On a short work trip for the weekend, this was at the top of my list of places to visit while I was in OKC. There was a great selection, and I found a beautiful 1970s patchwork skirt for only $20. Prices were reasonable, and there was a lot to look through. I enjoyed the exterior art work, seems like Google did a collaboration with OKC. Unfortunately, the customer service dampened the experience. Granny seemed unwilling to engage with me, which made the interaction feel unwelcoming. My attempts at conversation were immediately dismissed... Because of that, I wouldn't return, though I genuinely hope her week improves. read more

This is a super cool vintage shop in a fabulous location. I stopped by after lunch, and could have spent hours looking at everything. There was a local hanging out with the cashier just chatting, and it was cool to see. Prices are reasonable and just a bit higher than what you'd find hunting your own vintage pieces. But well worth it if you find something that strikes your fancy! I want to go back on a day I can spend more time browsing. read more

Found this LV bag at the thrift shop, it wasn't in excellent condition, but I liked it a lot anyways. I don't know much about handbags, but I paid a professional authenticator and was told it was a fake. So if you go here, don't buy anything expensive because they are all fakes. Sadly, there isn't anything special here. Just a bunch of overpriced thrift store items that are not well maintained and some workers with an attitude. I think that people in this region are easily impressed because there isn't really any competition. This is pretty much it. I had heard about this place from a few different people and thought I'd check it out for myself. It was a fairly anti-climactic experience. There were a few cool things here and there but nothing that could not be found at a traditional thrift store for about a third of the price. To give you an idea of what I mean, one of the girls I was with bought a windbreaker type jacket, this apron thing and a sweater and paid around 60 bucks. Most likely the reason for the high prices is that this place is more like an antiques consignment store, where sellers have individual booths or sections they rent out, but they are not actively working at their booths and the store employees are there running the place. I inquired about how one might go about consigning things there and got a really curt, kind of rude response. Apparently they aren't welcoming any new consignees! Speaking of unwelcoming, I noticed another reviewer who said they felt like the store employees were following them around to "keep an eye on them". This was our experience as well. For most of our visit we were the only ones shopping there and I was with three other people, two of those people being teenagers, so that could be a reason why I felt we were getting a lot of attention from employees. I understand keeping an eye out for shoplifters but even the friend I was with said something about this after we'd left. So it wasn't just me. I left wondering why I'd gotten such rave reviews of this place from people I know and I came to the conclusion that first off, maybe the people I know aren't as cheap as I am. I associate 2nd hand stuff with bargains and something has to be super unique or amazing for me to act outside of this mindset. Secondly, I would say that this place is pretty cool for an Oklahoma place. They don't have many stores like this in Oklahoma City, so yeah that makes it alright. But, if you were in Seattle or San Francisco or some other city, stores like this are all over the place. All in all I felt like the Bad Granny was just kinda meh. What a hidden gem! I love Bad Granny's. This thrift/vintage store is beyond amazing. This store sells anything from jewelry and clothes to board games and cutlery. Now that 80's styles are back in fashion, this is kind of a great place to find what you are looking for, overalls for example! The prices are decent and the place is just fun to walk around and get a good luck at everything. Bring a friend or a date here if you are bored and want to do something fun. A friend's daughter (who is truly into retro 80s gear) told me about this place and we sought it out this weekend when we were exploring the Plaza District. It's a retro/vintage/cool consignment shop. When we were there, I found some most awesome Día de Muertos-themed wine glasses and a vintage Coach headscarf. There were a number of people just chilling behind the counter and I loved that the clerk grabbed a roll of retro Christmas paper to wrap up my glasses. I think this is a hidden gem and I would love to explore each and every booth to find some more retro gear! read more

So yeah...cool stuff at hit or miss prices. $30 for a "vintage" worn out OU pullover that the geeky kid wore in high school is a cool thing now. I walked around feeing sad for some of those treasures. I've seen many of the same items in the antique stores I frequent (at a third of the price). I felt sad for those who bought things for the cool factor and didn't have to hunt for it. No satisfaction for that one in a million find at a great deal. If you find yourself into 80's clothing for a party then one stop shopping is your destination. If you miss that hyper color tee of your long forgotton youth but don't want to pay original price for it, then there are lots of other places to go. I can say that after shopping here you're not going to reach into your bag for that typical second hand store bottle of hand sanitizer. read more

Totally awesome shop on the plaza which might be more accurately labeled as Bad Granny's Bizarre. Parking is street only but as this is OKC instead of Chicago most times you'll be able to find a spot if not right in front then close by. This is a fairly difficult business to review due to the sheer sassy eclecticness contained within. Really words simply cannot describe all the chaotic wonder that it truly is. I'm going to try anyway but be advised that whatever I write here is but a pale lifeless imitation of what this place is. Let us begin: This is a large store which one can easily spend an hour or more in. It has a lot of consignment/vintage stuff it's true and it's heavy on fashion items clothing, shoes, and home decor. There is a lot of flashy stuff here such as leopard skin skirts, crushed velvet suits, and more Hawaiian shirts then a don ho museum. While clothing is scattered throughout the store (the dressing rooms are in the back) there is also a large selection of jewelry(and of course handbags) along with ...collectibles such as metal lunchboxes, some light furniture (coffee tables, chairs) objects d'art, wedding dresses, prom dresses, pantsuits, biker gear, refrigerator magnets, leather gear of all types, a picture frame made out of doll parts(?), boas, a large selection of star wars memorabilia, uniforms of all types, curtains,all kinds of books,posters, postcards, appliances such as toasters, blenders, coffee pots etc, plates, silverware and many many more items too wondrous to mention. Also some sets of amazing ass less chaps. You know, just in case. Sooo....yeah, there is a ton of great stuff to reward a browse. I was able to pick up a couple of dress shirts and some really colorful beach wear for about ten bucks each. For me that's a total bargain. This store used to draw me like a bee to flowers. It had booth type areas with many fantastic vintage items plus some clothing. I bought several fun items over multiple visits. That was pre-Covid. I thought I was visiting a modern day version of San Francisco's Velvet Underground where all of 60s girl rockers got their clothes. So much vintage hippie stuff including clothes. I could dress like I'm Janis Joplin if I wanted to. There are also lots of knick knacks that represent different time periods if you're wanting to go for a less modern and more artistic look for your house, not just your wardrobe. read more

An interesting eclectic neighborhood, store has lots of clothing (vintage 1950's to 1980's) and contemporary, several smalls and kitschy collectibles...truly a bazaar. As with any vendor booth arrangements, prices range all over the map. You'll find some deals here, and things are organized well. Being a book dealer, I found a few cool books that will turn a nice profit, although many of the books are common mass produced titles. Not my style, yet, a good place for the eclectic crowd to find a few gems, and for the diligent differ, you'll find some cool items to buy. read more

if I could give ZERO stars I would. had the absolute worst experience here!! in the store with my 6 year old son, a vendor was putting new merch on the shelf. my son saw a Star Wars helmet in a reusable grocery store bag on the floor, he went to look at it, the guy YELLED at him. apparently it wasn't for sale and it was his stuff. rather than saying "sorry bud that's my personal bag" or "hey mom can he not touch that" he YELLED at my kid. then when I proceeded to tell him how rude that was and to not address my son like that, he tells me FUCK YOU! In the store, I told him he's a bad person and he proceeded to tell me fuck you two other times. all over a grocery bag on the floor filled with what my 6 year old thought was stuff for sale at a thrift store. told the shop worker and she took his side and said "it's like going through someone's purse." absolutely do NOT recommend this place. never in my life has this happened and on top of him being allowed to treat customers (kids mind you), is mind blowing. read more

I have always been a fan of thrift stores and Bad Grannies is top notch. It is ways stuffed full of treasures and you can be there for hours and not see all of it. The prices are a little higher than most thrifty stores but the selection is pretty awesome. You can find some swanky outfits, home decor and records all in one shop. The staff is always very friendly and I appreciate that they stay open for second Friday on the plaza. read more

Bad Granny's is definitely one of my favorite places to go treasure hunting! Every booth is different and has its own distinct character. The booths are definitely wide spread in terms of prices, but this makes finding a steal that much more fun! (Also to be noted, Retrokc has a small booth here, for what I'm assuming is their cheaper items or maybe just an overflow?) Bad Granny's has its fair share of crazy vintage, cool vintage, and just plain crazy cool! I've found some clothing items here before that totally fit my style, and found some one-of-a-kind decor! Including one of my favorite purchases ever, an Oklahoma shaped basket. If you ever have an afternoon or even just a little bit of time to scan the store and see if anything jumps out, I definitely recommend it! They have the nicest people working here. The owner of this store and the owner of Dig It are best friends, and they help each other out sometimes. What a community The District has! Anyway, I came in here to find some vintage glasses for my Gloria Steinem costume, and the store has rented out all the little sections for different collectors, so you get a variety of vintage clothing, accessories, costumes, and general odds and ends. It is pretty spacious and well-layed out. You might get lost in all the fun. I was so happy to find my glasses, and I thought everything was a really good price. Totally glad this place is here, and I think anyone would say that Bad Granny's Bazaar is totally Bad Ass. read more

I love dropping in to Bad Granny's. The stock rotates nicely so there is always something new to browse, and all the booth owners seem to do a good job of keeping up with the seasons/holidays. I nearly always find something I didn't know I needed like a beaded purse with leopards on it, a black globe, or a Boba Fett shirt. This place is one of my favorites in OKC, both for vintage finds and for live music! I'm kinda surprised no one has mentioned the "Backroom" shows, almost every night the store is open you can hear a variety of local bands performing in the backroom where the vinyls are. For OKC natives, this place is a must-visit in the local music scene, it's a very intimate crowd where you'll see many of the same faces night-in, night-out. The staff rises to this nicely, and it really feels like a plaza "family" among those of us that come to shop/listen to music often. I've never been treated badly by the staff and in fact they know me by name - it's like this for a lot of those who visit. As far as the vintage items, the selection is crazy! I come at least once a week and there's always something new to catch my eye. The store is split between multiple vendors, each with their own niche (if you will), so you can walk the entire store and find all kinds of clothing, furniture, jewelry and other items...some of the items can be pricey compared to other things in the store but it's always a reasonable deal. One neat thing is that they also display art done by local artists for sale - one painting done by a girl I know was bought by Wayne Coyne a few months back. All that said, I'd recommend this place to even those who aren't from OKC. It's a nice place to spend an afternoon or a night, and I definitely recommend coming on the second Friday of each month - that's LIVE on the Plaza and there are way more people out but usually there'll be extra events or sales going on at BG's than usual. Just remember, like most Plaza businesses they're closed Sunday and Monday! And they do open late unexpectedly sometimes, so if you're not following them on social media you'll be caught off guard on those occasions. Just a heads-up. :) read more

It appears to be one of the places where people rent a little space and sell their stuff. You may have one area with all vintage or handmade goods next to one with super cheap knock-offs from Wish. Hidden in the depths of Oklahoma City is a little place known as the Plaza District. A few square blocks of pure cool, the Plaza District is known for its artsy stores for the more unique residents of the OKC area. The streets of the Plaza District are lined with thrift shops, antique stores, and upscale fashion boutiques. Among all of the businesses in the Plaza District, there is one store that stands out. Located on the corner of Indiana and 16th Street, Bad Granny's Bazaar is a thrifter's paradise. This store features a variety of vintage clothing, shoes, and accessories. Along with their wearable retro findings, they also sell antique collectibles and feature artwork created by local artists. When you first walk into Bad Granny's, the overwhelming sight of the rows of vintage gold can be a lot to take in, but Bad Granny's does a great job of keeping things organized. Well, as organized as things can be in a large thrift store. The store is like organizational heaven compared to Goodwill and Salvation Army, where a thriftier could spend hours sifting through bargain bins to no avail. Bad Granny's makes it easy to search through their vast inventory by dividing the store into different booths run by specific vendors. Unlike many of the other thrift/antique shops in the area, Bad Granny's has reasonable prices on all merchandise, in my opinion. They also have periodical sales in the vendor's booths. The vendors differ in style and prices. Peach Pit appeals to the younger crowds with '90s flannels, great knit sweaters, and variety of chunky boots. If vintage t-shirts are your thing, Tres Gatos has got plenty in stock. Golly Gee and Comics Queen have all of the retro books, comics, records, dishes, paintings and other knick-knacks, that your heart could possibly desire. Folk Life supplies antique rings, necklaces, and other funky jewelry. There is even a special section dubbed "Man Cave" for all of the boys who enter the store, whether by their own will, or the will of their thrifty girlfriends. I would recommend this store to anyone who believes you don't need to spend hundreds of dollars to look like a million bucks. Anyone who believes that just because something is dated, doesn't mean it is outdated. And finally, I recommend Bad Granny's to anyone who believes in the power of a good vintage t-shirt or flannel. Those are the type of people that are going to absolutely fall in love with everything this shop has to offer. The store is open Tuesday through Wednesday from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm, and Thursday through Saturday from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Bad Granny's Bazaar is the perfect combination of all things hip, retro, vintage, mod, odd, and unique.
