I enjoyed learning about the history of the property & the owners. Also, there's a small, hiking trail added by the city that you must visit :) I absolutely loved spending a few hours there. I highly recommend it. Additional perks: 1. It's reasonably priced. Huge surprise - it's only $5.00 2. The home isn't always open. It's fun to walk around the property, but the inside is cool as well and there's a lot of history inside, so check to see when it's open.

The staff were kind enough to waive the entrance fee for Chandor Gardens. The gardens are peaceful, vibrant with plenty of places to sit and a decent walk. There is a nearby nature trail as well. Chandor Gardens are 3.5 acres filled with ancient Chinese architecture and resemblances of an English garden. Douglas Chandor, a native Englishman had a deep appreciation for Chinese architecture and for his home country England which is shown through Chandor Gardens.

They work HARD and even in the summer heat, make you feel welcome and taken care of. The venue is absolutely breathtaking. Photos don't even do it justice. The architecture is out of this world on top of a hilly cliff overlooking gorgeous trees and nature. We were even able to take rooftop photos that displayed the out of this world view and the golden hour photos turned out so perfect. Oh and the bridal/groom suite? MASSIVE! It's basically an entire house (and separate venue) for getting ready and holding all the bridal party's belongings. The bathrooms and suites are pristine with plenty of room. There is a kitchen and wedding inventory that we were welcome to use, all part of the booking service. I highly recommend Stoney Ridge for those looking for their wedding destination in the Azle area.

I was very particular about how I wanted the pictures to be because I had a great experience with a different photographer when we lived in Arizona. Insert Elizabeth - I emailed her about a month before my daughters birthday just hoping she had availability and SHE DID! I told her the theme and the color scheme and she did the rest, literally all of it. I showed up with my daughter and Elizabeth had the background already set with theme appropriate props that she supplied, the cake to smash and even an outfit for her to wear. The pictures consisted of some pre-cake smash photos, the actual cake smash and then photos in the cutest little bathtub which also doubled as a nice way to rinse my daughter off before putting her in her seat. She got the pictures back in record time and I went from not even having a photographer a month before her birthday to having excellent pictures before she even turns 1. Can't recommend her enough and I'll definitely be back with baby number 3 :)
