I was NOT disappointed! Clothes Mentor understood the assignment. We want to dress like "that girl" but on a budget. From Easter dresses, to cowgirl boots, concert clothes, and game day wear, it's a large one-stop shop. Bring your friends, daughters or just yourself - there's something for everyone. Selection has gone from ages 18-senior to elderly women. Lululemon selection is non existent. Lots of older fashion clothes and not a lot of mall brand clothes. Use to be my favorite place to shop. For as picky as they are buying I'm disappointed to see stains and snags on the few things I did find. read more

I came to Clothes Mentor after Plato's Closet recommended that they may prefer my style more than Plato's did (hello, not so "trendy" mid-30s!). This store sells only women's clothing- no teens, juniors, mens, etc. The process was super simple- I dropped off my items (2 container limit) with the front desk, gave them my ID so they could put my info in their system, and waited for them to process my items. The wait time was about 30 minutes, so I browsed the store then ran a quick errand before returning for my purchase. The store had a great selection of work, formal, athletic, and business casual wear. Most of the items were brand new or like new. The store had their buying policy posted, which stated that items with stains, odors, pet hair, or overly worn would not be accepted. The prices were great- I found a brand new pair of Antonio Melani ballet flats for $20, which retail for about $90. I was able to have the register hold them until the items I was selling were processed. Once finished, I was able to use the proceeds from selling toward my purchase. The items I brought to sell were mostly work wear I had purchased at Dillard's, Macy's, and Nordstrom Rack. Most of these items were passed over; they purchased a few pieces of athletic wear and said they would have considered several other pieces but their stock was full of those styles at the time. Overall, this was a great, no-hassle experience for both buying and selling. I would highly recommend for anyone to stop here before taking your clothes to the donation center, or if you're looking for a good deal on nicer clothing. read more

This is a women's fashion resale thingy what has a focus on brand name items. Like practically everything in Edmond it's located in yes, a strip mall with unlimited parking. I know that that's a given in Oklahoma, but I'm from the bay area and it's still a novelty to me. This store is larger then most resale/consignment stores and thus has a fairly extensive selection. It's logically organized by style, type and more then anything by size. Thus all the size 8 shoes will be in the same area. Jeans will all be in the jean area, tops etc. Given the size of the place they typically will have quite the range of styles and sizes. It is unlikely (but certainly within the realm of possibility) that you will be unable to find anything in your size whatever it may be. As they have a strong focus on brand name items there are some total bargains to be had here. Upon occasion it's possible to get stuff like Burberry at something like 50 percent off. That is always a satisfying find when that happens. There is a bargain rack in the back near the dressing rooms, but buyer beware make sure you like the look and fit as clearance items are non returnable. If you are selling they may or may not buy your items, not because they are not marketable, but because they may have too much of a certain style/size/brand. A casual non buying reconnaissance will take fifteen to thirty minutes, but for the most part expect to spend an hour to an hour and a half here. There is a small bench for spouses to wait on, but I do note that there is a really nice coffee shop right close by. You know just in case. Overall this is an excellent spot for the budget fashionista or anyone just needing a few things to make up a new look. read more

My adult daughter and I went through her closet for hours. Folded the clothes neatly and took them in to be considered. The staff and Manager are rude and gave us a false time when they would be done. So after waiting two hours we asked if we needed to stay in the area or come back the next day. They didn't have but two customers in the store and had one person in front of us going through two small boxes, said to come back in a hour. So after waiting three hours, we came back, they chose two items out of two large IKEA bags full and offered her $3.00. Ladies do not waist your time here. I promise my daughters clothes are in style and clean. Not worth the headache. Go somewhere else! read more

The friendliness of the red haired girl working and another very bubbly girl is enough to make you want to come back in itself. They are very attentive and helpful. I've brought clothes here and I've been a buyer. As far as their prices go sometimes i can find the item on sale for just as cheap if not cheaper in store. Although their selection i have to give credit to as its always new and it seems they have a good turnover of items old stuff doesn't linger which is good. As Far as selling items go, you don't get near the amount you would if you were to sell them online or on a local Facebook group. When they ask me if I want the price breakdown of the items they are buying, I always say no because I don't want to. know! Great store if you are buying. Not so great if you wish to sell. Purchased a super Dooney & Burke handbag a few weeks ago for less than $100...but store wanted $150 for a Coach WITHOUT THE STRAP. And there's no negotiating...the sticker price is their final offer...which is why that purse is still there 3 weeks later. I thought I'd give them a try and brought in several Dooney & Burke, Coach, and Kate Spade handbags. Several were passed on (understandable as they were older Coach styles) but total offered for 4 to 5 lightly used handbags was a little over $100. I was incredulous and left the store with all my items. If money is not an issue, absolutely bring your items here. If you care about resale value and not feeling like you're being taken advantage of, find somewhere else to conduct this type of business. read more

Some really great clothes here for adults and children ranging from Target brand clothes to high-end name brand items. All items are priced fairly. They also have a nice area of toys for children to play with and if your child cleans up after themselves, they get $5 towards their next purchase. read more

I'd heard of this place, but hadn't actually been until a few weeks ago. I was very presently surprised! I found two dresses and one top from my favorite designer who is almost never available in Oklahoma. I also found cute shoes and a skirt perfect for work. Their designer items are a steal. I got $200+ dresses for between $20 and $24! My skirt was a no brand work wear item and it was about $15. I could probably have picked up the same thing for $3.99 at a goodwill so I'd say it was over priced for something pre-owned and off brand, but I knew that and bought it anyway for the shopping convenience. I am a big thrifter and used to digging for treasurers, but it was nice for this store to take the effort out of that for me! I just looked at the sections marked with my size and quickly found things I liked. Their purse selection was decent, in high school I would have been all over the $80-$100 coach purses, but I've out grown that phase. The Kate Spade options were over priced, for an extra $20 there I could just buy new! Overall I'll be back soon for the designer clothes, but I'll stick to thrifting for my basics and just but my purses new. read more

Great for buying, not so great for selling. Every time I go shopping here I always leave with a ton of great items for a great price. However, when trying to sell it is often very frustrating. A lot of the time I see items being sold that aren't as nice as the stuff I am selling, yet they often pass over a lot of my items. I have found that it depends on whoever is buying that day. Take your "rejected" clothes home and try again another day, as someone else might buy them. Clean store, good prices, nice staff. But not so fun to sell to, so I'm not sure how to rate. read more

Some wonderful finds at this store, however, do not expect to sell much to them. I was encouraged because of the brands that they advertise however when taking these same brands to them, in great condition, they rarely buy. Took 2 1/2 hours for them to go through all the clothes I brought in to sell. Many still had tags on them, which they passed on. I was told they don't buy Juniors sizes-yet they had all sorts of size 0 clothes. Last time I checked size 0 was considered Juniors?! Why are these places always such a joke? OKC needs a Buffalo Exchange. I walked in with four pieces of clothing and one pair of shoes to see if I could sell. A girl promptly told me that if if I was there to sell I would need to drop off and come back since it was their "busy buying season." WHAT? I live near Midtown I am not dropping these clothes off just to possibly get ten dollars off of them and coming all the way back here to collect my winnings. Clothes Mentor- get it together. I love Clothes Mentor! I am used to having a great experience there with friendly workers and some of the best deals on great clothes. It's hard to find such trendy clothes at a low price in Edmond, but that's exactly what I've always found here. Unfortunately, there was one worker (a female with dark, curly hair) that was somewhat snippy and seemed to be burdened by having to assist me. I would like to note that this is an uncommon trait of the workers at the store, and I only bring this up so that maybe something might be said to improve other customers' experiences. I will never shop anywhere else! Salespeople are so nice and helpful; one time we were there well after closing time trying to find the perfect dress for a job interview and they were nothing but kind and accommodating, did not rush us at all! Like-new name brand clothes (Loft, Gap, Banana Republic, J Crew) for excellent prices. Great dress selection. Have also found great handbags, shoes, and jewelry. Basically completely updated my wardrobe for a couple hundred bucks. As for selling things to them, they are EXTREMELY picky but I'm okay with that because that's why the stuff they have is so great. Today (Friday, Aug. 22, 2014) at around 2:30-2:45 I went to this store to purchase a couple items (dress and a pair of shoes). There was only 1 lady ahead of me being checked out by one of the staff. The lady in front if me had nearly 20 items and I only had two. Despite the fact that there were 4 other staff persons at the counter (either doing inventory or processing items), none of which were helping customers, NO ONE acknowledged my presence or asked if I was ready to check out. The person checking out the lady in front of me made eye contact with me, smiled, and continued helping the lady ahead of me (which was fine). However, she prolonged checking out the lady and was showing her how to make a purse smaller, talking about the colors of the items, etc... I was very disappointed by the lack of customer service I received today. I ended up putting my items back and left the store; still not one staff person noticed or attempted to help. Please train your staff to first help the customer; NO EXCUSES. I previously shopped in this store once before, and the experience was much better. I am strongly contemplating never returning to this establishment if the staff and owner cannot do a better job of serving ALL customers. read more

I have the same experience as the other reviewers who wanted to sale items. I took in a basket full of current upscale designer items. All less than two years. Unfortunately I had gained weight and could not wear. Some with the original tags still attached. Most of the items were rejected as too old or not the current style. Of the three items that were accepted one dress had been worn and was over four years old. A necklace and a belt that were accepted were both more than four years old. All was in good condition. It is my opinion that an item accepted based on the likes of the person inspecting the articles and not on condition or whether the items are up to date. In the future I will donate to Good Will. Perhaps a person who is less fortunate can recognize quality and style. Certainly the young lady from the Clothes Mentor who checked my items could not tell old from new or recognize a current name brand. read more
