I have had my opinions about the way they run things here. I've tried to stay positive about them but today was the last straw. 1. Scheduling opens up once a month and you cannot schedule all lessons up front OR schedule for the following month (something that they don't disclose until you've already paid everything up front). So you're at the mercy of what's open/left over for the month or hope to catch the next open date. 2. No one answers the office line. 3. Instructors inform my daughter Sundays are open but the office gives different information. 4. I had to cancel my daughter's driving instruction because she woke up sick with a high fever, but because it's not a "48-hour" notice, I'm charged a $50 fee OR provide a doctor's note. First off, who anticipates their child being sick 48 hours ahead of time. Second, why would I drag my child out of bedrest to the doctor's? Besides that, the instructors (per my daughter) are nice. In my honest opinion, I would not recommend this company to anyone else. read more

This driving school has significant issues that make it difficult to recommend. I want to acknowledge that there are polite instructors; However, one instructor left me with a particularly bad impression and can only be described as outright rude and unprofessional, which is exactly the kind of experience beginners should not have, as it only increases driving anxiety. The instructor constantly pressured me while I was driving and even commented that my lessons were a "waste of money." On the day of the driving test, they told me, "You will fail the test." I did fail and seem like a waste of money. Looking back, choosing this school was my biggest mistake. The car they use is in poor condition. It is very easy to unintentionally exceed the speed limit, especially because the speedometer does not provide an accurate or clear speed reading. This already undermines safe learning. The teaching style makes the situation worse. During practice, when I became nervous and was driving about 5 mph below the speed limit, the car in front of me was already exceeding the limit. I explicitly asked the instructor whether I should follow the speed of the car ahead. Instead of addressing my hesitation, the instructor simply told me to speed up. This response is deeply concerning. Any instructor familiar with California roads should understand how aggressive drivers can be and how easily pressure increases risk, especially for learners. Under this kind of instruction, it is difficult to develop safe driving habits. The school charges $460 for six hours plus the driving test, which is unreasonable given the quality of instruction. At the same price level, far more patient and detailed instructors are easy to find elsewhere, so there is no justification for this cost. This school seems suitable for people who have already been driving for years. For beginners or nervous drivers, the environment may be encouraging at times, but there is a real chance it can also be stressful, discouraging, and counterproductive. Based on my personal experience, I would not recommend the school. As noted earlier, there are some polite instructors, and I am sharing my experience and observations here solely for reference. Side note: I passed the behind-the-wheel test with a different school six days later, with a total of only one hour of practice during those six days. Given this outcome, I found it hard to blame all my failure in the first test was solely due to my own driving ability, rather than the discouraging remarks before the test and the quality of instruction I received at this school :) read more

The materials provided for taking the permit test as well as the behind the wheel driving instruction were insufficient to pass either test. We had to study outside materials in order to pass the written test. The behind the wheel instruction was very informal. No practice tests are given prior to taking the behind the wheel exam. We switched to another school for behind the wheel instruction. They evaluated current driving ability pointed out learning gaps, and took my teen on a practice driving test using the same standards that are used during the DMV behind the wheel exam. The hands on driving instruction was fine. However, when it came time to fill out the paperwork for the dmv, their instructor filled it out wrong. I, as the customer had no idea until I scheduled the drive test with the dmv, took the day off, took my son out of school, and showed up to the dmv on the morning of and found out that this paperwork screw up cost us the chance to do the test. It cost me a day off at work and 2 weeks to reschedule another day to test where I will have to take another day off and remove my son from school again. I advised the school, they did reissue proper paperwork. However, they did not apologize or offer to make amends in anyway. They charge fees if you reschedule or cancel after a certain point so they understand the value of their time. However, they clearly don't understand the value of our time. I would not recommend this business as there are many other local businesses who offer the same services. read more

I chose this driving school for my daughter, I called them and asked if they had availability on Saturdays to which I was told they did but when it was time for me to book her consecutive lessons, They told me that Saturdays were all booked up on top of that, they were only available during her school hours and not available to pick her up from there. So I have to stop what I'm doing at work, Go pick her up, and Bring her all the way home which is a huge inconvenience. Not a good experience at all. read more

Upland Driving School has yet to perfect their services. I paid for 6 hours of driving instruction which is three different sessions. I paid $350. I was given a different instructor for each session, which I did not like. They all their own ways of teaching, used different terms for different concepts, and had different personalities. This made it somewhat difficult to grasp or understand certain things about driving. They should really assign ONE instructor per student. Furthermore, some topics were not talked about. If I didn't ask about certain things, they would have never told me. I was also expecting to go onto the freeway - that did not happen, even though I found it to be very important. They had a lot of availability, which I appreciated. Although, they only let you schedule one lesson at a time. Overall, Upland Driving School is only okay. read more

I would say don't bother but since they don't even answer anymore they're doing you a favor because they're a ripoff! My niece needs one lesson more to be completely done and needs the last signature from her instructor and he won't answer. We've tried calling him for about a month and a half and can't get a hold of him. I called today and there was a recording in Spanish saying the number is out of service. He is amazing, he has a lot of informations about the road test and many details about all streets around here! When I was so nervous, he tried to make me comfortable and relax with funny jokes.
