I was pleasantly surprised to learn about yet another sustainable fashion chain of stores with a unique twist to selling. Unlike Plato's Closet or Buffalo Exchange, Indy Clover takes a step beyond in gathering inventory from its consumers---in addition to the inventory it doesn't have to pay for, sellers can rent a booth in the store and add/price the inventory as they please. Indy takes a cut, and oftentimes it easily comes out of the profits sold by the seller from that week. It's definitely a cool concept, and since I learned about the store in Edmond, I decided to check it out for myself. The store itself is very clean and there was plenty in stock. A lot of other curious shoppers (all women) were browsing as well (I only saw one booth that had clothes for men, but anyone can sell it is not restricted to women). I'm definitely a fan and would probably rent out a booth if they were in Austin, just to try it out for myself. Currently, a location is opening in Las Vegas next month and there is only one location in Texas (Plano). I'm super excited to see how this brand expands and in general, how sustainable fashion is getting trendier with each passing day!

An employee was loudly looking for the owner of a Tesla because my dog was inside the car, even though Dog Mode was on, the AC was set to 70 degrees, and the temperature was clearly displayed on the screen. I immediately explained that the car was in Dog Mode and that my dog was completely safe. What bothered me most was that even after the situation was clarified, there was still no apology for the way it was handled publicly. I completely understand people caring about animal safety, but situations like this should be approached respectfully and after actually checking the circumstances first. Tesla Dog Mode exists specifically to keep pets safe and climate controlled while owners briefly go inside stores. Staff should be educated about this before publicly accusing customers.

They had no price tags, so I took them to the register and asked if someone could price them. I was told they could not be sold because there was nobody available who could price them. I explained that I didn't care what they were priced at--I would have gladly paid $5.99 each, or honestly even $10 each. I wasn't asking for a discount or trying to negotiate. I simply wanted to purchase merchandise that was already sitting on the sales floor. My son is autistic and absolutely loves numbers and Numberblocks, so I was genuinely excited to bring these home to him. I could already picture how happy he would be over these two little toys. Unfortunately, I had to put them back. I was then asked if I still wanted to purchase my other items. I declined because the Numberblocks were the thing I was most excited about. I understand having policies, but if an item is placed on the sales floor, customers should reasonably be able to purchase it. If something doesn't have a price, there should be a process or someone available to determine a reasonable price. I wasn't trying to get something for cheap. I was literally willing to pay whatever reasonable price they gave me. This wasn't really about the money or even the toys. It was about a simple purchase that could have made my kid incredibly happy, and there was no reason it couldn't have happened. I hope Goodwill will reconsider how situations like this are handled.
