SM Food Store - Unfair Treatment of Customers
I strongly advise against shopping at this store. During a recent visit, I placed a bottle of olive oil on the cashier's counter for checkout. After setting it down, I turned to retrieve additional items from my cart. Moments later, the bottle fell from the cashier's area and broke.
To be clear: I had already released the item and turned away. Whether the cashier accidentally knocked it over, I cannot say. However, the important fact is that I did not drop the bottle.
The cashier herself even told the manager that it was not my fault. Despite this, the manager insisted that I pay for the broken bottle. I was shocked by this response. Instead of showing fairness and understanding, the store placed the burden on me, the customer--ignoring both logic and the cashier's own statement.
This experience left me feeling disrespected and unfairly treated. Accidents happen, but customers should not be held financially responsible for something beyond their control. Because of this, I will not return to this store, nor can I recommend it to others.
There are many other places to shop that value honesty, fairness, and customer loyalty. Unfortunately, this SM Food Store has shown they do not. read more
