Really loved this place. They make the fried chicken in a traditional way. The batter is thin and light. The two sauces go really well.

Fried Chicken is really delicious. The taste is same like the Original Korran Fried Chicken. I think the Chef is also original Korean.

There was a line forming so it definitely looked like it was worth investigating. Turns out that less than 5 euros get you a combo meal with a HALF chicken - a WHOLE HALF of a chicken and it's all yours!!! The combo includes a side of fries or salad (or if you're REALLY hungry, a slightly pricier combo gives you both). Just seeing other people eat their meals here made me brave the line and quickly Google the correct way to say, "halbe Hähnchen mit Coca-Cola," which was completely unnecessary since they understand English just fine if you're ordering... You order, pay, and they give you your meal asap before you leave the line - I was so excited to eat it that I broke a tip of my plastic fork when I stabbed the beast of a meat that was the freshly-cooked chicken. Very certain that I will be here once or twice more before I leave Berlin!

I had the most tender and delicious chicken kabobs I've ever had. They have two amazing dips that pack a ton of flavor. Very affordable, delicious chicken. The rice dish with chick peas is also top rate. The setting is pretty casual as you order at the counter and take a buzzer. Tough to beat! I will be coming back anytime I'm in Berlin.

Date of visit: May 31, 2024…read more My husband is very picky, which can make traveling to foreign countries interesting when it comes time to eat! After our initial plans for dinner fell through, we came upon Frittenwerk. I certainly appreciated the kiosks out front to let me know what they have without having to try and decipher the menu with my limited German. I had been meaning to try a currywurst and figured this was as good a time as any to give it a whirl while my husband went with chicken sticks and fries. My currywurst was excellent, I would definitely recommend it to anyone that hasn't had one yet. The fries were decent but the chicken sticks were pretty bland and would be a terrible meal without some sort of dipping sauce. Loved the ordering where they assign you a name instead of you entering one for them to butcher and staff was very friendly, too!

I tried the fries that had some aioli, cilantro and pomegranate seeds. It was delicious but half way through the dish I was tired of fries, so I would say they are better as a shared snack than as main meal. The churros were surprisingly good for Germany and they came with a dipping dark chocolate to sweeten the deal. Will go back whenever craving some not-so healthy snacks for sure!

Habba Habba - The change I was given - I was supposed to receive €5; instead I received 5 Moroccan Dirhams - worth less than $0.50! Cheated out of €5!

The ambiance is stark, with a few seats inside a dark interior and a couple of wooden benches and tables outside. This year, I patronized Habba Habba briefly again and had a very negative experience. My daughter and I were heading to a store nearby in Prenzlauer Berg after a long trip from Schöneberg that was diverted due to the Christopher Street parade. She was thirsty, so I brought her to Habba Habba since I knew it from before. I purchased her €2.50 bottle of water with a €20 note. The man behind the counter gave me a €10 note and a few coins: a €0.50, a €2 coin, and what looked like a €2 coin, only with a "5" on it. The rest of the lettering was rather worn so very hard to read in the low light inside. I said to my daughter, "I didn't know there were €5 coins" and almost asked the man about it, but she really wanted to move on to our destination. I put the coin away. Imagine my surprise yesterday when I tried to pay part of my ticket for the Neue Nationalgalerie with the €5 coin only to have the woman at the ticket counter say that the coin was not a € coin! I took the attached images and ran them through Google, and it turns out the man at Habba Habba gave me a coin worth 5 Moroccan Dirham - currently valued at only US $0.51!! So Habba Habba cheated me out of €5! Not a pleasant experience. Despite the food being tasty, I will never go back there. I recommend that if you do go, you count your change carefully - twice. What a distasteful experience.

There is a very small but cute wood terrace a few steps up the sidewalk with only two small tables, from which you can admire the lively Kastanienallee and its people. The food is fast and delicious, my favorite is the halloumi & chicken shawarma. It's not very cheap but hey. You can call beforehand and just pick up your wrap a few minutes later, perfect for a business lunch. It is not your typical oriental food shack where they just throw a shawarma together roughly. (don't get me wrong, I tend to love those places, messy big portions are the best!) The portions could be a tiny bit bigger.
