Taking a break from typical German food for a cheeseburger, fries and milk shake. The quality here actually gives good competition to burger joints in the U.S. It was the perfect way to satisfy a back-home craving. Upper Black Burger: Cool looking black bun, though it didn't really taste that different. Loved the bleu cheese, since it was tangier than cheddar. Didn't notice the cherry chutney that much, which is a good thing, since I was worried it would be too sweet. Overall, a good sized burger of high quality. Truffled Fries: Thick fluffy fries. A huge dollop of truffled cream (mayo?) on top. So much so there was leftovers ever after the fries were finished. Nice hard thin shavings of parmesan to give it even more umami. Yellow Milk Shake: It kinda tasted like hybrid between a mango lassi and a milk shake, but with nice passionfruit highlights too. Creamy and fruit, this went down very smoothly. My family stopped in for burgers after seeing this restaurant down a side street from the Bikini Berlin shopping center. We were not disappointed. My children had ribeye steaks and my wife and I had the Upper Cheese burger. Everything was delicious and they have numerous sauces to choose from for your french fries. The only reason I gave 4 stars is for the price as our dinner cost 88 Euro. Still, a good place for good food. read more

Not good! Totally copping to being an American tourist who found this place by Googling burger places near my hotel with high ratings. I was very disappointed. Our waitress upsold me on getting a salad with my burger by claiming I'd get a "discount" by doing so. I'm sorry I did. The burger itself was way too salty and the salad had really brown lettuce. I didn't touch the salad because it looked so gross and told her about it. When the bill came, I expected it to be taken off the bill but it wasn't. I told her I didn't want to pay for rancid food I didn't eat and she started giving me some story about how she would have to pay for it because she "likes the manager" and didn't want to ask him to take it off the bill. She was super creepy and the whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth (literally and figuratively.) She ended up giving us change refunding the salad but not taking it off the bill which totally rubbed me the wrong way and just made me want to get out of there. Bottom line: horrible food and creepy vibes from the staff. AVOID! read more

I went here with my boyfriend a couple of days ago, because we saw good ratings on the internet, but i was kinda disappointed. I ordered the Dirty Harry Burger. The Burger wasn't really hot, and worst of all, completely drowned in sauce, i couldn't taste any other flavours anymore, just bbq sauce. My boyfriends Burger was better, just a Cheeseburger, at least on this one you could actually taste the meat, which was pretty nice, but nothing special. We ordered a side of sweet potato fries, they were good and fresh. What I really didn't like is, that they served their drinks with a plastic strtaw, not environmentally friendly at all. The drinks are in a glass bottle, so either fill it in a glass, or let the guests drink out of the bottle. In a milkshake you get two plastic straws. The staff was friendly but didn't speak german very well. So overall not a bad experience, but it would be nice, if you could actually taste some Burger read more

I recommend the Dirty Harry Burger (without BBQ sauce, cucumbers, and onions but that's just me), though they have steak (T-Bone, Rib Eye, and Sirloin), rips, salads, and more to choose from. I was in Berlin for the night at a hotel around the corner from Upper Burger. Stopped in for a burger and a beer. The burger was absolutely delicious! One of the best burgers I've ever eaten and possibly the best ever. I'm not much of a beer drinker but I had a beer anyway. The beer had a lemon flavor that made is go down smooth. The burgers were average. The pattie was kind of salty and the buns were hard. Service was average too.
