. It was operated by BDO Bank and they offered a very competitive exchange rate. Also In the basement of the mall, you'll find SM Supermarket. They will have all your household items, snacks, food items, anything you forgot to pack for your trip such as toiletries.
