Seriously, where else can you get authentic Thai food for less than a hundred pesos? Sen Lek Thai in the foodcourt is one of the best Thai places I've tried. If you're more into Korean food, Arisoo is a restaurant towards the back that I was also able. My favorite though is the cold taho at one of the Japanese groceries here, I forget the name. It's basically cold taho with toppings of your choice, for around fifty pesos for a big bowl. It's my secret pick me up. Don't tell anyone, okay?

I consider Cartimar Market to be one of the more underrated places in the metro. A lot of people…read moreknow about the pet center here, which is also what drew me to the place in the first place, but once you go past that, you'll see that it has a whole lot more to offer. It's not a market in the usual sense. I haven't seen any wet produce like meat or fish, though I'm sure there's an area in there somewhere. What I have seen are stores selling clothing - mostly overruns or surpluses of major brands, stores selling shoes, stores selling appliances, and stores selling miscellaneous items like mason jars and the like. You also have, of course, the pet center, and the SM supermarket. The best part, I think, are the foreign groceries where you can get Japanese or Korean ingredients dirt-cheap.

As my pictures show there are several choices of food in this area. But none really jumped out at me. I chose to have the grilled marlin in spicy sauce with vegetables and rice. The fish is pregrilled and sitting out there. When ordered, they reheat the fish and pour the sauce over it. Their vegetables is from a frozen mixed vegetable bag. The dish was non appetizing and had a bland taste. Problem here is that the food here lacks freshness, flavor and taste.

It's as if they couldn't care less about their customers, especially the younger ones. I'm 16, and apparently, that means I'm not allowed in the mall without a guardian--on a weekend! How many times do people have to complain about the unprofessional behavior of the guards before something changes? The security staff act like they're on a power trip, treating teenagers like criminals just for showing up. News flash: we're not asking for much--just basic respect and fair treatment. It's 2024, and this mall still hasn't figured out how to treat its customers properly. If management can't be bothered to fix their security issues despite countless complaints, maybe they should rethink if they even deserve their customers at all

What I like about this place is that it doesn't get very crowded and you don't get ripped off with the price. You do need to haggle a little, but it's not like other places where they can charge you way more than the "actual" price. So it ends up being a enjoyable place to buy things such as plants, pets, clothes, shoes, kitchenware and many more. I am not too much into fake shoes and clothes but when guests come and are looking to buy some, I bring them here because they don't over charge compare to other places such as Greenhills. This is also my favorite place to buy plants. They have a few stores with lots of variety to choose from. And the people are very helpful when you need advice on plants and how to take care of them. For pet lovers, this is the place to go too! Their pet section is huge and clean! I would definitely recommend this place if you want to go somewhere not too crowded and friendly. Oh and my happy and healthy fighting fish only cost 50 pesos (without negotiating at all!) He's one happy fishy after arriving in his new home and taken out from his plastic glass...

They also offer frozen Chinese ulam and groceries. In addition to these, they have a small snack area to the side and this is where I discovered the best wintermelon tea ever. It has no sugar, but it's sweet and pleasant to taste. I heard that it's made from real wintermelon and not artificial flavorings. Combine this with black pearls and it's better than any milk tea ever! I think it's not always available so if you chance upon their shop and they have it, it is a must try. I also discovered that they have the best taho ever. They don't have hot taho unfortunately, but the cold one is still very good anyway - better than good, it's super delicious! They have different toppings to choose from such as red bean paste or lotus. A lot of people like lotus the best but personally I stick with my black pearl addiction. They are not created equal. Same is true with the black sugar syrup. Nope. Not the same. This one is magical.

I remember that entering there was like a baptism, a début. I could almost hear the voice over: "Welcome, Danyella! This is the one and only Landmark! Here you'll find EVERYTHING you may need from now on. And for a cheaper price!". Did I say EVERYTHING? Yes, because that's exactly the feeling you have when you enter the Landmark. I just cannot decide where to look at. All products catch my attention. It's crazy. I'll give you a short list of what I already bought there, so you can feel the vibe: a Hello Kitty towel as a monito monita gift; a beautiful tea pot; maternity clothes; comfortable shoes; baby onesies; underwear; step ladders to reach high shelves; cute notebooks; toiletries; Instax instant film; scarfs; bags; a wallet; table linens and much more items. Oh, and I can't forget to mention the grocery. It's cheaper than Rustan's and even SM and you can find great variety. TIP: They sell Santis's meats and cold cuts at Landmark! I highly recommend it because of the quality. It's great to have this facility, so I don't have to split my grocery list anymore and go to Santis Deli at Rockwell.

And then there's the tin-can containers reminiscent of the things we used in the 80s as kids but the design is more English rose country and shabby chic. Still some of the home decor items are of prints and typography that would fit any room occupied by a hipster. Not that I'm a hipster, lol. But they are soooo cute!
