Don't even bother. Pay a little extra for Canada Post who at least will send your package to a local post office. UPS is shit, they don't tell you online that the local "hubs" aren't connected and they won't ship it to another store so its convenient for you...instead you have to reroute or pick it up in the middle of nowhere, during impossible working hours if you have a job. Even if you have a MyUPS account, and it clearly says you can pick it up at a local hubs, they will still want to charge you for redelivery. They don't bother buzzing. As for this location, there is a lady who I swear is dead inside. Whenever she picks up, good luck trying to talk to her. Their customer service policy is that they don't provide customer service and just want to charge you. With Canada Post now offering flex delivery, I see no reason to use UPS, and I will specifically request Canada Post or not buy from an online store that uses UPS. read more

I ordered a webcam off Amazon.com and it was shipped from Phoenix to Vancouver on the same day. UPS delivered, or at least attempted to deliver, it the next day. I don't have a buzzer number yet to my apartment so they called the day after. I asked if the driver could simply call my phone number when he is close and I can be downstairs when he gets there. The lady replies with "umm..drivers seldom call.." not drivers CAN'T call, but they "seldom" call, which irritated me more because it sounded like it was elective and getting the package to the customer isn't number one priority. The lady suggested I go pick it up at their office and I agreed thinking it would be an office downtown, but after giving me the address, she tells me it is by the airport. After waiting for the long weekend to end, I finally made my way to the airport by bus thinking I could just walk to the office when I get there. I ended up having to spend a $20 taxi ride (from and back to the airport) to the UPS office because it wasn't reachable by walking. I basically paid an extra $20 for the package that I tried to save by ordering off Amazon. Do not use UPS whenever possible. read more

They delivered a futon, a heavy futon to the bldg behind mine. Today UPS claimed to have attempted to deliver my pkgs, but I sat in front of my window all day, and no delivery. For the third time I had a parcel to be delivered and I had to let the UPS driver into the building and for the third time the LAZY driver just put the sticker on my mailbox instead of getting on the elevator and delivering it to me personally! What the hell does UPS stand for anymore? Where did their standards go? Get rid of the lazy ass drivers and return to customer service! Worst customer service I have ever received. Left them with a note to deliver to my condo. Requested a phone call upon arrival. I took the day off work that their tracking site told me the package would arrive to ensure I received it. As it was imperative that I received it that day. Or at the latest, the next day. I also live in a hotel residents with a full time door man and concierge. I let both of them know that UPS would be bye to drop off a package. The package never arrived. I asked both doorman and concierge. Neither of them saw a ups truck or driver. And I never received a hone call. The next morning... This morning I checked the web tracker and there was a note stating that my name was not on the building registry. Which is bull because it is. And it shouldn't matter. I have a concierge that is there to accept packages. When I called UPS they acted like it was my fault. That the driver didn't see me on the registry so he left. I explained to them how many of my previous ups deliveries were all delivered to the concierge. And that I had left specific delivery instructions. They then told me I can drive an hour out to the airport to pick up my package. Which is not an option. Specifically for a company that I paid to deliver to my door. I explained how often my company ships packages and how poor this customer service was. I also explained that it's only 9am and your company delivers until 6pm. So have a truck pickup the package and deliver it to me. This is basic customer service. They said they will put in a call and try and help me. But it would likely be tomorrow. One day too late. I asked them if they can call me to let me know if the package is coming today. They said they will contact me today to let me know. I called back again at 12 noon and this time explained that I need the package today. And I am going to make arrangements to come and get it. Unless it is on it way. He said he couldn't tell for sure. But he would put a call into the centre at the airport and guaranteed again that I could expect a call prior to the end of the day. And prior to that office closing. I was happy with that answer. As I would have to go get it if need be..... It is now 6:50pm. No delivery and no phone call. I am travelling internationally tomorrow and have to change my flights due to this horrible/uncaring service. I am disgusted with this company and will never ever use their services again. Tracking my EXPRESS package all morning (Friday) and suddenly a holdup ... says 'incorrect address'. Called customer service and was told delivery was attempted and now it's rescheduled for Monday. I asked if I could go to Richmond and pick it up -- NO. I asked if it could be delivered today -- NO. I was told I'd have to pay some brokerage fees. WTF? I had the same thing delivered 3 weeks ago from FEDEX and there were NO EXTRA FEES. Worst thing is, this stuff happens all the time with UPS. Last time, a package wasn't delivered for 3 weeks, they couldn't even tell me where it was being held! I contacted Amazon and asked them never to use UPS again for my deliveries. They advised me there was no way I could ask for a specific delivery company. This is VERY POOR on Amazon's part. UPS are reflecting badly on their business. Unbelievably Pathetic Service... I had a larger shipment coming in (a mattress and bed frame) and due to availabilty it got split in two packages. 1st package...I got a notice slip that UPS could not deliever due to lack of buzzer number, and that I was to call to get it picked up at the airport location.. uhm, no.... I called UPS customer service (just keep pressing 0 on the phone until you get a human being) and I re-iterated VERY clear instructions on how to find my front door, which is a townhouse, not an apartment. Package came the next day and they LEFT IT UNATTENDED at the front door - leaving the gate wide open behind them. Nobody was going to be home for hours so the package sat there in the rain, wide open to a busy street for anyone to decide they wanted to take it. 2nd package... It was supposed to be delivered the next day. Received a notice online (no notice slip this time) that "the receiver requested a hold for a future delivery date" which was a LIE, then another notice that "a correct suite number is needed for delivery". I saw these notices online within a minute of them being sent and went outside to see if I could catch the truck.... NOBODY ANYWHERE! I call the UPS helpless hotline again, swore out my address which they said they did have correctly, and they tell me it is OK it will come tomorrow. I sit around the next day again waiting and get ANOTHER online notice "the receiver is not listed on the building directory"...... which is ridiculous as it is a TOWNHOUSE. I chalk this up to LAZY employees not doing their job, likely running behind and using made up excuses as to why packages arent delivered. read more

I ordered something online with Walmart and unfortunately they shipped it by UPS. I paid extra to be sure it was delivered before I went on a trip to Calgary. It was supposed to be delivered Wednesday and I was leaving on Thursday Night, so I had an extra day leeway. So it got lost in their system and I can't even get them to reschedule until I get back from Calgary a week later because they say they can't find it in their system. Of course it showed up in their system when I was travelling and they tried to deliver it. Then I tried to call to stop them and of course they were closed for the long weekend. They tried a second delivery before I could get hold of them on Tuesday. I then called and was told it would be delivered on Friday when I was home. They tried the final delivery on, you guessed it, Wed when I was still in Calgary. I then called support and the girl just drones on that I wasn't available for delivery and I'd have to pick it up. I go on hold for a supervisor and get the exact same droning answer that it's my responsibility and I'd have to pick it up. At that point I had to call Walmart and get them to lean on UPS. Even that wasn't enough and I was told by Walmart that it was going to be returned to them and I'd be refunded. Well I don't want a refund, I want my chair. End result, I have nothing to show for it, but a bunch of phone calls and increased anger. I told the rep at Walmart that UPS lost them a sale and I would not re-order as it would be shipped by UPS again. He replied that they have had numerous complaints about UPS and that my message would be sent up to management. I suggested that they drop UPS as a carrier. What an utterly worthless and incompetent company. I can't understand how they stay in business. On top of that if you ship anything cross border with them they gouge you with their special UPS tax which presumably they pull out of their behinds. Use anyone other than them, purolator, fedex, DHL. Basically a bunch of phone calls and wasted time and increased stress levels having to deal with these morons. read more

UPS lost my AC97 Kawaii Digital piano. I ordered it in January and it never came. The company first denied that it wasn't delivered, then I filed a claim, and have been waiting....and waiting. 4 months later still no refund (yes this was insured), no apology, and when I call them claims office they keep telling me "It was delivered". only the person handling my claim knows the truth, and she's hard to reach. I have to call her every day for a week in order to get her to reply to me. Apparently the piano was found in Salt Lake City (wtf, I live in California), and is one day going to be delivered. Because of UPS losing my instrument, I have lost business as a piano teacher, and precious time studying to improve my playing. I would like to sue this company, but really I just want my piano. I ordered it around January 16th...now it's May 11th and I still have nothing. No money, no piano. Who is holding this company accountable? read more

Certainly the worse ever courier company. I got a shipment from Vancouver to Vancouver and it took them 3 days and it still could not be delivered. As a comparison amazon.ca took just 2 days to deliver from Ontario to Vancouver and got it right the first time. On the first day of delivery UPS say the street address was wrong. But the address contains the correct building name which is a large mall right across the street from the "wrong address". Anybody with half a brain would know to go deliver at the mall. I called UPS and told them the correct address and they wanted to charge me money for changing the address. Then the next day. After UPS has been informed of the correct address UPS omitted the street address altogether and failed to deliver yet again. And again the building name is still there but UPS refuses to use their grey matter. I called up customer service and complaint. Customer service got the Richmond depot to call but the Richmond depot was not only uncooperative but also arrogant, virtually saying that the person on the phone is the only person there and i have to beg her or else. Even the supervisor of the customer service could not get the depot to send my package to me. Yelp should let us give a negative rating. I would have given UPS a -5 star rating. read more

This is actually my first 0 star review! YAY!!! So this is where the positivity ends - I love to shop online. I do it lots, and with great success. So I was excited to discover amazon dot ca. Well, three attempts at giving them my business all failed due to good ol' UPS. I had 2 previous very very bad experiences with UPS - like PTSD bad - So I always request Canada Post delivery with all businesses I purchase from - and all have obliged UNTIL i contacted so called huge business, amazon, to request my delivery be made via Canada Post, they declined. So, I thought - hey, maybe things have changed in a year.... Surely a huge internet shopping business wouldnt put their reputation in jeopardy by using a hack delivery co... right? Like many urban Vancouverites, I work for a living. So I am usually not home during the day - when deliveries like to be made. Now Canada Post, they got it all figured out. They leave u a wonderful little card all safe and secure in your mailbox and low and behold - not even two blocks away, your eagerly awaited package is consistently being held for pick-up... ahhh, I digress. UPS SUCKS. I digress, again... I pre-emptively attempted to reach UPS, before they could screw anything up with my first purchase. After being on hold for over an hour, they refuse to deal with the package recipient until AFTER they have made their first attempt - ok... 1st amazon purchase - delivery notice stuck unceremoniously to the outside of the back doors of my high rise condo. I happened upon it, luckily, and was advised to pick up my package 5 blocks away from my house. I was actually getting excited. Could I actually be witnessing my first ever successful experience with UPS? Almost... upon opening my package 1/2 of my order was shattered. Hmm... 2nd amazon purchase - I received a post card via Canada post saying my package was being held in Richmond. WTF? I live in friggin' Vancouver! There are 5 UPS stores within walking distance of my house! Hello UPS head office - most likely somewhere in the centre of the universe (aka Ontario): Richmond is not the same city as Vancouver! Get a map! So i call the UPS number only to be put on hold for over an hour. I sent all required documentation again and was told I would be getting a call back within the hour. I called well over 2 dozen times, each time the info I receive is different, and each time I was supposed to get a call back within an hour. I'm really giving you 1.5... but I think the amount of reviews on this site really say something about UPS and their service (lack of). Ordering something from Shop.ca the one thing I always hope doesn't happen, is that they use one of these courier services to ship, but I have no control of this... and UPS rates very low on my risk for the amount of trouble it takes to get your stuff. If I knew these buggers were shipping my crap I would have gladly put my work address in, but how did I know. Why all the outrage and anger you say, cause these guys just don't deliver at an appropriate time, and they leave their little sticky with nothing on it... just that they came.. and they left... not even a flippin tracking number (your lucky I have it in email, and was able to figure out exactly what this is!).... no phone number, no tracking.. what is this.. finding where's Waldo? Where I didn't realize Waldo was a person delivering my packages in a brown outfit and a brown vehicle... UPS. So if it doesn't arrive at my house, cause the delivering times are always not in a normal working person's day, and also the times you actually come back to deliver are never accurate I am screwed, and have to make tracks to come out to the middle of nowhere to get my package!!! Unless you have your own form of transportation, you are not coming out here, you just aren't, I really don't see any means of public transit, enjoy that far ass walk from the Skytrain station.. this one is really going to take awhile. Moving it to their new stronghold at Ferguson... the service doesn't get any better when you get here. It's a small ass pick-up room to get your stuff, I guess they forgot to accomodate the bigger packages, if your getting such things? There was 2 seperate checkout desk, one on the right, and one on the left, and very little room for the line-up I was in.. which was only 4 people deep but was practically at the entrance door. This is a new building, you could have made this area a little bigger and more welcoming, but you didn't, so you should at least get people through fast... well this isn't the case either! Picking up mail should be an easy task, it really makes me wonder how far the parcels are.. as getting my parcel made it look like he went deep into the production plant/warehouse? I only give it the extra star, as one of the other guys.. that was gone forever looking for a parcel said that he actually had to find the truck it was on.. and get it off the truck, as the client needed it for the weekend. I'll give them props on this move... but the waiting we went through, and just to get out here..... I just hope my next parcel being shipped to me is not from UPS.. especially since they have outlet shops at other locations... and you'd think.. like all the other courier's... ship it to the closest one to my house.. Like a house, but it's a townhouse. The driver couldn't find us on the directory today he said. Huh. I guess he couldn't find the directory, because THERE ISN'T ONE! All he had to do, was knock on my front door, but I guess since that meant he'd have to get out of his truck, it looked like work, so he just drove by. If he was even able to find the street. I will refuse any services who say they ship with UPS. There are other better options, like paddle boats and carrier pigeons. read more

I wouldn't give it even 1 star; but, there is no provision for negative stars. Unfortunately, I did not realize that my parcel would be delivered by UPS or I wouldn't have ordered it. I have had problems with UPS before. My buzzer number was not on the package; but, my name is clearly marked on our "board" that gives buzzer numbers. It's a small complex; so, the driver could have easily found my number in 5 secs. or less. When I called to complain, a woman from the Richmond centre phoned and literally screamed at me that the fault was MINE. I told her I understood that my buzzer number was not on the package; but, the driver could have used the "call-up board". She continued to scream at me that they didn't have to check the board, the fault was mine, etc. I finally hung up on her. Poor service, even poorer customer service. I will not use UPS ever again! I bought two pieces of furniture each were scheduled to be delivered a day apart. Once I received both tracking numbers and noticed they were shipping on separate days I called UPS to have them both shipped on the same day. they said this would be impossible. And so I sat at the house for 12 HOURS yup 12 HOURS and guess what?? THEY NEVER SHOWED!!! So why didn't they just deliver the two pieces together?? My girlfriend sent me a birthday present from Atlanta ga. It arrived on time, but I had to pick it up and sign for it. It was marked as a gift as I was weary of the brokerage fees. They said no monies owing as it was of course prepaid shipping. 5 weeks later I received a $55 bill for brokerage and HST fees. I was livid!!! I refused to pay. I sent a letter to my MP and although she was sympathetic, nothing could be done. It's been almost a year and I receive automated robo messages each morning from the collection agency but I will stand my ground on principal. FUK UPS If you ever need something shipped from the states, use USPS postal as they are fast and unless its over a couple of hundred $ there will be no HST owing. read more

I would give 0 stars. I moved from Europe to Richmond bc and sent 4 boxes over. All of them were late more than a week. For 2 of them I paid extra for guaranteed delivery on certain day, still failed because boxes got stuck in richmond warehouse for a week. 2 of boxes repacked. Things were opened, dirty, broken. Even if I used bubble wrapping, blankets, pillows, duvet and more my 1200cad worth monitor got broken. Unopened coffee and spices, all got opened, ripped off and and put back into the box. Footsteps on pillows.. So sad, I was sitting and crying. Of course all the boxes left outside the house, noone bothered to ring the bell. So disrespectful to someone's property! I was calling ups everyday, mostly they didn't know what was happening with parcels, once I even heard they were lost! Horrible horrible company, please look at the photos.. Worst delivery service in the history of EVER. I've had several run- ins with these guys and their insistence of charging a $15 customs brokerage fee (for what should be only import taxes to Canada under the NAFTA agreement). Today, I was expecting a delivery from Ontario. I just received a notice that delivery wasn't possible due to severe weather conditions. After confirming it had been scanned through the Richmond B.C. office, and I live 15 minutes away.. I wondered how their weather was so much worse than my sunny, not a cloud in the sky weather here! I called UPS. Spoke with one of their drones, who proceeded to explain their driver put the notification in about the horrible weather. I decided to try pick up myself, but when I questioned her about where my package was right now, she said she really couldn't say.. and really couldn't give me when it would be delivered either. Now, I have been waiting at home, waiting all day logging in to see the tracker (as I have to be home to sign for the package) and it keeps getting delayed. I received a package delivered by UPS in the beginning of last November (it is now March). I will start by saying that it was VERY late. They also charged me $30 extra dollars at my door which they should not have. I paid this unexpected and poorly explained extra fee at my door at the time of delivery. Then today (again it is now March) I get a letter in the mail from a third party collections agency threatening me if I do not pay them $30 that I supposedly owe UPS. I called UPS thinking the letter was a scam and they informed me that the payment at the door last NOVEMBER didn't go through and therefore they had sent me to collections. They made absolutely NO attempt to contact me since November. They simply sat on the information and then sent me to collections. Oh boy, another 1 star review! To pointlessly echo everyone else's experiences, UPS' idea of customer service is absolutely garbage and I have no idea how they survived in this business until now. Perhaps they sweet talk all the vendors with cheap pricing for sending packages, and leave out the fact that they're so cheap because they don't even try to get the package delivered right. They have no logistics behind the deliveries, they'll only try to drive to the written address on the package once a day for a max of 3 tries. Want to reroute your package to the nearest UPS store instead of this location? Nope, the 'customer service' representatives don't care at all. I'm aware you can request a change in delivery address online with an account, so I made one, but when I tried to change it the site gave me an error. So I contact UPS about it so they can do it the old fashioned manual way, like you would think they'd be able to. But nope, they just regurgitate rehearsed answers and tell me to do it online because I would have to pay. Even though my payment info is already on record in the account that I made. After trying to reiterate my issue a few times as politely as I could though my patience was running thin, they stopped responding to me. Their customer representatives are the most incompetent and uncaring bunch I have ever encountered and it really reflects on the type of company UPS is. When I purchase anything online from now on I'm going to make sure it's not "delivered" by UPS, or I'm better off not getting it at all. read more

UPS has the worst delivery service I have ever seen. The drivers don't bother to buzz or even leave package slips. I've been waiting for a package past the scheduled delivery time for over a week now and when I called, they said they were shipping it back to sender because they could not verify my address. What??! Luckily I caught the package in time and they verified my address (which they had all along) and said they would deliver it but it still has not arrived. Sigh. read more

I call in, saying I can't come to the Ferguson Rd location because I work in Vancouver Monday- Friday. The dude on the phone said he can have it arranged to ship to a facility near my house which is also open on Saturday. Perfect. And he said that I can set up text notification delivery. Perfect. Get another notification at my home mailbox and that if package wasn't picked up by x date, it will be shipped back to sender. I didn't see the sheet until day of receiving it, and I called in and the package is being shipped back. Why wasn't it shipped to the access point near my house as arranged, and why didn't I get notified? The customer service on twitter said it was shipped to the access point but how come I still got a delivery notice to my home AND no text mitigation? How am I supposed to know it arrived? read more

Its amaaaazing how they can never do a simple delivery without cocking it up .. 100% guaranteed .. waited all day for my new turntable from Amazon .. watched the tracking notice on-line .. says it was delivered .. open my condo door and see nothing .. My sisters death anniversary falls on the same day. I called UPS and asked if it could be pushed back to the 28th of Nov... they SAID NO it had to be the 27. They also couldn't provide a three or four hour window in which the delivery would take place. They said between 9am to 8pm because of this i didn't get a chance to visit my brother or even go visit the accident site on that day. By the time 9 pm rolled around NO delivery!!! A lady from the local shipping facility (steeles location toronto Canada) Who had (had a Caribbean accent didn't get her name) called the morning of the 28th. She was EXTREMELY RUDE!!! Which to me is Disgusting considering the situation.... I was told by this lady the bed was never on the truck the day before!! WHAT??? I was told four times by UPS the day before this was out for delivery? Of course I was SOOOO MADDD to say the least and she hung up on me. You cant call the office back so at this point I don't know where the bed is. I call Wayfar, I spoke with a very nice lady who refunded me 50% of my order (which was nice) she also called UPS and they confirmed my bed would be delivered between 3pm and 7 pm... well 7pm rolled around and guess what NO BED!!! I call wayfair back and the man who answers this time calls UPS himself while im on hold and guess what? he comes back and tells me that UPS wouldn't be delivering this for another 2 days!!!!!! WTH!!!! and while i am having this conversation the UPS man shows up at my door with my bed!!! SO there seems to be ZERO communication between the local shipping office and the clients. The way I was treated the last few days was disgusting and I WOULD NEVER use UPS again nor will I buy anything from any company who is using UPS as their shipping company.. I ordered a package from Clippers in Langley to be sent via overnight courier. They chose to use UPS and I paid for this service. The package didn't arrive until 2 days later hence I requested a refund. All I've gotten for 2 days now is lip service and everyone telling me there is nothing they are willing to do. JUst now I was actually told that last December UPS updated their service "small print" that they say they can't guarantee this service. Then, you aren't in position to sell this service and charge for it if you can't do it. I've had it with people who dont take responsibility for their actions, or lack there of. I'm in a customer service type of job and if I did this to anyone, I would be out of business. I will NEVER USE UPS again and hope you don't either. Twice in the past month UPS has lost an envelope shipment to me from Amazon. As a Prime member I get free 2 day shipping. On each order after 6 business days have elapsed I called UPS. On both occasions they lost the shipments. On their website it showed both arrived in destination and in transit...then nothing! Amazon refunded both shipments. After 10 days still waiting for package delivery. Visit the warehouse today and I was told the package, that they receive, cannot be found. Every time, during the past 10 days that I phoned (4 time) I am told that the package is on its way and will arrive by 7pm. My conclusion they have NO idea about packages or the location or delivery days or times. The customer service staff is unprofessional and disrespects customer, while at the warehouse, for 2 hours the service staff mocked customers during enquiry calls and definitely had no interest to provide any service. Agree with other reviews. The people working enjoy giving bad service. It must because of bad management. Try a little to give better customer service without attitude. In addition they overcharge for cross border shipping. This is why most now ship to Blaine, Washington to avoid the excessive UPS charges and bad service. read more

Was waiting for a delivery last week, did not get it. Apparently they could not find our address and asked sender to confirm address with us 2 days ago. Today we received a notification that our package was in Richmond, and if we don't pick it up before tomorrow, it will be sent back to sender... We don't have a car, it's almost 4PM and we can't contact them since all agents are occupied... Don't bother having business with them anymore, really bad and overly expensive service! read more

I am so angry with UPS I might burst a blood vessel. I was to receive a parcel with a check from a client on a Wednesday. That check was to pay my rent and buy groceries. Parcel didn't arrive. I checked tracking number and it said they tried to deliver parcel but address was wrong. Address was not wrong, they tried to deliver to another town! Long story short, a week goes by, dozens of phone calls, asking to speak with supervisors, they said they would call back, they never called back. I signed up for e-mail notifications, no notifications were sent, webpage not up-dated, no one knows where my package is or if it will ever be delivered. Another dozen angry phone calls, customer service is a joke. Then they said I should file a missing package report on-line. Went on-line and filled out all the information six times!! Each time the page failed to load, then sent me to a page saying service temporarily unavailable and try again later!!! Still no response from UPS, I cannot buy food to feed myself and the cats!!! I have never encountered such a degree of incompetence and lack of any customer support. The impression I get is if you ship using UPS, the drivers will rifle through your package for anything valuable to steal, and if not, they will just toss the package in a dumpster somewhere and we as consumers can just go screw ourselves because there is nothing we can do about it. They need to be shut down and it's employees all charged with criminal fraud!!! read more
