Do not bring you dog here. They do not know how to properly cut depending on the hair. I specifically told them my dog was double coated and could not be shaved. I asked them to leave his ears and tail long and they shaved him completely down. There are spots that are a hack job and his nails did not get cut down. I brought up my issues and was disregarded. They looked at the notes and he just shrugged his shoulders. This was not worth the price. Uptown's Response: Hey Amanda! I just wanted to reply directly to this review. I think clarity in these situations matter. First starters, you asked for a "short and smooth" groom. We had a groomer check in your pup, and clarified specifically what you wanted, to which you agreed. The nails look the way they do because they were overgrown and long, we were only able to take a bit off because the quicks are so long. (Recommendation: take your pup to get their nails done every 2-3 weeks for the next few months, it'll help them get more confident and help work those quicks back down). Also, you didn't simply "bring up your concerns" - you were extremely rude to the staff. They said attempted to say that the groom was what you asked for and tried to ask questions, but you wouldn't let them speak and then stormed out. We still reached out to the groomer (who also said parts of the coat and the entire tail were matted, thus the tail could not be long, which the groomer also told you at check in) and then circled back with you to confirm and open another dialogue without the emotion on your end. We're very willing to work with dissatisfied customers to make things right, but we draw the line at dishonesty and disrespect. I don't know how clearer I could have been when your staff asked me if I wanted him shaved and I replied "no you cannot shave him, he is double coated" you are correct clarity does matter and that is pretty clear to me. Your highly educated staff should know how to properly cut hair depending on the animal. I came home and trimmed his nails with no problems. I did bring up my concerns clearly if I was so rude to your staff. I think the dishonesty and disrespect is within. Your response to my concerns and your reviews speak for themselves. If they treat us (humans) like poo, how do they treat our precious pets? I hope you think twice about taking your fur babies there. Our golden retriever came home after being groomed and had no desire to eat. The next day he had a high fever and when I say high I mean he was scorching hot from top to bottom and was shaking. We originally didn't think much of it and thought maybe he got a cold of some sort while he was there. This is the worst place Uptown Bark if you love your dog. I brought my Yorkie in for a trim Oct 27th for a trim to top of his head, his eyes, his goatee, his butt, and legs reshaped. They had me pay before I saw my dog, they shaved him to his skin over his entire body. My Yorkie is 7 lbs, not a once of bulk to him, and he is bald. It's almost winter. Not only did I pay for nothing that I asked for them to do, now I have to go buy sweaters to keep him warm, he stopped going outside to go to the bathroom, he hasn't stopped shaking since I picked him up. We brought our dog into this place to have a haircut and they offered to do a spa upgrade for $15 more then the original price we said yes thinking it would be fun for our dog. Our dog was there for 4 hours then we get a call that says they don't want to groom him because he's a little anxious. We said that's fine we will come pick him up then. They then refused to give him back without us paying $55. Even though they canceled the appointment and didn't do anything to him at all. This place is is full of thieves! If I have to call them to ask if my dog is done and ready to be picked up, then they've failed. They obviously don't get the concept of how a business like this works. I drop my dog off, the staff grooms my dog, then calls ME after they're done to tell me she can be picked up. But no... they said they'd take a couple of hours or so, and after not hearing from them for a few hours, I called them, and the person who answered was like, "Yeah she's ready to be picked up!" So I go over to pick up my dog and what do I hear? Loud barking from not only my dog, but other freaked out dogs as well! They were all in their cages, probably wondering where their doggy parents were, just like mine! Is it really asking too much for them to call the owner when the dog's grooming is done? Every other place I've been to does it. So why is it so difficult for them to pick up the damn phone? Never again. Best. Cat. Groomer. Ever. I drive 20 minutes to get him there versus taking him to any of the half dozen groomers I pass along the way.

We've been taking our doodles there for six years. It has always cost around $100 per dog which includes the tip. This last time it was $300 for my two dogs. That's a 50% increase overnight. When I complained I was told that my dogs have mats and they didn't even charge us to remove the mats. My dogs have silky fur and I was aware one of them had a single Matt behind an ear,which I could've cut off before coming there. We were at the front looking at my past prices discussing it. I was very upset about the extra hundred dollars. of course they wouldn't budge and I ended up paying it. When my dogs came out, one of them couldn't even walk properly. He was doing a weird shuffle on the floor like he couldn't stand up all the way. That stopped after a while but my other dog was depressed for a week and just laid around acting very slow. As soon as we got home they both drank water for about 10 minutes straight. Something happened to my dogs back there? I don't know what happened to this place, it used to be great. We have brought all 4 of our dogs for grooming and boarding since we moved here over two year ago. Neve had an issue, always sweet ppl so much that we trusted our dogs to stay with them. Our pups last grooming appt we kept his hair long. They put the cute scarf around his neck and we kept it on as usual. Our dog is a yorkie we decided to keep his hair longer, well this past two weeks we've been noticing how uncomfortable and irritated our dog has been. We noticed his neck was full of mats down to his skin. When I called to get him in they didn't have anything available until next week. I asked how I can keep him comfortable cause he wasn't sleeping hoping they would squeeze him in. Instead I get a lady who pretty much tells me it's common sense I should know when grooming my dog to check for mats. I explained to her I've had 6 dogs I'm well aware how to care for a dog I simply didn't no he had mats so deep in his neck from the scarf. Our conversation didn't go as planned. She continued to catch her self repeating its common sense. I said let me speak with the owner cause you're being rude and this has not been my experience in the past. She said she was the owner and she is the nicest and sweetest person in the world and does anything for anyone, ok then why are you blaming my dogs mats on me and scolding me about it being common sense. If you're such a nice person you'd squeeze him in, that's what was going through me head. Before hanging up I let her know we will not be returning. She said "ok what is you name" so my complaint is the owner was not understanding, very defensive, didn't value a long time customer who brings all 4 of her dogs there for grooming and boarding. She was just rude and tried to make me out to be bad pet owner with no common sense. Her voice was sarcastic the whole time which made it worse. When our pup was groomed last we did notice he wasn't fully dry especially with his hair being so long, so yes I could have better checked his neck, but as the owner she could have been more understanding to my feeling instead of scolding me about common sense and maybe tried to squeeze my pup in since he was so uncomfortable and we have been loyal customers for years. I took my 10 week old 3 pound I know this because she just went to the vet for shots Miniature Schnauzer in and asked them to do the spa package which is 12 dollars and asked for a full schnauzer cut, but to cut her legs also the front desk did let me know with her being a puppy they may not be able to do the full hair cut which I was fine with. I dropped her off at 1 and didn't get a call until 530 to pick her up I did call once around 230 ish to see if she was about done and they said no could take up to 3 to 4 hours which to me is a joke. When I got there I was told 52.55 was the cost I paid and then they brought her out to me. The next day I was upset because seriously only trimmed her face and rear end which they call the Fanny pack which is 32 dollars. I have called around and the highest I have gotten for that is 15 dollars. I did call and try to talk about how ridiculous the price is for a 3 pound dog. Which I pretty much got they charge by the breed. I will not go here anymore price is ridiculous and waiting that many hours to get my 10 week old puppy is a joke also was she kenneled this whole time or what did they do with her? Please also see the picture below of my expensive 52 dollar Fanny hair cut. The only positive note I can say is the spa package she did smell wonderful, but they have lost me as a customer my first time and my family as well will no longer go there. Horrible horrible place. Also I do know a few people who go here and they have never asked for proof of vaccination nor did they ask me. Which is dangerous for the health or our dogs. I took my Siberian husky malamute mix dog to the groomers here. And I was very disappointed. I dropped him off at 2pm for his appointment and didn't get any call from them by the time 4 came around. So I called them and they said there was an incident with a dog that was before mine. So there was a delay to get to grooming him and he wouldn't be ready till 6. Then 6 came around and I got no call, so I headed over there at 7. I got there and they said they called me and I didn't answer, they ended having the wrong number on file. Which they confirmed my correct number before I dropped my dog off earlier. I then asked when my dog would be ready to go and they said 10 more minutes. I waited another 25 minutes in there lobby till the groomer kylee came out with him. She handed him over and didn't say anything regarding how long it took. My dog afterwards was very tired and seemed sad. Even 2 days after the appointment he still seems really off and he's not acting like his usual happy self. So I called them and I asked what was the incident with the dog that caused the delay before him. The receptionist then said she would go talk to the groomer. She said my dog didn't like the blow dryer so they air dried him and that's why it took so long. But when I walked into the lobby to pick him up I heard the dryer going and him whining back there from it. She then said there was another dog before him that took awhile and that's all she knows. As well as she kept repeating nothing happened to my dog. The receptionist was very unhelpful towards my situation with how my dog has been acting since there service. Would not recommend this place. Terrible experience. My dog was absolutely traumatized for days after her grooming- which took SIX HOURS. what were they doing with my dog for SIX hours? I called multiple times to check in and after 6 hours just went to pick her up even if they weren't done, and she was done! No one called me back to let me know. She was so anxious and wasn't even given the opportunity to go outside to go potty. Her haircut is uneven and they didn't cut the hair from inside her ears. The whole place smells like urine, with dogs barking incessantly, they do not sound happy but everything is behind closed doors. Looking back I should have never left my dog there at all. The biggest thing for me is that I need to trust that Buddy is in good hands and well taken care of during the day. The employees are terrific and greet Buddy every time with hugs. Buddy is so excited to be there that almost jumps out of the car when I pull up. The Barks groomers are also fantastic and I use their service constantly. My golden retriever was groomed at uptown bark last week. He looks terrible! Seriously, the WORST haircut ever! My husband, who doesn't notice these things, picked him up. If it had been me, I would have complained right then. All his feathers are gone. His fur is literally chopped in big chunks. It looks like a five year old took scissors to the dog. I have taken my cat here three times now, and every time has been a great experience. The staff is so friendly and I can tell that they are very patient and gentle with my cat.
