I've been going to this office for years. The doctors that helped me deliver my babies were wonderful and helpful, so no complaints there. HOWEVER- lately, they have decided to change their policy regarding signing up for your annual appointment. My last annual was in November. I was asked to call them August 1st to schedule my next annual appointment. That seemed unusual to me (to say the least) but okay, fine. So I called them August first. "Well he's not here the day that would be one year from your last visit, so you'll have to call back in two weeks." I was like "excuse me?? You had me wait 9+ months and have to remember to call you and now I have to call you, AGAIN?...ok. So I called them today, for the SECOND TIME. And guess what she said? THE SAME THING. So now I have to call back in the middle of September. I'm sorry but this is absolutely ridiculous. Why can't we just make an annual appointment AT THE TIME WE HAD OUR LAST APPOINTMENT like normal doctors? Like it used to be? I'm very much normally NOT one of those "like the good old days" kind of people but this is an EPIC waste of my time. Even *if* (and that's a STRONG if) I'm able to make the appointment when I call on September 15th, that'll be 1.5 months of calling trying to make this appointment. I'm honestly just going to look elsewhere. I'm not planning on having any more babies, so I don't need the obstetrics side of it. STEER CLEAR. read more

I have been going to this office for years, and used to love my other Doctor before she retired and I was transferred to a different doctor. Since I've been going to her for the last 4/5 years or so I have seen a decline in this office's help & care. I was out of state and had an issue that I needed a script for to be seen by a different care facility and they couldn't have handled it any worse, with slow responses & completely wrong fax information. I've since moved and decided to switch doctors thankfully, and all I need now is for them to fax over my records. Well- that's been as painful of a process as any with them lately as they literally won't answer the phone. During completely open office hours. I've thought about this place for a while. I originally wrote a review right after my appointment and have since deleted it, after more reflection. Below are my thoughts: Office Staff: Unprofessional, immature, rude and eating during the check-in process. It is unreasonable and embarrassing to have the weighing scale for patients in the line of sight of the waiting room. There is no patient privacy. If a woman does not want to share her weight or last menstrual cycle, that's completely her choice and the entire waiting room does not need to hear the conversation. The girl who took my vitals had the same attitude of the bullying girls I went to high school with. Visit with NP: I saw Robyn for this appointment. She was thorough and at first, I liked her. The exam was painful and she spent more time criticizing my weight than actually addressing my concerns. That's an obviously sensitive topic for me and I told her I was working on it. I'm not going back to this office. It needed to be Swiffer-ed and the people working there needed to go through the training videos again. I hope this review helps someone. read more

Dr Goyer, Dr Namjoon, Dr Coluccio all the best providers wonderful! the rest of this office very unprofessional, the rest of the staff are very unapproachable and in fact seem very unhappy. this makes for a very sad environment overall. I would not recommend selecting this office there are other offices in the area that are wonderful! read more

I would try your best to avoid this office. I had a horrible experience with Dr. Kerri Perrine Roe. I have anxiety surrounding these visits and so I called about a month before my appointment and asked if I could get a Xanax prescription to help with my visit since I have struggled getting through the appointment in the past. The nurse for Dr. Roe called me back and said that they are unable to prescribe that for me, since this specific doctor never met me before and Dr. Roe would like to at least meet me first and see if we can get through the appointment. I understood and completely get that, so I went to the appointment using just some natural anxiety remedies that I use. As soon as Dr. Roe walked into the exam room. She had a horrible attitude, never introduced herself, acted like she couldn't be bothered, and was trying to just get through this as fast as possible and move on. She was asking me the standard questions, but had a attitude and horrible bedside manner with every response I gave. I asked her about some birth control options. Her responses were filled with attitude was absolutely horrible, and when she turned around to grab a pamphlet, I burst out in tears. When she turned around and asked me what's wrong I said I'm just really anxious. Her first response was to ask me if I had a history of sexual assault and if that's why I'm nervous and I said no. She then responded with, "Well then why are you so anxious about this?" (Said with again, a complete attitude). I explained that I don't know why I get so and and told her that I asked for Xanax, but was denied. She then got angry, and said that she never denied Xanax for me and I said that is what I was told. And she said "well, I never denied you that." She then looked up in my chart and said "no, what you were told is that you should ask your primary doctor. Were you not told that?" (With a horrible attitude) I said no that was not the message relayed to me. She said that she's going to try to get through this appointment with me even though at this point, I'm practically sobbing because I am already anxious and then on top of her being really rude I was having a panic attack. She tried laying me down and beginning the exam and realized we weren't able to get through it. I sat up and she said to me, "If you want to start a family you're going to have to get over this". Which triggered me even more. She finally said she would prescribe me Xanax, and then told me to make an appointment in a week to come back. The next day I got a call from who I believe was her nurse, or a nurse in the office, there was a issue with my insurance and the name of my insurance card. The nurse was insanely rude to me which was the last straw and I canceled my upcoming appointment and will never be going back. read more

Aggressive and rude staff. I asked if they sent out text reminders for appointments. Apparently, she didn't like the way I asked and hung up the phone on me. I called back to cancel and she hung up on me, again. My recommendation: go somewhere else. read more

The doctors offer wonderful care. The front desk staff, not so much. In fact, not at all. When THEY call me to reschedule an appointment (yet again -- I don't think I've ever had one here that went on when they said it was going to) that's two months from now, putting it off for six months from now -- apparently patients are not supposed to express any sort of reaction to that, or you'll get dumped to "the doctor's phone" which we ALL know means "the doctor's voice mail". Receptionist did not even ask whether I wanted to leave a message for the doctor, she simply pressed the button and got rid of a patient. News flash, when you work on the front desk, you are representing the practice, and it's appropriate for patients to talk to you about issues like that. read more

Only two, small cons to speak of: 1. One time, for a Gardasil shot, I was kept waiting almost an hour in the waiting room, and almost a half hour once I got into the actual examination room. 2. Friday is only a half-day here, making scheduling a little difficult, especially given how far in advance annuals have to be booked in the first place. Pros: Everything else! Really great place to be - lots of informative magazines and other literature in the waiting room. Very cooperative on the phone and in person, and they have Dr. Schwartz. [ I've heard good things about the other practicioners as well, but that's second-hand and thus inadmissable. ;o) ] Everyone is very friendly and professional, and there is an air of respect for the patients and the patients' privacy that is very comforting. It really impresses me when doctors care enough to listen to and answer one's questions. One time, due to an error on my part, I needed my records faxed over to my university's student health center to get a prescription refilled sooner than I'd anticipated, and not only did Upstate OB/Gyn take care of the faxing, I got a follow-up phone call to make sure I'd gotten my prescription on time. read more

I have always had a very good experience with any doctor or PA I have seen at this practice. Always professional. Of course, I miss my original doctor who delivered 3 of my children, Dr. Jonathan Schwartz. What a good person and kind doctor. read more

I've been attending this practice for well over a decade, seeing Dr. Ann Marie Gaetani as my primary doctor. When it comes to annual visits, I have no qualms with upstate OBGYN, however my experience and opinion changed greatly after becoming pregnant. I was asked to wait 6 weeks before they could get me in for my first appointment, which would have been around the 14 week mark. Almost every single appointment after that was rescheduled on me. Fast forward to my 6 week postpartum visit. It lasted all of 15 minutes, I was deemed healthy and sent on my way. At 8 months postpartum, I had finally accepted that I needed to seek out help for the postpartum depression, and anxiety that I had been dealing with for the last 6 months, I called to set up an appointment with Dr. Gaetani, and was told that she would not see me, because of the amount of time that had passed, and because I wasn't experiencing symptoms of depression at my 6 week appointment - reach out to your primary doctor instead. I find it abhorrent that anyone in the medical practice would turn their own patient away when they are calling and begging for assistance regarding their mental health. PPD/PPA isn't discussed enough, and its embarrassing and shameful for a doctor to turn away a patient in need. read more

For the most I love this office. I think everyone is so nice and welcoming! Any time I've ever had concerns or questions they always take care of me or return calls fast. I gave them 3 stars because I'm not a fan at all of Dr. Laura Oswald. I went in for a scare at 32 weeks 4 days pregnant. I started preterm labor and as I'm crying my eyes out to her she's smiling and giggling (which I thought was kind of rude) then she tells me go to the hospital and I will stop by to see you. I was in the hospital for 5 days not once did she come in! All the others did but not her and she was the one who sent me there to begin with! I understand certain drs. Are on-call but the fact I was there for 5 days and she never came in upset me. Not to mention when I went into the office for a follow up which I've been there 3 times since not once has she poked in on me. I feel it's neglectful, rude, and terrible bedside manner. ***Update*** I'd also like to add NP Amy is snooty, always seems to be in a rush, and has no sense of humor whatsoever. If you do not use the correct medical terms or don't word your question properly she will be quick to give an attitude if she doesn't understand you. I went into preterm labor but didn't deliver prematurely I asked "since we got the baby to keep cooking for a little bit longer does that mean I'm at higher risk when I have a second to go into preterm labor?" Her response "well first of all cooking???what does that even mean I don't understand what you mean" with a very rude tone. No ones ever heard of a "bun in the oven"??? She's just not pleasant in my opinion. We want to feel comfortable and safe and maybe get a sigh of relief when we visit these places not feel like you're a bother to someone. read more

Where to start? Oh yeah, how about that time Dr.Maryanne Colalillo told me my post term baby was head down even though she marked on my chart that he was not. (She moved to Florida the next day, go figure). I go into labor and Dr. Peter Namkoong doesn't make it to the hospital in time so the hospitalist delivered my (breech) baby who wasn't breathing and had to be resuscitated. I received no follow up care after this trauma and when I begged for answers Dr. Peter Namkoong t told me "at least your baby survived." read more

I have been seeing this group of Dr.'s for 40+ years. As far as medically , I have no complaints, but boy do they need to update their payment capabilities. No on-line payment. Given I do not live in Albany and do not travel there very often - they will wait for their payment until my next visit. If they want to deduct the cost of mailing in my payment, I may be agreeable to submit it via snail mail. I think this practice needs to update their technolgy if they want to continue to serve their patients. read more

Every year, right around my annual, I am off birth control for anywhere between 2 weeks to a month because this office is so slow at refilling prescriptions. Also super long waiting room wait time, wait time + appointment takes close to two hours. read more

I was induced and Dr. Namkoong was aware that I was in labor (even broke my water), yet never made it for the birth of my daughter. Afterwards, I hemorrhaged and, once again, no Doctor. The resident delivered my daughter and took care of me when I hemorrhaged. No follow up care. read more
