This was my first experience with this store. I took a pair of shoes that are listed for $180 on Amazon to sell. They offered me $17. No thanks. I understand they can pay retail price but that was a bit ridiculous. Also, the shoes were brand new. I only recommend this place if you don't mind getting ripped off. read more

Gorgeous inventory, with an enormous selection of different styles from vintage, to designer, and casual to eccentric b. And a shopping experience so good, it might just cure your closet trauma. If I hadn't been told, I would've never guessed Uptown Cheapskate was a second-hand store. Their inventory looks better than half the boutiques and department stores I've been to. The amount of clothing is insane, the diversity in style is unmatched, and they actually have great men's fashion too -- not just a sad corner with three plaid shirts and a tie from 2009. And they have a size range from XXS to XXL and bigger, so nobody gets left behind. Everything from workout clothes to business casual, pajamas that keep you warm and pajamas that make you warm. ;) dresses that are long dresses that are short dresses that are sheer dresses that are modest. Skinny jeans, bell bottom, athletic pants, sweatpants,tights that sparkle, to baggy boho pants. With shorts, skirts and short skirts, there's always something to cover your legs. and for accessories From top to bottom and everything in between they got it covered. Hats, socks , purses and sunglass but don't walk away without checking out the shoe selection. the shoes in the men's depart have better soles than most of the people I know. I'm an outfit shopper, not a rack hopper. So I'm always looking for something very particular instead of just browsing and buying it cause I like it. I have to know it's going to be used and for what, so I buy whole outfits at a time or i am there looking for something to add to an outfit or finish one off. And everyone knows that when you need it to be exact, it won't exist . Most stores make that hunt miserable. But Uptown? Their presentation and organizing system are so next-level it's basically GPS for clothes. If a "medium, velvet, waist-length mustard button-up with white lace trim, and a soft rounded eyelet collar existed, I'm confident I could march straight to it. To be honest , the price range is higher than the other second hand stores. it Can be a bummer to find a pair of pants that are three dollars cheaper across the street. but the the selection the inventory and not to mention amazing customer service makes every dime worth it. If you're not fashion savvy, there are plenty of employees who are willing to help you put together a few awesome outfits. How rad is that! I almost forgot about the huge changing Rooms in the back so that you keep your privacy, but still be able to try on that outfit and have enough space to dance around and do the drop test. When it comes to secondhand shopping, I am ALWAYS recommending Uptown Cheapskate! The best way I can describe it is as a more modern Plato's Closet with better inventory, and it's insane to me that it's not more popular. They have a good selection of nicer brand names (even some lightly used high-end brands) and most of it is all in decent quality for thrifting. The store is organized and it's rare that I don't come here and find a handful of items to leave with. Definitely disappointing to read some of the other reviews with negative customer service experiences, but I myself have never experienced that! The staff is usually attentive, helpful, and I've often found myself exchanging what seems like genuine compliments. When it comes to selling clothes to them - go in with low expectations. Similar to Plato's closet, they're pretty specific about what they accept and will low ball you every time regardless of the item you're selling. I usually only go in with clothes I would donate anyway to make a quick 20 or 30 dollars, which I'm totally okay with! The only thing I'd go out of my way to mention is that hitting different locations is important! Obviously their stock is based off what the local demographic is selling, so I've noticed that the Edmond and OKC locations usually have trendier items than the Midwest City one, but you can still find gems no matter what. If you're into sustainable shopping, definitely give it a try. read more

Just got finished shopping at their Edmond location on Bryant and Penn. Today they are having their annual $1-$2 sale and oh my goodness, it was a dream. I bought 7 pieces, 2 of them being pretty little thing dresses, 1 being a dressy Zara top and an Arizona Sherpa all for $27!! The employees were so sweet and enthusiastic, it was busy but I had so much fun shopping in there today. Definitely an upscale thrift store, so worth checking out! Love! read more

I appreciate the wide variety of gently used clothing along with newer items. I enjoy up cycling clothing to increase the sustainability of the world of textiles & fashion (fast fashion is super wasteful). Anywho, I would have found my experience to be far more enjoyable without the snobby disposition of the young lady I asked to help me get a shirt displayed in the window. Yes, I'm sure she thought nothing of how she went about the interaction --but that's precisely how microaggressions work. She asked which shirt I was referring to. I began describing the shirt, "... it's the sheer lilac blouse." She replied, "Oh, that's not sheer. It is shiny, though. Maybe you mean shiny.... It starts with a 's-h'" No, miss.... I meant sheer which was accurately the material of the blouse. The shirt is not opaque which the opposite of sheer. Now, I know many only refer to the denier of thin fabrics when addressing mesh materials or tights but still, if you choose to be snarky and adamant about being correct -- at least be correct. Because it came across very poorly not just because she was wrong but she confidently corrected me as if she assumed authority to be correct. It was unnecessary and annoying. To be clear, I don't expect retail workers to have an extensive knowledge of fabrics & sewing terminology. But stop trying to "educate" customers especially when you obviously don't know what you're talking about. I would've said something directly to her but I just wanted to quickly check out and never return. Maybe I'll try one of your other locations and have a more pleasurable experience. read more

I went in today with the intention of buying some nice, cheap clothes, that my husband could rip off of me at the end of a long, hard day. When I got here, I was unpleasantly surprised that the so called "semi-annual sale", only applied to CLEARANCE items. This of course wouldn't be too crazy... IF THEY HAD A CLEARANCE SECTION!! I felt like a chicken with his head cutoff, just trying to find the one section I needed. But of course, nothing.
