We were seated in a comfortable booth on the second floor. The service was fast, friendly, and attentive from the moment we arrived. I ordered the pulled pork with mashed potatoes, Brussels sprouts topped with bacon and candied pecans, and hush puppies. Everything was delicious, and the portions were generous, I couldn't even finish my meal. The Brussels sprouts were especially outstanding. Jimmy Madison's is well worth a visit. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in Harrisonburg.

The lack of quality was such that it halfway jarred me into sobriety. The Texas Hen is made with what felt like weird chicken meal, and for $8.99 is not a good value proposition (even with the chili). The fries I ended up with were incredibly sour, which is not a flavor I typically expect from potatoes. The corn dog was alright. I want to like this place for its convenience and speed, but the taste of those sour fries coming up every time I belched the remainder of the night is a memory that will haunt me. I got in on staying Monday-Wednesday, March 27-29, 2023. I was able to combine with work travel not too far from there on that Monday & took off the next 2 days. My friend was hangry and was like BBQ sounds so good. I said I could go for BBQ before hitting the road to go back to Maryland on that Wednesday night, March 29, 2023. Others in the group that were still there agreed. Wow, this was excellent BBQ, not like the BBQ you find in the DC-Baltimore area. I got a BBQ brisket with mac n' cheese (my favorite vegetable...haha...I know not a veggie, but like to joke about that). Both the brisket & mac n cheese were excellent. I think my 2nd side was side salad. That same friend had the timeshare said my girlfriend & I could enjoy on our own anytime in the Sunday night to Friday time range. I sorted out details that made sense and determined to work on the road on that Wednesday afternoon and take off Thursday & Friday.
